Theres something special about this list. I don’t know what it is but after 6 years I’m still returning to watch it for the 20th time. Maybe its nostalgia, maybe its something else, but I love this video and its proceeding one so much
It's definitely nostalgic, at least for me. I used to constantly watch and rewatch these two videos when I was around ten or eleven, and now I'm an adult with fond memories of this list. I literally have it nearly memorized, lol. :')
This will always give me so much nostalgia. I loved this video so much and heard the intro song recently and got chills immediately. Remembered this legend for the third time lol
Anyone else revisiting this ol' thing in 2020? Crazy to think its been 8 freakin years now since I first watched this video for the first time. Time flies huh?
there are only two reasons that I managed to like the armoghoma fight, depite screaming like a banshee everytime I see a spider: 1.) it's a well-designed fight with interesting mechanics. 2.) CRUSH IT! SMASH IT LIKE THE WORTHLESS BUG IT IS UNTIL THE ENTIRE FOREST IS GONE!
@@reptile1677 can't spell arachnid right and there isn't a type of spider just called arachnid.. every single spider we know of is called "arachnid" idiot
This is a video with something tons of media lack, by far the main reason why it's even still here and why it's so nostalgic.. this has heart, and love put into it. 10 years later and still a masterpiece, thank you.
I played the MM remake as kid, not long after it came out, but I only got as far as the Pirate's Fortress. I've never actually seen the Link statue in the remake. If the original looks so creepy, and it's even worse in the remake... maybe it's a good thing I never got that far. Pretty sure I would've gotten nightmares at that age. 😂
22. Me- Oh Stalchildren how boring lame! Guy- So the next time you go out at night, be sure to stay on the path. Otherwise, *creepy pic appear and says in a dark voice* they get you! Me- Okay I scarred O.O!
I don't really care about the spiders in the other Zelda games. Twilight Princess spider? I shrieked and jumped when I saw the spider. See, I have worse arachnophobia than a child of Athena. DAMMIT I HAD ARACHNOPHOBIA BEFORE ATHENA CREATED ARACHNE
not all of it was scary for me however it did and does still does remind me of what i used to think was scary. like the phantoms man whenever i was in their sight i intensely started freaking out i when they came close i was screaming and crying with fear! then... THEN!!! i had to take something off the phantoms i was already shitting myself and had no idea how i was going to do it. thankfully i did it with ease
Till this day hearing the Aliens theme from Majora's Mask still give me chills. I remember defending the farm from them. You only have on chance and if you fails then that's it. You'll need to wait for another play thorough to do it again. Slow the time help but not the creepy song.
Nehal yes you got to love that game you got a haunted ship an mysterious person who you travel with on his boat a temple that is just so freaking huge that you have to constantly revisit and a man who ends up turning into a whale at the end so what is there not to like in this game it is just so good.
A stroll through the meadows of your mind, as the sun light flutters down onto your face. The warm air swirls around you as you feel every breath the world takes. You open your eyes and see a cloud, it looms in the distance, but comes closer, with it's brothers in tow. A darkness cascades over the land, wrapping you in the sharp, fearful chill of night. You run, but the creatures of darkness surround you, taunt you, draw closer to you. Your eyes shut yet again. You feel the breath of your skin, and the intensity of their gaze on your soul. You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?
I have something creepier. In real life, say you choose lucky charms over Cinnamon Toast Crunch. You just created a parallel universe were you chose cinnamon toast crunch. When Link uses the Song of time, he creates a new universe that he is in, and he just abandoned the old universe he was in, and the moon kills everyone in that universe, except link, who narrowly escaped, and left them to die, and created a new universe, just to kill these people instead.
It's an interesting perspective, but I like to think that what is rather happening is that the timeline is reversing, while link is taken through a portal that allows him to escape the timeline, keep his his memory, and then manifest back to the point where the timeline was reverted to.
