It's not even an interesting train wreck. It's just a boring, lifeless slog easily shooting to the top of the list of the worst things the MCU has produced in its near-decade of existence." Catwoman. I mean they had a great look for her from the batman movies Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman, but they went a 'new' way. The movie over all isn't too bad, but that costume ugh.
I have to disagree with Sabretooth and Elektra. Sabretooth look badass and more menacing than 2009 Sabretooth. I loved the fox fur around him. And Elektra was decent. Didn’t look bad at all.
I'd personally also disagree on the Joker from Suicide Squad. He was quite comics-accurate at the time (I mean, that was around the time when the comic book joker had just cut his own face off...) and he was also quite decent in the movie. And yes, I still want to see a director's cut of that movie, with the scenes as they were originally intended, before the test audience mingled with the movie so much that it became unrecognizeable.
Except Reynold's made the same mistake X3 made, Cain Marko/The Juggernaut is not a mutant, the power inhibitor collars for mutants wouldn't work on him, his as his powers are magical he is a regular human who was empowered by a gem belonging to the deity Cyttorak.
The worst part about Bullseye, is that the scar is actually comic accurate, but Daredevil gave it to him. In the Hardcore arc, Dexter attempts to kill yet another lover of Matt's. Matt was fed up with Bullseye at this point and knew how predictable he was. Waiting in ambush Daredevil throws Bullseye out a window. On the alley below Daredevil takes a broken piece of debris, and as he berates Bullseyes about how meaningless and pathetic he is, Matt carves over the bullseye tattoo on his forehead. He proceeds to tell him it's so when he finally realizes what everyone else does about how sad Bullseye is, he has a target to aim for when he kills himself.
Juggernaut was so darn disappointing in X-Men The Last Stand. But the fake ears on the low budget, straight to video Captain America was beyond awful. I mean....I know they weren't working with much during filming, but c'mon. Who's brilliant idea was it to have his costume include fake ears, along with a very obviously plastic shield, that would perhaps give a villain a slight bruise if they were struck by it. Damn thing looked like an oversized frisbee more than anything. I mean, it was beyond bad...And not in a way where it's so crappy, it's actually enjoyable; like The Room or something.
@@methosmomomax7470 I don't even remember. All I know is that all the time director Brett Rather spent on mutants nobody cared about, like that Porcupine dude, or the other dude who had spikes coming out of his wrists (among many others), could've been used to better flesh out beloved X-Men villains like Juggernaut. To be honest, they really missed out on a major opportunity, relegating him as Magneto's expendable side-kick. He should've been a major villain for at least one of those X-Men films. It's sad when the best interpretation of the character is featured on Deadpool 2; and even then he had about 8 minutes of screen time. I mean, he's Charles Xavier's stepbrother. Plus, Imagine him just wreaking havoc all over New York City. I know technically he's not even a mutant, rather a human who gained his powers from a long lost jewel, but still....They turned him into a clown in X-Men The Last Stand; and I was pissed about that.
Stupid plot, even worse costume. Why WB/DC can’t just stop overthinking things and give fans a good version of the source material like marvel & Amazon/Sony
@@Kalel2.0 it actually looked pretty accurate to the first new 52 reverse flash/dark flash - Daniel West. But im still not really a fan of the whole sequence
Wade willson wasent mutant was bad ass merc after he tryed to cure his cancer he got walvrens healing factor and that thing with sword arms was weapon 11 that was mash up of different powers
@@samclark379 i found the movie funny, but it didn't feel like a Batman movie. I would argue that two face is way worse than riddler in that movie. Both looks and personality wise
@@samclark379 I'd say Penguin was actually worse. He had none of his signature traits, just looked like a generic mobster. But that movie was complete garbage anyways (and yes, worse than Suicide Squad, and I wouldn't watch the released cut of Suicide Squad again if they paid me).
Corman's Fantastic 4 is the most comic accurate version we've gotten. Given the no budget and the 90's release it surpasses the 2000's FF. That Dr.Doom is stellar compared to the other 2 live action versions.
13:23 - Literally not a single human being alive on this Earth would say "green" after seeing their friend turn into a superhero. Stupid dialogue for a stupid movie.
8:37 Fox had comic accurate concept art for Apocalypse and in the words of Th3Birdman, Fox went *"Nah, we know better than Jackson Guice, fuck him"* 12:39 Why can't they use simple Reverse Flash?
Thirty-four years later, still cannot get over how there isn’t a single shot of Captain America, from the 1990 movie, where he doesn’t look like an idiot. NOT ONE!!! That has to have been intentional.
Did you guys forget about Dolph Lungren's Punisher, Shaq's Steel, Reb Brown's Captain America, or the entire cast of that unaired pilot for the Justice League, or was this only for theatrical releases?
At least they largely got Bane right in Batman & Robin… Mr Freeze’s suit has grown on me over the years, but mostly because of the “Batman & Robin: the Musical” parody video that was made Seriously it actually makes the movie look like it had potential… also check out their “Commando: The Musical” and “Terminator 2: The Musical” … both are superb
Agreed. They were so boring. I personally prefer the garish Schumacher Batman movie look to the Singer X-Men film costumes. As least Schumacher's Batman costumes are visually stimulating.
I don't get the hate for Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern costume. It looked cool enough to me. Anyone remember Cathy Lee Crosby's Wonder Woman from the 70s ? The costume wasn't completely horrible, but it looked nothing like the WW in the comics.
Ironically CLC's WW costume does bear a (slight) resemblance to the tunic, undershirt and leggings of the Scythians, who the Amazons of myth were said to based on - in a way, the least comics-accurate WW costume is the most historically accurate 🤣
Agreed about RR's Green Lantern costume. It wasn't that bad and doesn't even make the top 20 list of things that were wrong with that godawful movie for me.
