My boyfriend and I wanted to go to Venice for many years but we were afraid crowd of tourists would be a bore. We finally went in September 2020 when there were almost no tourists. And it was amazing. The city is incredibly beautiful, like a dream. We felt so lucky to be able to enjoy it in such rare conditions.
I am so jealous! Venice is my favourite city that i have been to. And the idea of being in Venice with minimal to no crowds must be amazing. The locals must be so happy. Hope to go to Venice 2021.
Thank you! I've booked a surprise trio to Venice on Saturday for my husband and I, as our honeymoon was cancelled in April. Because I'm doing all the planning, I feel like I need to be organised and this a great inspiration!
Thank you so much! :D Comments like your keep me motivated to make more videos. I'm sure you'll have a great time in Venice. It's more beautiful than ever. :)
Wonderful video Max. You are so right about the fun of getting lost in the back streets and alleyways. When my Mom and I visited we got separated for hours, and when we finally found each other, we had so many different stories to entertain each other. Truly a wonderful magical place.
Thank you! Yes, Venice has a very special magic to it. Especially at night when everything is quiet and you see the reflection of the lights in the water. Going for walks at night was one of my favorite things to do when I lived in Venice as a student.
I'm coming back home from Venice tomorrow, there really wasn't that many tourists compared to the usual amount, it was very peaceful being able to sit in the Piazza San Marco or Ponte De Rialto with there not being people cramped everywhere.
These beautiful Italian cities (Rome, Naples, Florence, Pisa and MIlan) deserve more viewers and you are really clever. You should also visit Turin (and underrated city) and smaller ones, which are even more impressive (Lucca, Siena, Matera, Lecce, Mantua, Verona, Urbino and so on).
You was very lucky to enjoy Venice without too many tourists! I will be there in few weeks and I hope for me something like that. Thank you for share your tips!
Your videos are so amazingly well done! I appreciate the time and effort you put into them. My daughters and I are planning a trip to Italy and we’re finding the information you present both useful and entertaining.
Just be aware that you may come across trains that are sold out into Venice I tried several times and sold out but it rained for a week I wouldn't have enjoyed it raining and taking trips to the outer islands in the lagoon to Burano isola And some train departures are more some less no flat steady rate fare So I didn't get to go and I'm just one person! Couldn't get a ticket from Milano centrale treno staztione ! Just heads up!
Try to stay with a family owned run Hotel and if possible a connected restaurant You should have better service and they will tend to look out more for you as group of ladies or single lady traveling alone !
Hello Max, we have booked a trip to Italy (North to South). Your videos are one of the best one out there I must say. Not to long, not too short and with a brief history. Way better than those videos who just like to act cute in front of the camera! I used some information I learned on your video on my itinerary. Just hope there are prices, entrance fees, directions next time. Subscribed! Cheers!
Hey Max, vielen vielen Dank für deine tollen Videos! Ich habe gestern meinen ersten Trip seit 2020 gebucht.Ich plane 8 Tage lang durch Italien (Venedig, Florence und Rom ) zu reisen. Mein erstes Mal in Italien. Deine Videos sind mega hilfreich weil ich echt nicht einschätzen konnte, worauf ich mich einstellen muss. Also nochmal, mega Videos und ich freue mich auf weitere! Viele Grüße aus Hamburg :)
When you visit Venice, one of the most beautiful things to do and that I recommend for tourists, even foreigner ones, is when you take the ferry or take a gondola ride and listen to Vivaldi's four seasons on headphones (especially spring or winter) and immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of the city. It is an unforgettable experience ❤💫💫
Wow how nice this video was brig's me memories , I've been to Venice 4 times and want to go again maybe next year ,I am never fed up watching videos about Venice ,love it so much. Thank you for the nice video ,but I wish I was there
I have visited Venice many time since to 70s. and it is so sad to see her empty at the moment, I would love to visit now but I cant. But I can dream...a Bellini (or 2) in Harry's and a room in the Gritti, just great. Im pleased you enjoyed your stay.you choice of ice cream was spot on, best in town. The train between Venice and Milan has improved so much now, you can pop to Milan shopping for a day trip.
Brought back great memories-thanks, Max! The Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute with Tintoretto's painting of the "Marriage at Cana-1561" in the sanctuary is amazing! The Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo with its external spiral staircase is worth a visit.
Well done !! Going there next week and I'll definitely use a lot of the info you offered I'll definitely look out for the 24h Vaporetto pass so I can see as much as possible from the water and take tons of photos & videos, maybe twice during my first 11 days trip in Venice & Florence ( then Venice, California in October LOL ) I must confess I'm so happy there are few tourists there right now.
