They are interesting but putting a sink toilet in a truck stop or mechanical shop would sure be gummed up with grease and oil quickly though. But in offices its a awesome idea.

Yesss! I hate it. I have American Eagle jeans and if you try you may be able to fit a penny in the pocket. I only throw those on if I'm lazy and have to run somewhere. Plus I really only wear Levis. I carry everything on me, and i only wear skinny jeans. So what I do is going websites and looks for Levis skinny leg, and if my size is available I get em. They're no different than womens, except my front pockets go far down to my thigh so I know I'm not losing anything.

KNOT 2 MENTION THE HAIR WILL DEFINITELY BE KNOTTED!!!
@WakenerOne
@WakenerOne 6 лет назад
I remember in high school watching a demonstration at GA Tech in which two pieces of a polymer, identical except for the hole in one of them, were subjected to stresses while polarized light was shined through them. The way the light was refracted made it clearly visible where the samples were undergoing stress, and where the lines of stress were converging, and where permanent damage had been done once the test was over. That one hole led to an intricate webwork of damage, revealing how weak one hole made the entire sample. I can't help but wonder if, for the sake of getting the hair out of the way, the back of the head is placed at increased risk. And then, there's the issue of what happens if the hair gets snagged on something in the event of an accident. Long hair going out the bottom of the helmet can be tucked directly into a jacket, kutte, or other garment.

We have #19 in Australia, very common. They're called scramble crossings. It actually started in the US but fell out of favour there because reasons. The way they work is very simple, instead of two cycles at the lights there are three - x traffic, y traffic, and pedestrians. Pedestrians almost never cross at the same time cars do at these intersections, because every direction for pedestrians goes green at the same time. Pedestrians use the entire intersection to cross the road, so they can get to any side of the intersection from any other, in one go. It's very efficient and works very well. Doesn't annoy drivers at all, because drivers do not need to wait for a pedestrian to cross the road for the driver to turn left/right, for example.
@garrettholland664
@garrettholland664 6 лет назад
Moon Moon you are also going to be spending a lot more time waiting as a driver for pedestrians
@russellsenenfelder2281
@russellsenenfelder2281 6 лет назад
they mainly put these in areas where most of the traffic is padestrian anyway. For instance, the local university. People drive around it, not through it for the most part. So aside from the public busses and the odd professor, the roads are footpaths in a lot of areas.
@garrettholland664
@garrettholland664 6 лет назад
We aren't waiting for pedestrians, pedestrians are waiting for us. Cities are based around cars in the US, not around passengers. We have no problem letting these people wait

That toilet sink thing would be great. I've got a tiny toilet room in my home which was built before a change in regulations, which means I can no longer get a sink in there. And that annoys me greatly. But replacing the existing loo with one of these would be ideal - no more traipsing across the landing with post toilet hands hoping the bathroom isn't occupied! GET THESE IN BRITAIN!!!* * Unless they already exist, in which case, tell me where I can get my hands on one.

What you're probably unaware of with the "basin toilet" is that the drain from the basin actually goes directly into the bowl of the toilet and not the tank. caroma make these in Australia and they're a good space saving idea but the soap from washing your hands would damage the flushing mechanism and so isn't actually reused

I've spent a fair amount of time living in Japan. The vending machines and washlets are a huge improvement over what you'll find in the U.S. They've also got massively better infrastructure, so internet is both lightning fast and dirt cheap. The only other thing mentioned in this video that's sort of nice are the sauce packets. I'm surprised they're not in the states.

Actually that was a requirement after WWII; Japan was to never again build and aggressive force, they could only spend on defense (it was part of their Constitution), but alas, times have changed and in the past few years the people have voted to spend money on a stronger military. The real reason they have a better infra structure is they don't require the investments in such things to have an immediate profit.

There are none in NYC. You would expect a few, since there are so many people and tourists in NY. Like the roundabout/traffic circles. They are more convenient , too, and a lot of countries have them, but not the US. Or the metric system.

