I think the conversion amount is not as important as what you can get with $1 in these countries. I’m from Ghana, and I remember that we removed three zeros from our currency more than 10 years ago. The real question should be if $1 can buy you a simple breakfast/meal or not in each country.

It's not about oil my dear, anyways Nigeria only has oil mostly to boast with, nothing compared to Congos rich resources, southern Africa has vast minerals not just one, need good government

It is the way these currencies are pegged against the dollar. For example South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt are arguably the top 3 richest countries in Africa and yet on this video they are not on the top 3 strongest currencies. This means one country can be far richer than a country with a strongest currency and this is just messed up, CONCLUSION - it is the way currencies are pegged against the dollar. Japan is in the top 3 richest countries in the world and yet 1 dollar = 139 Japanese yen BUT if you look at the Tunisian dinar, 1 dollar -= 3 Tunisian dinar. This whole currency exchange system is meaningless

3 biggest economies not 3 richest, GDP doesn't represent wealth in the soil, it's calculated using production within a country in a particular year so it always switches. Congo is very wealthy but not among the top 3 economies in Africa even though they used to be part of the top 3 (Zaire) in the 70s 80s.

When did South Africa gain independence, to be tagged as gate way to africa?. Funny you!, the gateway to Africa is the country that first liberated itself from colonialism and helped others do same, and I think Ghana did it for Africa, so shut up, SA is too young and small for such a title. May be South Africa seems to you as a powerful country but you ga to know that, South Africa is seen as a powerless country in the eyes of the leading panafrican countries in Africa. Come again!!!
