Very much appreciated! I moved to Oregon from Vegas a couple of months ago, and I'm still figuring out places to go. Also, very much out of shape now, but I'd rather get out in all of the green than hop on a treadmill. Thank you!

I just had an idea for a new video. Great hikes that survived the fires in the Oregon Cascades. I guess it would be to help people know what made it. I loved the Opal trail I hiked last year, but it got completely burned during the fires. Just an idea, Ty

Lovely areas to hike in for sure! In my area, we have a smaller yet very natural feature packed forest. I enjoy my area a lot (Shawnee Forest Country) but I'd love more than anything to see the mountains. For a mountain hiking newbie like myself, if I were to choose Oregon, what mountain would you suggest being my first few day backpacking trip?

What months or temperatures does MOSQUITOES get thirsty for blood? (You know only the Female Mosquito Suck Blood)-for protein for their eggs.
@HikeOregon
@HikeOregon 2 года назад
The timing of mosquitoes depends on what w elation you are at. Lower elevations in Oregon the mosquitoes start in April and then go through early August as the snow melts at higher elevations.

@@HikeOregonhello. I'll be coming from glaciernp . Could drive or fly. Free last days of july til aug 5th. Want to relax and walk. Motels/hotels (not camping). I know Oregon is huge so it's hard to see some places without too much driving every day.
@HikeOregon
@HikeOregon 4 года назад
Yea Oregon is huge and there are many places I could recommend. For 6 days and if you don’t want to do a ton of driving, it’s a bit difficult. Bend is one of the nicest places with lots of hiking nearby, but next year is the first year of the limited entry permit system so many of the awesome hikes will require getting a limited entry permit.
@markwilson7952
@markwilson7952 4 года назад
@@HikeOregon oh dear. So its complicated if you're coming from afar because permits are serendipitous. I think we are (6 to) 8hr hike maximum people (well, my partner is). So you think dont try oregon on only 6 days?
@HikeOregon
@HikeOregon 4 года назад
I definitely recommend coming to Oregon. There is so much to see here. Spend more than 6 days of you can and make sure to do your research on what trails you can and can’t hike without permits and research what areas you’d like to go to. If you’d like to hire me to make your itinerary I’d be happy to discuss pricing and details.

@HikeOregon
@HikeOregon 4 года назад
Any from this list for sure. And definitely go to crater lake and set aside a full day. Inside the park I recommend doing Garfield Peak, Plaikni Falls, the Pinnacles and Cleetwood Cove.
@adamswoboda5962
@adamswoboda5962 4 года назад
Hike Oregon do you have any suggestions for a great city to look at for lodging or Airbnb that’s between silver falls, Smith rock, Columbia river gorge , and crater lake?
@HikeOregon
@HikeOregon 4 года назад
@@adamswoboda5962 All those areas are kind of far apart. From the Gorge to Silver Falls it's 2 hours, from Silver Falls to Smith Rock it's 2.5 hours. From Smith Rock to Crater Lake it's a little over 2 hours. I would stay somewhere in the Gorge and do hikes from there, then I'd check out Silver Falls on the way to Smith Rock then stay in Bend. From Bend you can drive to Crater Lake. Then you can drive back via hwy. 138 and check out tons of waterfalls along that highway and then go back up north (I'm assuming Portland) via I-5.
