Can't wait till they invent smell-o-vision Edit: Actually...after seeing how some of my co-workers' rooms look like from Zoom/Teams, I think better not...
With social distancing you practically have to wear 4 sprays of Joop to get a compliment, if someone can smell it through a mask! Then again, I'm not sure a 10 ft. thick lead door could block out the scent of Joop!
Great list- could add oxygene by Lanvin, azzaro intense, agua fresca Adolfo dominguez, For him Hanae mori, Ferrari Bright neroli, zino davidof .All below 30 USD
Years ago Kiehl's offered a line of Essence Oils that were in small glass vials with roller balls. Some of the scents seemed strange by their name, but I fell in love with 'Coriander 1946' as well as the 'Musk 1921' - each were named after the year they were formulated - but they have unfortunately discontinued all but the musk.
@@funnynotjokin2387 I don't think it's generic. I had it on my kitchen counter with five other frags and my BFF and teenage daughter both went wild for it.
I have 8 of the list, all blind buys selected from your reviews, all fantastic, my two favorites from this list Icon and Bentley Intense! Thank you Sebastian!
Did you buy a 2018 or 2019 bottle? The first releases in 2018 were stronger. I have a 2019 bottle and it was pretty weak when I bought it. It seems a bit stronger now, so it's possible they released batches too early with bergamot that needed to maturate.
Totally agree with Kielh's. Wore it once and went to my cousin's place for lunch. She smelled it on me and fell in love. She's always asking me if I'm wearing it whenever we see each other. Great scent!
Kielh's makes better fragrances than original Musk like Forest Rain (discontinued though). Think it's better for a woman IMO and I have no problem wearing unisex or female marketeted frags. Just not my thing I guess.
Great suggestions Sebastian! My cheap compliment getters are tous intense man replay relover police forbidden man diesel plus plus masculine pomellato 67 artemisia and more.. and ofcaurse from your list are many like ch man prive Zadig and Voltaire etc... But most of all versace the dreamer!! My absolute no 1!
I had the original musk by Keihl from my dad back when i was a kid around 1997. Pretty sure it was real musk back then because one spray or dab (from the aftershave) would damn near knock you out!!! lol
I got the Bentley intense, was disappointed with the opening. After 30 min turns into something like a church ointment. It s an interesting smell. Now i m happy i tried it longer and didn t send back, right away. The Lalique encre noir sport smells like freshly printed money. Love it. Very deep quality
Karl Lagerfeld’s Bois de Vetiver is another great cheap fragrance. It’s actually a “hidden gem” that many don’t speak about. I also adore Ferrari’s Noble Fig. Reminds me so much of a fragrance that Acqua di Parma would make.
Being stuck at home means I'm only getting complements from my partner ...what she doesn't know is that I'm massively over-spraying my less liked cheaper bottles so I can replace them with better quality fragrances...after watching this video I'm not so sure I'm doing the right thing lol.....keep up the good work and stay safe
Your reviews help me pick the BEST scents at ANY budget for my male loved ones, I swear. You describe scents so vividly I could smell them! Been revising my wish list and gift list based on your reviews :)
Wow you are the 1st one I've seen in reality because yesterday video was most definitely out of touch with what's going on in America $450 for 90mls 🤔 right now. Who??? So GOOD COMEBACK
Love, love, love the Lalique Encre Noir line, but so wish the longevity was better. I bough a tester of the Encre Noir for my husband, and loved it so much I wear it myself! I bought a full bottle and a second back-up, but just don't get enough longevity from the cypress and vetiver to take it very seriously. I guess you get what you pay for. I will experiment with layering, because the drydown of the Encre Noir would be a great base for something.
So glad that you introduce people to Guerlain Heritage - I normally wear it for more 'special' occasions but given the current state of the world - why not enjoy it now! I also decant it into a roll on because it tends to go very BIG on me. I like both the EDT and the EDP and go back and forth.
tim rush The edp is my #1 frag and edt #2. They are both masterpieces, so complex and classy. They are not sexy imo. More for the conservative gentlemen.
