Awesome job again, Dom! And THANK YOU for specifically pointing to “doing all the things you need to do BECORE BREAKING THE GREAT RUNE.” It’s absolutely mind-boggling how many “guides” there are for this DLC, out on YT, that completely lead you into advancing NPC questlines beyond breaking points and locking you out of content/loot. Trying to find good loot guides for this DLC that don’t landmine you has been such a chore. Seriously, just that single distinction you’re making sets you miles apart from a heap of other good content creators. Keep up the superb work amigo!
The masoleum with red bear also is where you find the painter for 1 of the 3 paint puzzles. I think he only appears when you burn the scadu tree seal with messmers flame for the final area.
I was about to post a comment but this was already here. Not that this painting makes up for the area being empty but it's an item he forgot to mention.
@@tiny_98 he will be facing enir allhim after you burn the tree with mesmers flame cause before the area will be shadowed and not be golden like it is in the photo.
Can confirm the Enemy Respawn is a distance thing, as it happened to me in the base game. I had cleared the shaded castle in Altus Plateau, ran out real quick for something on Torrent, hopped back in, and enemies had respawned. Definitely has to be a loading limitation or something.
Yea that’s true I’m the type of person who kill all the enemies so when I jumped on torrent and started roaming the area then come back think I’m good and then boom I’m getting jumped and I have no more flasks so I’m like what’s the point of not sitting on grace if that’s just gonna happen anyways
@@lolocordell idk bout that I think the pre loaded cuz if u think bout it when u if u past the imaginary line that decides wat area is what the other areas or ground vanish and that’s why sometimes when u don’t fast travel but move to a different area u get some runes for all the npc enemies but idk maybe that’s cuz of the animals yea I can see that nvm ur right and it might just be the animals
Dude, you bring up such a good point about the DLC that I don’t think is being talked about enough…some parts…quite a few actually, are very…lifeless. The base game never felt like this. There are some parts of the game that feel almost unfinished. It’s still my favorite DLC ever, but it’s still a good point.
There are absolutely parts of the base game that feel like this lol. Imo the dlc is better besides the like river tunnel places and then no horse in ancestral woods is annoying but it makes the area really spooky. The river caves are the only places that are egregious and even then they're basically highways between areas so idk. It's an open world game there's gonna be empty space 🤷♂️
6:36 OMFG! this is why I love these videos so much. You showed me where the up current was I took it explored on my own. And then jump down thinking I did it started the video again and then saw that I missed that jump off to that little cave. It’s like you watch a little try a bit, then you watch some more and you go back and figure it out amazing makes the game so fun thank you Dom! Btw I’m on the final boss and I’m using this to keep me interested in the game as I get mauled over and over again and again lol 😂
Just want to say that we all wait eagerly for this series. I don’t even start a new region till your video is out. Thanks for all the effort you have been putting in on these videos. ❤
The drop chance is really low, but i got it within 10minutes with 99 arcane + silver scarab, horn and fowl foot. Use crystal darts to make them kill eachother and help out a little
I found the two bears and the bear guy very easy. Way easier than the close by Runebears in the other region. You might want to go back to the bear mausoleum place once your character engaged in plot relevant pyromancy. Oh and for the Sunflower Imp hat... In the scorpion dungeon you missed the Imp Head (Lion) or as I would call it, the Sunflower Imp hat. For this, after going up the ladder, you have to jump on the trap and take it all the way up (past the evil toad) to find to the left the hat. The Imps won't drop that thing.
You can break open the sealed spirit springs, right where they are, by using Margit's shackle, without bothering to look for the sealing mound. I guess they reused the logic for illusionary walls in some way.
Thank you so much for these videos, I love the humor and the clear instructions you give. I look forward to your videos and I make time to sit down to play the game with you every time a new video comes out.
This is literally my favorite series for the new DLC. For example, I’ve been exploring skadu Altus for a few days and didn’t ever even find lower rauh. Was about to move onto shadow keep, but then this next video came out! Really useful as I don’t want to miss out on any areas. Keep up the series!
That’s extremely sad. You don’t like to explore for yourself, to have the mystery of what could be around the corner? What’s even the point if you already know where everything is? I bet you watch movie synopses before you watch a movie too… just sad.
@@austins.2495 bro chill, this is a massive game and i need help finding things i missed, thats literally the purpose of this series, im sure you found everything on your own, if you dont wanna see us peasants fumbling around then go be an elitist somewhere else
Actually, behind the mausoleum where you have Red Bear, on the ledge overlooking the fort, if you’ve got the right painting, there appears a guy on a chair and you get the spiraltree Seal.
