That Bed Extender was done by someone living waaay back in the holler', lol Maybe paint your company logo on it to gain more customers OR rent out advertising space on it to a company to make the monthly truck payment, LMFAO!! Some of the shit people do amazes me.....sometimes, lol
If you're having coolant slowly leaking from your system and have to refill once in a while, there is a pipe running under the air intake that is plastic and leaks. $30.00 upgrade part can be purchased from the Toyota Dealership and you can install it as the most essential upgrade to these series of trucks. Going strong for over 200,000 miles now and no payments for over 5 years. Here is to not buying a new truck for another 5 years.
Some things missed that I did to my 2005 TRD Sport 4x4. Locking bed storage box Power tailgate lock (did that at the same time as the backup camera. Ditched the factor stereo for a nice touchscreen, Ditched the horrible stock speakers for components Added a kicker Hideaway sub Locking lug nuts And soon, sound insulation on the doors. Also replaced the sock shifter(was really sloppy) and knob(was loose) Added a short shift kit.
I like the hood struts, bed mods would be led lights and probably 12 volts plug, heated mirrors would be a must, all my previous cars had heated mirrors, here in the Quebec Laurentians, it's a must, that is the reason why I won't go LED headlights, I need the heat to keep the snow/ice out....I would love a lift kit and 35 inches tires, but by doing so I compromise the towing capacity, and I need that, more than the looks of the lift kit and the fun of the 35 inches tires....
Heated mirrors are a must. I was driving a Gmc savanna cube van from Quebec City back to Ottawa the day after a decent storm. I went through about 2 jugs of washer fluid, and it was running off onto the non heated mirrors and froze. Couldn’t see shit behind me.
Hers is an update of my mods: hood struts, bed lights with 12 volts plug, retractable aluminium tonneau cover with lock, tailgate electric lock, high powered led backup lights, 32 inches tires (LT 275/70-17 no lift), trailer hitch 2" with 7 pins trailer connector, a radio that accepts about anything, CD-DVD-USB and cell phone bluetooth control, still shopping for electric mirrors, side steps.
Going to look at a 2011 access cab Thursday. Four cylinder model. Has the SR5 package and only 64K miles. Hope it goes well. It'll be my 3rd Toyota, my first non Ford truck.
@@johnwicksfoknpencil yeah, this one looks like new, and only 66k miles. I have two dirt bikes when I play off-road. Great gas mileage, and it drives like a little sports car.
Make one out of PVC pipe or copper pipe. Mount just inside the sidewalls with a single bolt on each side so the extender can rotate inside the bed when tailgate is up.
I’ve got those same tail lights and the headlights with them I’ve got after market racing rims too now I’m trying to lift it about 4 inches and put bigger tires on it and paint it all black I’ve got it straight piped as well cause I mean it should sound good too if it’s gonna look good
Bed mat, save money and buy a commercial grade restaurant mat, 35-40 bucks, cut it to fit 😎 had mine for 3 years now, way easier to move if need be than the thick expensive one
Can anyone recommend a radio? I put one with a screen in about 10 years ago, it seems dated. I put in cruise control, intermittent wipers, bed extender, towing kit and bed lock, bed extender most useful and I use it closed more than open to keep items from flying. With the extender, I put rollers on a piece of wood that is only seen when extended, I put the two boards for hauling plywood, and put a board in the middle so it slides on properly, I use it often. I bought chrome wheel covers that most people think are wheels, on Amazon, about 70.
For my stereo, I installed a Jensen CAR710W. The screen looks great, it has wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and it was easy to install. Got it from Crutchfield
I know it's an old post but take a look at Crutchfields offerings, I love my Jensen 710x from them, and they sell everything you need to make a radio fit in your dash, wiring, etc 😅
Do NOT put it where the second level 2x6 goes (where it is pictured in the video). This pocket allows you to load a 4x8 sheet of plywood/drywall in the Tacoma's bed. A better place to mount a 12V outlet would be inside one of the covered storage bins in the back of the bed.
Hey! I will have our web guy update the article, for now, since RU-vid doesn't like links, just search for "ACANII - For 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma LED DRL Halo Ring Smoked Lens Projector Headlights Headlamps," and you should find them.
Anyone know if 2nd Gen Tacoma from 2012-2015 ever came out with with Factory Rear Diff Lockers on the white long bed? I know the 2nd Gen taco from those year came in with the factory lockers on the short bed on most color but I can’t seem to find it that they did in the white long bed. Tia!
As far as I know the locker only came on the TRD Offroad, and the Offroad did not come in the double cab long bed version, so if you want a 4 door long bed you have to buy a TRD Sport or an SR5, neither will have a factory locker in any configuration. This is what I have gathered in my research.
I can tell you why. People build the bed extensions so that they can utilize a 6 foot camper top for camping. It's a way to have the short bed, but to be able to camp with a 6 foot camper top. Yes, this is a thing
@3:08 The brush guard looks nice on that truck. I guess it depends on the style of the guard and the look your going for that'll pull it together. KC lights are kinda redneck looking but if your taking your truck offroad and live in the boonies I guess they make sense.
Mark Paugh Mark Paugh would you like me to start with the “bed extender for 50$”? Or the piss poor example on how to paint ones badges? .. colored matched ones are online for the same price as a can of spray paint..