I know that Oud 24 Hours from Ard Al Zaafaran is supposed to be good. Where do you order these from? One really takes a chance when ordering from these small sellers on Ebay or the 3rd party sellers on Amazon.
No Aramis 900? Im sooo on the fence with blind buying it... these are selling for $21.89 + free shipping on ebay currently. I guess what i'm trying to say (if you don't mind sharing), what can you relate 900 with??🙏
LOVE this video. Actually own quite a few of them already bc of your talk with Ashley! Thank you for doing these. I never get tired of hearing you talk about fragrances and inspiring me to pick up a bottle :)
Loved this video concept! This mic allows us to hear the bottles clinking and the sound of the fragrance sloshing around. Reminds me of that beautiful time of the day when I choose my scent for the day. I’m not usually into sounds, so I’m not sure why this is standing out to me haha! I’m hoping to find one of your videos like this that include some amber florals.
Picked up 78 today at T.J.MAXX. 21.99. Really like it. Thank you for the recommendation Sebastian. I’d never guess the price or house if I smelled it without knowing
Best cheap compliment getter? Putting green by Omerta. Usually I don't like clone fragrances and the marketing behind that but this one is so close to Eau Sauvage for about 10€ it is unbelievable. But I don't know whether its available in the US :( I really like your content and your recommendations :) Greetings from Germany
I know, the niche and so your videos don't make difference between man and woman scents. Because I don't find female RU-vidrs who do videos in your quality, I am smelling more and more like a guy. Greetings from Germany
Hey Sebastian, I got a bottle of Lagerfeld Classic and wanted to know if you ever reviewed it. i gotta say its a nostalgic smell for me and I love it but just wanted to see what you think of it. cheers
Thank you for your series on cheap fragrances. So many fragrance channels here focus on the same handful of designer and niche fragrances. Its good to see these options are the other end of the price scale. I don't know if you have done it yet, but it would be great to see a blind survey of the better "cheap" fragrances for men, against their high end, and hyped up counterparts.
I am a BIIIG fan of the Encre Noire line... It does get positive attention, but, even if people hated them (which they don't), I would still wear them. Some low-cost ones that get me positive attention: Bentley Momentum intense Oud 24 by Ard al Zaafaran Lalique pour Homme (Leo) L'Uomo by Gianfranco Ferre Rochas Man L'Homme Ideal Cologne L'Eau D'Issey Intense Intense/Dark/Exclusive by Zara (I know you don't like it, but for me it works very well) Stay safe!
@@stijndeblauwe7607I I love the Or Intemporel, but I did not get that, I had a sample... Great fragrance... But I also love my Lalique pour Homme (Leo) EDP... It is great to wear dressed up
Excellent video. You have the 2018 edition of Zara Vibrant Leather. From all accounts, the 2019 version was weaker when purchased. I'm finding my bottle getting stronger as time goes on, so I have the feeling they released bottles before some oils had a chance to mature. I find Voyage to be too weak for hot weather. Where did you find Guerlain Heritage testers for $35? Perhaps Fragrancenet had a few when you first recorded this video? The entire Encre Noir line is really good. Versace Dreamer introduced me to the house and Versace Man, Man Eau Fraiche and Eros soon followed. Aramis 900? Wow! That came out of left field! I'd like to see you review Aramis J.H.L.