Another great walkthrough, thnx! And the Death Knight from the Scorpion River Catacombs drops a different axe and medallion. The rewards you mentioned drops from another Death Knight from Fog Rift Catacombs
So excited for these runs! Im progressed beautifully so far in my run so far thanks to these things you may have missed! Thank you Dom and Commenters for all elden Lord needs!
Thank you for solving / providing the guide to get to that Nameless Mausoleum with the Red Bear - I struggled with that far longer than likely intended but now with the help of this lovely guide, that will be the last opponent (with a health bar) to fell. The ICYMI guides are truly a delight and greatly appreciated! 👻
As always...great job! I truly appreciate all the guidance and words of encouragement as I play this beautiful game! As much as I would have loved to acquire all these things before breaking the great rune, I can say that with tenacity and at least 45 attempts, those other bosses can still be beaten without the super cool stuff in this video! LOL
I really like the new Format, its more of a incase you missed than a step by step walkthrough. Keeps me as a player engaged in my own gameplay rather than just following yours. Btw it wasnt mentioned but i found the Lion Imp Head (+2 Vigor) in the Scorpion River Catacombs. For someone hunting for Armor sets its worth knowing
you re a great content creator and i really apreciate your effort, but would you pls move the item description to the right or left instead of covering the whole screen
I've had something like that respawnning pest incident happen in the base game several months ago. I spent a while clearing out the whole of Liurnia's central lake, but was startled to find the albinaurics back again despite not resting when I rode back into the area from the surrounding cliffs. It's probably a distance thing? I dunno
Thanks for the awesome work you are doing. Love your things you missed series. Hopefully a lot more Elden Ring videos to come especially some build recommendations 🙂
You definitely deserve this for your efforts. Thanks to you, I missed nothing :) don't know if you care about outfit combos much, but here is my favorite to try: Messmer's greaves and gauntlets, Dryleaf Dane's torso, Divine beast helm (the small one), Uchigatana left hand, Backhand blades right hand - dual wield these, so you get katana on your waste. Enjoy and keep up great content!!
@@KintolzRED77 I’m taking a break from that guy. The tree guy has made it personal. Due to it starting to cheat. Not asking to make it easier. But any advantage to help against all of these monsters helps.
@@jacksonthomas1851 sunflower boy has three phases. I found it easiest to just attack him close meleee damage and dip when he does bullshit attacks and repeat. Sunflower is weak to fire. Its head is the weakness
Raksasha fucked me up the most. I ended up cheesing him with the Envoy Greathorn, Envoy Crown and Alexanders Shard. Red Bear I went beast claws vs beast claws and it was one of my favorite fights of the whole expansion.
Here’s something we missed, just NE from the giant bear-dung pile where you get the Greater Potentate’s cookbook 8 there is a larval tear at night. Thanks for the guidance!
Loved that Dom glossed over the FLYING SCORPIONS around Scorpion River. That was "Nope nope nope" from me lol. (They aren't that tough... I just enjoy the arachnophobia jokes.)
There’s also a Lion Imp head helm in the catacombs, in the room where the traps come down from the ceiling if you jump on top of the one nearest to the statue of the Basilisk and look to the right it’s sitting there in the little clearing 😁
About the enemies respawning you asked about, i also experienced it but with one of the tree sentinels over in the Highlands area, didn't rest or relog, just went afk for a while in the shaman village and found that one of them respawned it even played the boss music but without the health bar popping up, he didn't drop any extra rewards aside from a very minor amount of runes compared to when i first beat the duo.
Cool trick I learned, you can use Mohgs Shackle or any schackle to unlock the spirit spring, just use the Shackle on the inactive spring, you don't have to look for the pile of rocks to activate.
If you’re having hard time with those Spirit springs/Air Springs, just use Mohg or Margit Shackles. It will break the pile of Rocks nearby. It’s in your Inventory. It’s useful in some Dungeons that has those Giant Chariots in them. Also the Feather Armor is useful for other War of Ash skills. Anything that’s jumping in the air. Like Lion’s Claw, Savage Lion’s Claw, or Gravity Thrusting. I’m not sure if the damage is increased by wearing the Armor and using the jumping Attack Talisman, is increased or just need 1 to get the Bonus. But Stronger Bosses, I had to wear stronger Armor. The Solitude Armor Set with Mimic Tear Helmet and a Strong Shield. Cheers
I fought this bear boss first, didn’t even know the other one existed until I saw it in an earlier video. Totally waylaid this one, but the other one in Scadu Altus gave me a time!