Love Venice! And I am a new subscriber to your channel - can't believe I haven't seen it before. My daughter and I binge watched many of your videos tonight - we really enjoyed the history lessons you provide along the way. :)
Thank you.. That was fun. Off there tomorrow.. looking forward to seeing it without the hordes. Once in a lifetime I guess.....grab the opportunity....
Grazie mille. Love your tour and recommendations for sites and eateries. For me it is Florence first then on to Venice spring 2022. I think by then there will be a lot more tourists, but glad to have seen it in your videos with so few people crowding the streets. Either way, a great way to see these amazing Italian cities. Ciao
Thanks for all these recommendations, which helps me to check the missing tasks for my 72hours in Venise. My additional tip is to join a walking tour to know a little more about the city history (especially the city’s centuries are also severely impacted by other pandemics, like today) and some weird anecdotes.
Hello real nice videos I saw first the one that you have in Rome .as we : me , husband and son planing to go next year , arriving to Rome and go to Trento la citta dei miei nonni , I have to start seeing what could I visit in 14 days and Venice is one of them. I and husband will watch your videos , to see from where start and how to organize a nice trip, they are very helpful thanks.
Thank you! That's actually a very good question. When I was living there as a student the main nightlife was around Campo Santa Margherita. There was just one real club though, most other venues closed around midnight. Venice is usually very quiet and empty at night which adds to its magic. :)
@@maxnomadtravel Ahhh yeah see I want to explore Venice/Italy after 4pm (which I heard is the best time to avoid the crowds). And I would really like to enjoy some nightclubs in Venice ! Thanks man !
First, thank you so much for mentioning San Michel! I had the pleasure of visiting there back in 2005. In addition to Igor Stravinsky & Ezra Pound, San Michel also houses the graves of Serge Diaghilev, who gave Stravinsky his big break with the commission for the "Firebird" ballet, and Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari, another wonderful composer.
Max, what a wonderful video u've made here. Your voice sound is very clear when you explain thing in front of your camera. What microphone (or cam) did you use? Tks.
I've heard that on the little island just across from Piazza San Marco, there's another bell tower, from which you can get really good shots of the Piazza. AND - there's an elevator to the top of it! Also, somewhere not far from Teatro La Fenice, there's a beautiful spiral staircase on the outside of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo .
OMG...You are so cute and make such amazing videos - I don't understand how you have just so few subscribers... and my birthday is coming up in March - your videos from Italy helped me decide on my trip. Definitely going to Italy 🇮🇹 Thank you so much!
Thanks for the great video! I thought I couldn't fly a drone in Venice, but that doesn't seem to be this case. Was the Great View at the beginning of video taken by your drone? I wanna go travel to Italy SOON!! XD
The drone footage is stock footage from storyblocks.com. I didn't film it myself. I'm pretty sure you would need a special permit to fly a drone in Venice.
@@maxnomadtravel I see. thank you for your reply! I planning to visit Italy and other countries around Italy. But I am Japanese, so I don't know If I can go to Italy. If it is possible, I wanna take video by drone! Im looking forward it!
NOW Venice is 1600 years old id like to wish her a happy 16th k birthday. I cant find an official government webpage to do this on. Ive never been to Venice to visit and doubt I ever will be able to go. In the past tourism has been overcrowded the government might rethink how it lets people visit. And set a strict quota of visas issued for that city and a special tax. We see it in the movies as inchanting romantically warm. But you cant have this intimate relationship with a city bumping elbows with 500k more people then the streets can hold. You wont get the experience everyone sees in the movies. Its been more like Disney world and less like a accent city that lends its selfe to romance.
How it's now there can you travel? You need to have mask outside? I have booked hotel Tre Archi in 12 September and i come from Germany with the car. Any Tipp its usefull. Thanks
You definitely had a great time in Venice. I see you enjoy solo traveling? Do you like it more than traveling in company? What are the advantages and disadvantages of solo traveling for you?
I do like both but if I could choose I would prefer to travel with a friend or my girlfriend. The advantage of traveling solo for videos is that you don't annoy anyone with setting up your camera and filming your food from 10 different angles before eating it. The advantage of going with someone you know well is that you can share your experiences and joke around which can make the trip a lot more fun. If you travel by yourself it is often easier to meet new people, especially, if you are staying in hostels or using apps like couchsurfing or tinder.
@@maxnomadtravel Totally agree with you. It’s a combination of pros and cons like in everything in life. Keep having fun in your trips. I love Europe a lot, but unfortunately because of the pandemic I will probably fly again until next year. You are an inspiration! Hugs my friend!
