"Diabolik Lovers" is a misogynistic pile of crap. Instead of wasting time, money and the lives of the unfairly paid animators, do reboots of "The Rose of Versailles" and "Sengoku Basara". Adapt "Ikemen Sengoku", "Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden" and "Anatolia Story" aka "Red River" into an anime series. That will save the anime industry from dying.

Personally i think the only major complaint of Island of giant insects are how terrible the CGI on the giant insects are. The manga is definitely raunchy and gore filled which is why i see why they dialed it down a bit but the way people die in that manga (also like a couple in the anime) are pretty damn haunting. Especially in the sequel series when they go up against the mantis horde.

Why is so much anime these days cookie-cutter fanservice? What happened to the kind of quality we saw in _Tenchi Muyo_ or _Outlaw Star?_

The only one on this list I didn't drop (and actually enjoyed) was Wise Man's Grandchild. I just called it: "Generic Isekai OP MC Anime #151" I enjoyed how the anime itself poked fun of its own MC, plus it had some great waifus. Unfortunately with these types of series, you only get a taste of what's to really come, since most only come out as promotion for their respective light novel or manga. Granted the show was pretty dull, but fun enough to keep me watching to the end. Cheers!

My first honest thought coming in was "these anime can't be too bad" but turns out i was mistaken this is brutal and I wholeheartedly wish that there wont be anymore of them

The amount of anime Japan has to produce is so large that is to be expected that shit is going to be made frequently, just like any other type of content all over the world, still, a culture showing its subconscious can be scary, that gore, incest, women denigrating mentality is a pretty damn ugly fetish from a repressed society.

Diabolik lovers the show is different from the manga in many ways I felt yui komori should have had more personality in the show since she had more personality in the manga so I agree with you but I felt it was a great story that’s just missing a lot of important details like character development,story line

4:00 I loved that show as a kid, but in looking back on it I can see that the only reason that I liked it was that I had nothing to reference it to. Garbage can seem good if you are unaware that it is garbage. 11:56 When I first saw this I had hopes for it since it seemed to be different in several ways from many other shows like it, but around episode 5 or 6 I began to say "While this is not as bad as another show that is coming out around now, it is not that good either." I ultimately forced myself to finish it just to see how it ended but I have been quick to dismiss any thoughts of buying the dvd ever since.

The reason I hate Diabolik Lovers isn’t because they rape her, but because the show tries to call itself a “romance” anime. Like, take Shoujo Tsubaki for example, an old anime movie based on a book about rape, but it doesn’t try to pass it off as romance, it’s actually made to call attention to sexual assault and how bad these issues are. If Diabolik Lovers actually tried being an anime about the descending mind of a rape victim like Shoujo Tsubaki, and didn’t make her an idiot, then I might actually give it credit. But-NOPE

Wiseman's Grandchild The anime where they put the hero vs main villain battle before romantic ventures, character processing, villain's tragic backstory, and in depth world interpolation. They did the epic mc vs antagonist battle at episode 4, followed the hero's company around for the rest of the show with no set justifiable goal, have the antagonist kinda just roam around meeting people, and have the mc's crew basically have a build-up to a beat-down at the end. Seriously if the final battle is just the mc doing the work while his team is basically just buying time before they are ultimately defeated, then they could've at least have a rematch between shin and schtrom instead of having them fight enemies which audiences can't invest in because they we're introduced too recently for any development. The creators may have wanted to change up the order of the tropes but instead messed up a tried and tested formula

I actually really liked diabolik lovers, it has a lot more depth than what you give it credit for...

i'm going to be honest i actually like eiken though not the anime but more the manga(specifically i love kirika,she kinda reminds me of a mix of the anime portrayals of rangiku matsumoto & yourichi, won't hesitate to say the other characters aren't much better in characterization and komoe's the worst part of both versions as while she's okay personality wise her look is the definition of ewwww. but i really enjoy kirika and find her flirty,fun loving playfully goofy nature with densuke actually sexy and how later on it's shown she has a bit of a crush on him.compared to the other way blown bare characters i actually like her fanservice and wouldn't mind a sequel ova if it focused on kirika only.:3 ) and i'd put fist of the blue sky & the berserk 2017 anime(biggest disappointments to me with how much potential they could have going all out in a ova series.),seikon no quaser,conception,vampire holmes,aesthetics of a rogue hero,the isekai anime "enride",koi koi 7(i liked the anime at first and especially the manga but man it's ending sucked and it was pretty bare with some characters.) or seven mortal sins(worst hobby japan series and a really big failure to me with how much it ditched it's comical 4koma nature for a bad indifferent story.) in it's place as outside of kirika i found it more boring if anything and their are way worse ecchi series i've seen that would make you question why it isn't a hentai.