Food is pretty hit-and-miss in the UK. Some is just abominable, other places are excellent, but very pricey. Your best bet is to use the internet and your common sense. I've had rubbery, insipid carvery with mushy veg for £3, but some excellent meals in 'Gastropubs' for less than £20.

I hate these kind videos/articles/news about Japan, they always give a very distorted view on the country (in positive and negative ways). 3/4 of the things whown here are not a thing in Japan. While they may have been invented and sold at some point, I'm quite sure very few people got them or used them back then, and for sure they're not a thing at all right now. There are MANY things way more common (and as amusing) than most of the things shown here. 20-NEVER seen one in the streets nor sold in stores. 19-True one (I think there are other places in the wolrd with these tho) 18-Never heard of anything like that, and anyway, karaoke (as in, going to karaoke places to sing with friends) is such a big thing in Japan, that nobody has a machine in their own house. 17-Never seen an automated store, while there may be one or a few in Tokyo (maybe), this is totally NOT a thing in Japan. 16-Never seen one, and I honestly don't even understand the need of grating butter. 15-One of those stupid invention that make people laugh and nobody actually ever buy/use. Never seen one in real life here. 14-The can one is true. 13-Vending machines are indeed everywhere, but they're mostly for drinks. While I've rarely seen more interesting ones (like with beer, ice creams, snacks (which are indeed rare in Japan), bullshit like eggs or underwear falls into the "there is maybe one or two in Tokyo and that's it" category. 12-Capsule hotels are a thing, and are reasonably spread. The thing is, they don't cost less than normal hotels. So personally, I really don't understand the usefulness. 11-Parking lots for umbrellas is a thing (umbrellas are one of the very few things that you risk being stolen in Japan). 10-The controlled mop....never seen or heard of one, and the reason is probably because it's such a stupid idea nobody ever wanted one in the first place. 9-Never heard of it. 8-Finally a real one. This is indeed in basically every toilet in Japan. 7-Mh. While there may be these things somewhere, I don't really see what's so amazing about this. 6-There is a big culture about cleaning wax from your own (or your partner's) ears in Japan. They usually use a long wooden stick with a little spoon at one end, and a fluffy ball on the other end. Never used one because I come from a country where doctors highly discourage cleaning your own ears because of the big risks involved. That being said, I've never seen such a machine, and again, while it may be true it exsists, doesn't mean it's an actual "thing" in Japan. 5-Moving train seats are an actual thing. Trains in usually arrive to the last station, and then go back without being turned. So they're used to make people always face the direction the train is going. Never seen seats that rotate towards windows, I guess that if there are some, they're in more exclusive trains. 4-Never seen those chopsticks. They look and sound stupid. Definitely not a thing. 3-Another of those "maybe one or two in the whole country" things. 2-This is even more stupid than the wallet tie one. Are you telling me you would actually use such a stupid gadget? Never seen one, never will. 1-Most love hotels don't require any human interaction to protect people from embarassment. Normal hotels are not like that. No, you won't find robots or raptors in hotels in Japan.

@BlueSwampyCraft 6 лет назад
Efrem Serreli In Seyu there is this machine where you can scan your own products and pay by yourself, but I'm not sure if it's in everyone or just the one nearby me. But anyways, you are right. Been waiting for this comment. People always imagine Japan as this weird country full of even weirder gadgets and so on. And while it's true it's really convenient (with some exceptions), it's far from being like it's usually presented by western media...

Just some fun tidbits: there is an ice cream, and iirc a cup noodle vending machine on Tohoku University campus that I've frequented. I've also had the pleasure of using a bento vending machine, although the meal was unsurprisingly not as good as something from the convenience store.

Efrem Serreli Those chopsticks are cool to me as I don't like having to pay my chopsticks on the table. I'm always looking for a clean napkin or laying them on my plate. With those chopsticks, I can just let them down and they'll never touch the table, eliminating the need for chopstick holders, clean napkins or plates.

Your ear wax actually helps keep your ears clean (of everything except wax), so not a good idea to keep removing it all the time. However we usually use a sterile water jet to remove the wax so that will clean out the ear anyway, and presently the ear will create more wax anyway.
