I disagree with Resident Evil 3's, that puzzle is actually quite easy, the appropriate choice, because it IS a harder puzzle, would be the base vaccine puzzle in the Hospital as Carlos. I'd even say the 3 clocks with the 3 jewels to get out the back door of the Clock Tower is also harder than that puzzle in the Dead Plant!

@@zoa1-99....... seriously the amber/obsidian/crystal ball puzzle was more harder for me. At least with the water sample the solution is tangible and you can figure it out visually, while the clocks and balls was just random bullshift

@@LucaBlight25 Yeah, the jewel clocks were random, same as the vaccine synthesiser. The water is the easiet by far, it's just matching a series of shapes correctly.

The Resident Evil puzzle becomes a lot easier when the player reads a note from a facility worker, hidden to the character's left when entering the room, on a notice board in a corner which one has no other reason to go into. It reads, "Experiment-related notes. "Watch for the portion with no wave when adjusting the data."" This made it easier for me at least, as it reminds to look closer and align not only the blocks but the gaps between them, making it a quicker process to eliminate incorrect solutions that look as though they should work.

The canned food puzzle in The 7th Guest should have been here too. Getting a whole sentense right, where Y is the only vowel, that's was insanely hard, at least for me.

The puzzle in Naga Sadow's Tomb is a Tower of Hanoi puzzle. I used to love these when I was a kid. So seeing it in KOTOR was a minor squee moment for me.

To me the Shakespeare puzzle from Silent Hill 3 is the hardest cuz it actually requires you to know Shakespeare in order to solve it especially on the hardest difficulty.

Myst's biggest problem is that every puzzle makes it obvious what element goes with what - except for one. That one puzzle is unfortunately the very first one that must be solved before you can even think about solving anything else. A new player will walk around the island and notice everything about it and come to some conclusions. The tiles with animals in the center must have something to do with the ship. The book with the constellations must have something to do with it too, and maybe match what you see in the dentist's chair. And on and on. All that needs to happen is the switch panels need a small light on them with a matching light on the map in the library. If a player doesn't realize that these switches turn areas on and off on the map and that you can get the tower to rotate to look at these areas they will have a very bad time. And in the original version where you didn't have free movement it was less intuitive that you could go to the backside up in the tower.

That water puzzle in re3 always hindered me from finishing the game. I remember replaying the game the moment i reached that level. It turns out it was just about stacking those lines and also one of my biggest accomplishment was finding that out on my own. 😂😂😂

The microscope wasn't really a puzzle , it was a game against a well programmed AI. The cans puzzle in the pantry, that was a puzzle that took forever even if you knew the answer, which to this day I will never forget, the can animation was so slow.

I remember that stupid gnome puzzle. It wasn’t until someone (on the remake) suggested the “think backwards clue” pointed to that. Then I got that one….but never figured out the original without a guide. Thankfully you can complete the game without it…you just go a longer way to where you go. (I think if you guess you get beans that grow to a beanstalk, which is a short cut…otherwise you have to climb a long set of stairs to the “clouds”

The hardest puzzle ever in a game is in the game The Dig from 1995. The pussle was to put together a skeleton turtle, but it was almost impossible because many of the pieces looked the same, and you didn't get any hint if you where close to put it the right way. Even online guide could not help, they sey only good luck 😁

That goat in broken sword had me stuck for days Also the part in the monkey island where you dive into swimming pool with judges watching you had to do a clean dive but you never did it took me maybe over a week or so to realise you had to put on a dunce hat to make a clean dive lol

As someone who always dreaded RE3's water sample puzzle, I am so glad that not only is it pretty high in the rankings, but that it was also NOT brought back in the remake. God forbid if we had a modernized, more complex version of that brain buster, or if it required finding additional items just to solve it.

I've played games for decades and The 11th Hour - The Chess puzzle wins easily by being the hardest. Minimum required moves to beat it was 40.

The Final Fantasy series has some really convoluted puzzles, I haven't played past FFX-2 but there is usually 2-3 illogical puzzles in each game. Some puzzles permanently destroy your chances of getting great items and equipment and without that your save file will never be 100% unless you reload your last save.

Silent Hill 2 definitely should have gotten a mention. The keypad where you have to compare it to a woman's face being gauged by a thumb. Combining the hair with a hook to drop into a drain. Both worthy mentions.

You should try Riviera: The promised land's forest puzzle. You literally have to know which season you must go in order to escape the forest. It's literally killing my brain everytime I entered that place.

Surprised at the lack of MMO puzzles here, and there's probably enough to make another video. Vanilla WoW's puzzle to open the endgame raid was solved by multiple clans working cooperatively, and some of Destiny 2's exotic weapon puzzles were so complex that one of the top clans renamed themselves "Math Class". Zero Hour in D2 was the first time I'd ever had to use a spreadsheet to get an item.

There was a puzzle from the RE2 remake that was so annoying. It was during the umbrella labs part of the game. You move around viles and try and fill them with chemicals to a specific level. Theres no exact way to move the viles to solve the puzzle. Even online guides say that it takes mostly trial and error.

I remember solving cipher puzzle in one of the Might and Magic games. I wrote some code to solve it. It was half a page of encrypted text to be converted. Fun times...

I dunno about that because in the miracle mask randal was a pretty lousy villain. He has the mask of chaos attached to his hand like a teenage girl with her phone, instead of just keeping the mask i his bag or throwing it up to layton so he could be saved randal just lets go of layton & falls into a underground river & ends up being descole's puppet because he's an idiot for not putting the mask in his bag. Randal brought everything upon himself because he's stupid.

I've played the entire Professor Layton series, and there are plenty of puzzles more difficult than Sealing Off The Smell that don't have trick answers. Even the trick puzzles usually have some logical way of figuring out that it's a trick.

Honestly love that game, played it last year for the 1st time. There were a small amount of things I looked up for it though.... like for example I didn't initially realise that I had use the newspapers and police station to find clues for the next location I needed to be at. I liked the game for not handholding though and once I got into the swing of things it was extremely satisfying to play.

Alone in the Dark on PS1 was one big puzzle horror Game. I got alot of headaches and nightmares playing that game. Portal on the other hand gave me anxiety attacks. 🙃 I managed to finish both.

Ah, the Babel Fish puzzle. I remember at one point I had the bathrobe hanging on the hook and the fish hit the robe, slid down the inside of the sleeve and went down the grate. I tied a knot in the robe sleeve (thinking I had solved it) and hit the button and the game replied that the fish "hit the robe, slid down the OUTSIDE of the sleeve (nice try though) and down the grate". Never have I been such a combination of amused and annoyed.

I've found another apparatus in BotW a LOOOT harder than the one mentioned in this video. Idr which shrine it was, but you had to place three rolling spheres on three buttons simultaneously. I've spent way too much time trying to solve this one, lmao