Wonderful videos and knowledge-sharing, always. Thanks for these cheapie suggestions, especially in the context of our bizarro times. I just watched your "favorite coffee" video and wondered what you favorite coffee-prominent cheapie might be? My favorite low-budget scents are Caron Eau de Reglisse (but price is coming up because discontinued), SJP Covet, Cerruti 1881, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Bamboo, Halston Amber, Weil Suki Essence, Clinique Aromatics in Black, Laura Mercier Violette (but discontinued), Samsara, and definitely the Kiehl's musck + Versace Dreamer (someone broke a bottle in the discount store I was visiting and I was like "whatisTHAT?") What am I doing during covid-times? Working writing (art-based) grants and just started making fragrance videos, too. Super low-fi and I have a lot to learn, but I'm having fun! Cheers to you for so much inspiration, Amy
Top notch! Funny, they rarely get talked about but they're both great.. Kiehl's Musk and Body Shop White Musk. Fantastic value and scents! Banana Republic and Mandarina Duck are excellent as well. Guerlain - Heritage is a classic. Great content!
Greetings from Massachusetts. I have a question - what do visitors do your domicile smell, if anything? Surely a collection like this must create a certain aroma?
Good video as always! Because we are all in self isolation, next video please „Top 20 Fragrances that help keeping people away from you“ (just joking 😂). Stay safe and healthy.
Others I’d like to add during this time would be... Tommy Hilfiger for men, Aramis New West, Joop (yea I know), Bvlgari Aqua, Guerlain Vetiver Extreme, Versace blue jeans. All budget spring-summer. Joop for its longevity and pricing
I've got New West coming. I haven't worn it since 1993 or somewhere around there. I loved it back then and I saw it for really cheap recently so orders are taking really long time but I can't wait to receive New West to go down memory lane! ;)
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews lol you have 900 and I got new west lol let’s swap! Haha jk. I have to get 900 I have Devin...not a BIG fan. But I want to get the new Aramis Special Blend. 900 I think I would really enjoy
@@ThePerfumeGuy Of all the Aramis flankers, the one that's never seemed to hit the discounters is JHL (named after Estee Lauder's husband, Joseph Harold Lauder). It's still available at a few major retailers.
Elodie c god, u know what’s SO CRAZY! I had this in my shopping cart ready to go and I took it out cause I wasn’t sure if it’s unisex or more feminine. Worst case I could always give it to my wife haha. I wanna try to Le Bain so bad!
I bought Caron pour un homme sport because of your review, and now i have to consider buying l'eau... L'eauOL 😄. But I didn't feel any connection between sport and the original. The sport was a very bright and zingy citrus scent, and the original was smells little bit like play dough to me. Will L'eau be more like the original? Btw we're doing fine in here. Things are getting better here in Korea. Stay safe!
I love Tous man sport. I blind bought it because of you and your Co host last year. I just wish it lasted. I swear it doesn't last more than a few hours on me
Thanks for the video Sebastian. As I sit here just outside of New York City I keep hearing ambulances going by. Your videos are very calming. I will have to keep that in mind. Good idea to do a cheapies video. With the way the economy is going to be for a few years I think I can only afford cheapies.
Love this video. Awesome you give the price and where to get each fragrance. Learning from your past reviews, gave Dunhill Icon to my brother and Bentley to my brother in law as gifts. Both were very impressed at my good taste. Please keep up the good work sharing pricing and purchase info with each review. BIG THANKS
Great list Sebastian. I'm actually going to order Bentley Intense since I've had the regular Bentley. I'm also ordering Encre Noir Intense and Robert Graham Valour. Valour sounds like it's my genre. All these prices are fantastic. I order from Fragrancenet and Fragrancex. On those sites I can do some major spending especially with your recommendations! Thanks as always for your detailed descriptions. Your taste is pretty damn close to mine. I subscribe to a handful of fragrance vloggers but I've found you to be my go-to man for fragrance purchases😉👃👍 p.s the only things with a fragrance I cannot wear anything with white musk and/or ISO E Super🚫 instant headaches. Do you like Yatagan by Caron? It's so old school masculine but I love it though it's Sillage and longevity is virtually non existent