While yes the animation, voice acting(sub and dub), tone, and the anime overall was the equivalent to a C- movie. As someone who is studying to be an entomologist, I found really interesting and on point at times, pretty scary knowing how accurate it is at times.

Not only did Idea Factory's Unholy Trinity make it onto the list, but so did a fourth anime based on one of their games; Diabolik Lovers.

While I see Wise Man's Granchild more like a guilty pleasure like Arifureta, I'll admit there WAS something to work with; like looking at an unfinished clay sculpture that wasn't put in the furnace yet. I could see having Shin be some introverted spastic Fantasy and Science nerd with no stomach for violence; maybe with a penchant for some well-meaming pranks built in with a love for experimentation. I could see his friends all being a bunch of weirdos that all contribute to each others' growth as the story goes on, going beyond the social outcasts they used to be (keep the prince the same for a good straightman.) I could see killing a human Demon for the first time be Shin's biggest turning point as the fact he killed something humanlike scares the living hell out of him. The concept of Scientific thinking enhancing magic is interesting, I'll happily admit. And make the romance take longer than around 5-7 episodes to go from embarrassed cutesy moments to literally getting engaged, maybe around 45 episodes if that isn't too slow.

I don't care what anyone says I really didn't mind the wise man's grandchild and I still like watching it every so often, no matter what the animation was like.

I have never even heard about any of these shows (of course I know Gundam and Fist of the Northstar but I had no idea they made such crappy sequels or whatever they're supposed to be) and after looking up their scores on MyAnimeList pretty much all of them deserve to be on this list^^

Diabolik Lovers shouldn’t be on here. Nobody is watching that anime for a realistic depiction of healthy relationships, they know it’s meant to be a fucked up fantasy. The actual lore and animation is pretty good imo. Let girls have their dark fantasies, no need to tell them how shit their taste is and how they must think abuse is okay.

I'm really happy "Magical Warfare" is not on this list. That anime gets alot of hate but I enjoyed it. I love magic anime like "Trinity Seven" and "Blade Dance of the Elementers".

Can i put honorable mentions? - Dynamic chords: How not to make an anime if you not put any efforts at all, and just make an MV instead of whole 12 monstrous episodes - Nobunaga's teacher young bride: A lesson to any studio makers to see at future value for what they adapt before making any of it. - Master of Ragnarok: I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO DEFENCE ON THIS SERIES. There are boring isekai's (Isekai cheat magician), there are crap isekai's (Wise man's Grandchild), and there's 50/50 Sh*t, and then there's Master of Ragnarok. No redeem quality, animation is blisteringly bad af, the side characters of full of crap, the story is soo generic that make Boruto look like Steins;gate. - Try Knights: For any anime studio that had plan on to make a sport anime to celebrate the sporting event that held on your country (particularly 2021 Olympics), perhaps this anime should serve as a warning from the past (or any case on how to embarassed your self in front of the world). Try Knights was create to commemorate the 2019 rugby world cup but what result from that is an utter joke. The animation whilst slightly better than my sister my writer is still a joke consider rugby is a moving sports. The story is a shambolic for a sport anime (even Keijo was better at storytelling) and had some sort of bullsh*t gay trope. And to say they promote the sport, they ruins the sport (By not understanding basics on even how to play a rugby). Basically this anime is a big thicc middle finger for sport promoter/ federation in japan (particularly japan's rugby football union)

I remember finding and watching Eiken a few years ago. Only 2 episodes long, no discernable plot other than how to get the females as scantily dressed as possible, crammed end to end with fan-service that bordered on soft-core hentai and the male protagonists love interest was so meek and timid she made Fluttershy from MLP seem like Anko Mitarashi from Naruto. >_

I'm glad nobody watched it, but since I subjected myself to it, I have to say that EVERYTHING in this list is essentially an Emmy winner compared to a series called Bloodivores. Not a single thing on this list could compare to the level of awfulness that Bloodivores had. While most shows on the list are genuine trash, Glasslip and Wise Man's Grandchild were good and only people with terrible taste would disagree.

I'm shocked to not see Master of Ragnarok and Blesser of Einherjar (MORBOE) on here. No matter what Isekai series you curse (most tend to curse the Smartphone Isekai), I guarantee you that MORBOE is *at least* ten times worse than that.