As for the respawn Kindreds, I have noticed that in DS1, the hollows in Firelink Shrine will respawn without resting at a bonfire. This is the only instance I have ever seen, so seeing the Kindreds do it is interesting.
3:05 Not the only thing, there is a painting phantom you can locate once the Sealing Tree has been burnt and Enir-Ilim revealed. Other than that, this plateau is wholly and woefully barren of interest.
I kept going back and forth in the forges thinking I missed something because there never was a boss or a finish point. Must of hit the switches back and forth a dozen times till I searched RU-vid and found out you examine the forge.
I completely agree that compared to the base game where every single corner that you explore you are rewarded with something and your curiosity is never not rewarded. The DLC definitely is slim with exploratory items and the amount of secrets compared to the base game. Still a very enjoyable game mind you but that’s something I noticed.
Can't wait for the things u missed episode in the finger ruins! Those places feel so empty. I just sprint past that area since i think there's nothing in there + those baby dune worms are just annoying.
Nice Job :) I'm trying to find which video did you show ShadowKeep and defeat Mesmer but couldn't .. I'm still struggling on discovering some items there ... Hope you can help me, your video format is the best.
I think the reason for the kindred respawning might be the way the game loads areas for you and as it reloads the areas it may also respawn the enemies
Yeah, enemies respawn if you go far enough away. I remember testing waves of gold in Limgrave and just going from Gatefront to the other side of the lake was enough for the originally killed soldiers to return.
5:48 Seen this happen a few times and it does seem to be determined by the distance. Areas appear to reset, or load back in. I'm assuming this is a performance optimisation to free up memory and clear cache, or the state of the world which is stored in temporary memory. I've noticed loading screens taking significantly longer to load in since installing the DLC so performance measures like this aren't surprising at all.
Take ladder by where black knight ashes are found. Get to wall close to death aura statue. Jump on guard rail to climb spike trap. At top jump off to upper area to find Imp Head (Lion) on dead body + to vigor 10:31
Just finished the video and as promised here is the 2nd comment. 1st off fantastic video! 2ndly, PLEASE make sure to do a quick recap (10-20 seconds) of places we've been so far in this series. For example: "In episode 1 we covered gravesite plains, in episode 2 we covered Belurat castle." Etc... Then end that section of the intro with "and now this is the next part of the DLC and the next step in our journey which is to break the great rune. If you haven't seen my other videos in this series yet, I implore you PLEASE go back and watch them first before following me through this video if you haven't already. You've been warned! ;) " I mean something like that. You can steal what I said verbatim or make it your own. But I feel like that little warning is a good idea because some people might not know that they'll miss out on quest lines/items or whatever if they just randomly start with the breaking of the great rune after they "did some stuff" in the early part of the DLC
3:13 i couldnt agree more , i know people are saying this is the best dlc ever and it may be but i feel like it could if been waay better .. i was actually a little disappointed.. i felt like there was so much running with not a whole lot of things to discover .. idk why i watch these videos cause i got every item in the dlc just like i did in the main game still id give this dlc a 7.5/10 main game is 9.5/10
Everything could be better. This DLC is huge and there's plenty of stuff in it. Some areas are just lore areas or just nice to explore cause they're pretty.
You can use Margit's or Mohg's shackle on any locked spirit spring and it will automatically unlock it. No need to find where to break the other stones for it to open!
If the Gravebirds are golems, can you use Crystal Darts on them to make them attack each other? Just thought of that when reading the Gravebird armor description
Watched the video twice andnthis is now the 3rd comment. Again live this type of content and this video is immensely helpful. Love it! Keep it up youre doing great!
Hey bud the only reason the enemies reset is because you went at a distance like going out of view distance. Gino Moschino tested this on one of his runs. It is perfectly normal for you to go out of render distance and come back and enemies be back as well. I hope this helped but this is something I thought you would know to be honest
Regarding the kindred of Rot, I suspect the flowers are spawning them. It might be worth killing them and waiting in their location to see if distance or time is the trigger.
In Talu's ruined forge ther's a part near the end where you climb a long ladder to get to the highest level. At the top of that ladder behind you across a gap are some guys and probably one of the loot items Dom mentioned. I assume you can jump that gap. I didn't want to chance it and thought there might be another way and if not I'd just come back to it. going forward you pull a lever that reverses the pipe in the level, and once you jump onto that pipe there is no way to get back that area. So this is a very missable item, if something was over there.
You weren’t very clear on where to find the lighting spell in the catacombs. Having trouble finding it as I didn’t on my first run through of it but gonna try again