Great list. I’ve been eyeing Kiehl’s Original Musk for months already. It’s being sold by a niche store. I expected Lalique Encre Noire À L’Extrême (25 euro on Notino), but perhaps it’s more expensive in the US. 300 ml Mugler Cologne for $60 - $70 would be a nice addition too, I reckon. Great, great list anyway 😀👍
Dear Sebastian, I suggest you to try two of my most complimented cheap fragrance I own. The first one it's called "Thé des Vignes" by Caudalie. It is considered a women fragrance but I think it's 100% unisex. It has an "Eau Fraiche" concentration but it really smells AMAZING. Here in Italy it costs 25€ the 50ml and 35€ the 100ml, so is very cheap! White musk, neroli, ginger and jasmine. Gosh, so delicate, so fresh, so sensual. It's one of my unknown gems, I'm sure you will be surprised. The second incredible one is "Periplo" by L' Erbolario. I think it's EDP ad it costs 22,90€ the 50ml and 32,90 the 100ml. It has only 4 notes: white thyme, bay leaf, green mandarin and sandalwood. Very fresh, pungent and 100% "Mediterranean". They are both gorgeous for their prices, you absolutely HAVE to try them! Let me know :)) Greetings from Milano
Thé des Vignes Fresh by Caudalie? I don't see one here in the states just called Thé des Vignes" by Caudalie? And Periplo L'Erbolario? I'll look for them soon when I am buying some cheapies. But I have bought a lot lately so it will have to wait a bit. But thank you for the suggestions, I enjoy them! :)
Great video as always. Love the selection. By the way, I am wondering if you have ever done a list for fragrances that are Musk-based/prominent? I would be interested in seeing that. Cheers!
Sebastian, I have 16 of these and agree with you on each of them. Hopefully I'll be picking up the remaining four on your recommendation. I've lived in a few places in California, my favorite of them being Carmel by the sea, and think that if I lived in San Fran now I'd wear Lady in the Nettles more often. Though my current climate rarely affords the opportunity I do love what smells to me like the creamy inside of a burnt marshmallow at a pine forest campfire. I think that you may have made that recommendation as well! Thank you so much if so! I usually wear something different every day. The last few weeks I've smelled fantastic, though no one else in the world would know! Thank you again for this and all of your videos! Grace, peace, hope, health, and joy to you through this and always!
This was a magical clip, full of so much choice. You did a fabulous job with it. Just to name a few, I have found that Aramis Tuscany, Stash by SJP, Athletic Man by Rive, Moustache by Rochas and Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland all seem to generate interest when I wear them. Another couple are Zara 9.0 and Zara S4nd4lwood. Fantastic list and thank you!
This list is darned near perfect as far as cheapies go. Superb job as as always. My only problem is I don’t have or know niche so I’m always lost on those 😂
I have to laugh a bit when he says "This is from a house called Aramus..." This was a hot brand back in the 60's. I think it might have been passe by the 70's. Yes, I'm a dad now, but I only wore Aramus when I very young, and it was popular with jr high kids the way that AXE is popular with that demographic. My kid outgrew AXE real quick and I expect he would feel the same about Aramis, after his big sis bought him a Versace men's fragrance Sampler last Christmas.
It's Aramis with a I and this is a brand has a lot of meaning to me. My dad wore it back in 1980/1981 and he introduced it to me when I was 9/10 years old. Current generation doesn't really give a crap about Aramis but I love the brand! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy Thanks for the reply. I have fond memories of it, too. I got some of the namesake, eponymous fragrance for Christmas, circa 1970. I had outgrown the Hai Karate of my grade school years. The grown men in my family wore Allspice!
Great list and I enjoyed it and i like natieca voyage and mr burberry indigo and aramis and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Interesting and useful list of fragrances. I’ve got several of them. Just checked to buy another bottle of CH Man Prive. But the prices are insane at the moment. Is it discontinued?
I bought the bottle of BR 78 green and man do I love that smell. Works great in the South Florida heat when I sit in my front yard. Are there any other fragrances that have that kind of mix/dna? I would surely like to check them out. It seems unique to me. Is it the combination of Tea and Fig?