Yeah even Linkara would put a permanent end to that running gag of the "Nostalgia Critic" when he reviewed the comic adaptation of "Batman & Robin" which by the way didn't have the Bat credit card in it there
@@corbinowens2437 Elektra is a 2005 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Elektra Natchios and directed by Rob Bowman. It is a spin-off from the film Daredevil (2003), with Jennifer Garner reprising her role as the titular character. The story follows Elektra, an assassin who must protect a man and his prodigy daughter from another assassin who was hired by the Hand. Goran Višnjić, Will Yun Lee, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Terence Stamp also star. So the answer is no.
That was a TV pilot. I think they're going for movies that were meant to be released theatrically. (Yes, I'm including FF'94. I know it was made simply to keep the rights, but no one other than Corman knew that.)
“Nice helmet.” “Thanks, keeps my face pretty.” Dishonorable mentions: Green Goblin in the first Spidey movie (thank goodness Norman smashed that helmet in No Way Home), Harry’s goblin “costume” in Spidey 3, The Rhino in Amazing Spider-man 2, and most of everything new in Ant-man and Wasp: Quantumania… even Kang.
Green Lantern was not a bad costume and it is unfairly criticized for being CGI. If the ring makes the costume, CGI makes perfect sense. Captain America 1990 looks great for the budget and trying to look like the comics.
Spidey wears Red and Blue with Black spider web patterns with White lenses. Deadpool wears Red and Black with Katanas and Guns. Even a 5 year old kid can also tell the difference between the two for God's sake. These kids nowadays.🤦♂️
@@jeuryrabassa4724kids are never confused. It’s dumb adults and executives that can’t be bothered to respect source material and assume fans & kids are too stupid to tell the difference just because the execs themselves can’t.
And did you know that the new green lantern fan film has a way better costume without getting a big budget? They should've at least got a physical suit.
You forgot to mention the Captain America movie (1979) with Reb Brown that featured him in a director's cut costume, oversized motorcycle helmet, and his semi-transparent shield that doubled as his motorcycle windshield.
Yeah, even Nostalgia Critic poked fun of it before Linkara finally put a permanent end to that running gag when they shortly crossed over at the begin of his review of the comic adaptation of "Batman & Robin" itself there then
I actually liked Jared's performance as "The Joker". Not the funniest or even the most interesting, but I thought was the scariest performance. I really liked Captain America's first costume, but hated the spandex change in "The Avengers", which is my favorite movie of all the Avenger sequels. Also, I didn't care for Iron Man's nanotech suit. It look too much like a leotard and less like a powerful suit of mechanical armor. I even missed the mechanical whirring gear noises of the original suits. With the original technology it was much easier to suspend disbelief :)
I agree. The movie was bad imo, but his depiction of that version of the Joker was really good. People forget there are some really dark psychotic versions of the Joker. I feel 80% of the hate he got was because he followed Heath Ledgers performance and version of the Joker.
1:15 what? This one is a classic of the 80s and who cares if it’s “poorly designed“ it is deliberately bad considering he has a weird even for his people tastes in fashion. Besides he made a kick off the Lego mini figure for the Lego Batman movie
I have to disagree with Sabertooth. I thought he was better in the first X-Men and I loved his design. That suit he wore in the comics wouldn't work in live action. Also, that X-Men suit inspired the X-Men Evolution version of Sabertooth. X-Men origins Sabertooth was just a mirror image of Logan
Black Canary's costume is not a costume it's her casual wear. Also I liked the original Zod suit, it was good for the 70s. Same for Jaugernaght in Last Stand. 4tastic's Doom looks scary and is the only thing I like about that movie. I also like 2000s Sabertooth, WW84 Cheetah, and Apocalypse. I also actually like the Madame Web costumes, they looked interesting, too bad the movie sucked. And Dark Flash is pretty scary. Everything else l agree with.
Fox had comic accurate scrapped concept art for Apocalypse and in the words of Th3Birdman, Fox went "Nah, we know better than Jackson Guice, fuck him" combined with hell Isaac went through

i remember the promo they did for the upcoming release of captain america in marvel age comic, and you could clearly see a wonky folded ear on the close up picture. it was quite some time before i was able to see the movie and check out how bad it really was.
Honorable Mention to Sly Stallone's Judge Dredd. The actual costume looked decently comic accurate...and then they had Dredd take it off for 95% of the movie, instead walking around mostly in a plain black shirt and black pants. Complete waste of the wardrobe budget.
I am not going to lie. But Liev Schreiber being recasted as Sabertooth was the best decision. While sure the first actor was taller and more bulkier for a more villainous look. Liev playing the character just had a better fit too it
Really confused on some of these... is it bad if the costume being too accurate like in the 94 Fantastic Four and Barb Wire, or is it bad if the costume is too different like in the Birds of Prey and the 2015 Fantastic Four? Also, screw you, Zodd looks great in Superman 2!
Batman and Robin's costumes had nipples because their action figures had nipples. Their action figures had nipples because Mattel was cutting costs by recycling molds from previous lines that included bare-chested characters.
Madame Web, Origins Deadpool, Batman 97, Robin 97, Fan4stic, Green Lantern deserved to be on the list but so should have been Punisher 89 and Steel 97. Don't care that the Fantastic Four 1994 suits sucks since it was a very low budget made movie and they had to work with that they had with the money. Don't get the hate for Zod and Sabretooth's costumes by the way.
The suits for the 1994 Fantastic 4 movie may have looked goofy, but they were also probably accurate to the comic with the big 4 on the chest. The reboot was utterly roasted for lacking that detail. The Fantastic 4 just can’t win in the costume department.
