It's something hard to believe honestly and it's more they're trying to reject the idea of it possibly being true because it's such a shock and out of the norm. Some people have that reaction even when seeing it with their own eyes it's hard for the mind the process someone just dying/getting killed right in front of them.

I mean, if the child has a history of lying and exaggerating, I can understand why the parents would be a bit doubtful. I would still give my kid the benefit of the doubt, of course, because for something that serious it's better to be safe than sorry.

I don't understand it either, most kids aren't just going to make up stories, some parents are just ignorant.

If anyone is stalking and threatening you, folks, report it. Don’t put your hands on them, for any reason! Just tell any witnesses they are not your partner. They are stalking you and pretending to be in a relationship. That would have backed up his story. Then, leave alone, or call for a police escort and report what happened. I worked in domestic violence programs and have seen false charges filed by abusers.

I would give the same advice to women, people with a same sex partner, etc. Yeah, it was a big mistake for the male victim to not report the stalking and threats. Sometimes, police don’t take male victims seriously; but I worked in Domestic Violence programs and I’ve seen some abusers make a lot of false charges. Always make sure someone (officials, domestic violence advocates, etc.) has your side of the story! Often, domestic violence advocates aren’t allowed to testify in court, about what was reported to them, so it’s best to make a police report, if a partner is threatening or stalking you.

Absolutely. Though, they know when you do. They will hear when it starts recording cause it makes a sound at the start. Trust me, my baby momma got pissed at me for doing it without her knowledge but I didn’t gaf. I’m in a horrible situation with her now that could very well end like this or similar. I record pretty much every interaction with her now. I had to kick myself out of my own apartment 3 days ago just to get away from her cause she makes excuses of how she can’t afford to go anywhere else. Her and her family have started a smear campaign against me and I have no idea how far she’s willing to go.

Are you talking about the statement that it makes about women, or the lack of justice, in the end? I can see being put off by “They always believe the girl,” because women are, frequently, not taken seriously by law enforcement, either. I liked the story, up until that sentence was the conclusion. Clearly, the protagonist was the victim of a sociopathic abuser. When I worked in domestic violence services, I saw some males press bogus charges, to cover up the fact that they were the abuser (I had photos of wounds one had inflicted on his wife, because we offered to take them, to document abuse and more substantiated reports of abuse of the female, in other cases). There were a couple women who falsely claimed abuse, as well, due to paranoid disorders or possible Munchausen’s syndrome, in one case. The latter was also reporting a lot of medical problems that didn’t seem to exist and generally telling stories of horrible things that happened to her or her child, which I think were to get attention, as the child showed no signs of abuse or illness, which is not at all typical. However, I never saw a clear case of a woman framing a man, though it could have gotten past the staff. I also saw many cases, where women’s claims of clear abuse were not taken seriously. I saw the same thing happen to some men and people with same sex abusers. Some police did seem to believe stereotypes about abuse or think that people could just leave. Others were very supportive of victims. I don’t see it affecting one gender more than another, though some didn’t seem to take women seriously, like some doctors don’t. Some are just condescending to victims or patients, in general . There are policemen who are abusive themselves. They may be inclined to identify with the male, in an incident, which is scary. I think that the police officer who didn’t arrest Brian Landry, who later killed Gabby Petito, missed a lot of abuse signs. I think he should have been arrested, as there was a report of him hitting her, from a witness. However, she covered for him, by claiming responsibility and denying he hit her and Brian manipulated him. This could have happened to a male, but they did detain Gabby for saying she slapped him. Still, police need more training in what domestic violence looks like, because it’s not always an angry drunk man who is abusive. To say the female is always believed is a stretch, though.

Not true. There a plenty of wal marts that close. The one where I live in Wisconsin used to be 24 hrs but when covid hit they cha get to close at midnight and never went back. My mother in law works there and when i bring her in the morning before they open the lights are off and NO ONE is there. Maybe a couple workers but they are there for their shift they wouldn't have been there at 2 am