I agree on the redead guys. I'm a bit freaked out by the stone guys that come to life but I'll go kill them if I have to but REDEAD??!! I'm a bit more reluctant, I especially hate how they scream and gnaw on your brains O_o
I honestly prefer Zant over Giriham because he has a creepy and threatening presence (and his theme is disturbing) and then you find out how he was driven to insanity through a fraction of Ganondorf's power. Zant's tranformation from being calm and creepy to batshit insane and just plain weirs (NGL, his face is fucking funny) but his battle is one of my personal favourites in the entire series. c:
the octos in wind waker made me FEAR all water in ALL games. I wouldn't touch that game after i encountered it. I couldnt even kill it so i was just stuck yelling in terror though i was young when this happened
Honestly I think the creepiest thing about the Zelda games is how the entire time you're playing Majora's Mask, Link is actually dead. He dies when he falls into that abyss in the beginning of the game, and the whole rest of the game is about him trying to reconcile himself with death. What could be more creepy than that?
PlayLikeMe Oh. So many people unwittingly plagiarize game theory and it pisses me off. I mean, I love their show, but it's not total fact like so many people make it to be
Ghirahim is actually one of the worst Zelda villains ever for a few reasons. 1: He never poses a threat. You beat him in literally the first temple... the main villain for most of the plot is the first boss. And you beat him every time. 2. He's just bumbling around not really knowing what he's doing. Every time you run into him he makes some remark about how you interrupted his investigation or that he followed you somewhere. 3. He's not in the slightest bit intimidating. He's just a pervy fashionista rapist. Now let's look at Zant. He starts off the game by single-handedly taking over Hyrule castle, locking up Zelda, and shrouding the world in twilight from another dimension. He nearly kills Link and Midna without even touching them. Not to mention, he's genuinely scary. His calm demeanor and terrifying scream give him a startling presence.
That's where your wrong. Ghirahim does pose a constant threat. It's like a game of cat and mouse. He doesn't act directly, but the way he does act, it seems he is trying to indirectly kill you. Throughout every area, excluding Skyloft, it feels like something could happen as a result of Ghirahim.
Fangtopiancommander In your opinion if anything. Actually , dewbs815 has a very valid point. Compared to enemies like Zant, Yuga or Ganondorf, who proved threatening by doing things like beating Link more than once, Ghirahim does show little to no threat because every time you face him, you either wreck his plans or beat the shit out of him.
He never poses a threat? All the events that took place in the Skyward Sword were orchestrated by him! I agree, however, there are more intimidating villains in the Zelda series. Ghirahim was more freaky than intimidating. But he did pose a threat.
Second quest. if you beat the game once, and re-start it in the same file log, you will go through the whole game with the beginning outfit since the hero clothes will supposedly become invisible.
ONE of, didnt say 'the' best of. And admit it, he is creepy yet if even more so thusly so satisfying to kick the crap out of. ^_< ESP after you figure out his gimick in the 1st temple. His fascist devotion and loyalty to his master is also rather admiral once you get past how fucking creepy or odd he is. (loyalty is a big deal & quite honorable.)
He's the only good villain from Skyward sword, Demise is just generic evil, the only thing that saves him is his gargantuan nose and the fact that he reincarnates into Ganondorf.
Even though most of what they say is true. All the symbolism is what I'm talking about. I never said I believe Link is dead, I just said that what they say in that video makes the game creepier in general.
Also, the floormasters are not only in Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, they're also in Spirit tracks, but with 2 differences: One, they're called "Keymasters" and Two, they only chase you if you're carrying the Temple's boss key.
What fanboys do on their free time is just pitiful Fanboy:I'm bored What can I do today I know I'll go to someone's channel and bitch at them for stupid reasons, troll people who don't share my opinion, complain about pointless crap, annoy everyone, and make myself look like a total prick Yeah That sounds like fun
Yeah, here is the complete run through. #11: tingle #10:tingle #9:tingle #8:link with bunny ears #7: tingle #6:tingle #5:pinkguy #4:tingle #3:navi's vagina, and that it isn't a coincidence that all the letters of navi's name show up in the word vagina. #2:tingle again. #1: Charo's cameo. Hope this helped.
+Emma van Wageningen there is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. Actually, a friend of mine is gay and even he find Girahim gay. Gay is not only used for homosexual terms you know, also did i mentioned more things that annoy me about him and that's the cliches he represents. With the tongue and swordlicking. I've seen those actions a million times in many anime villains.
"Armogohma is way more realistic than the original gohma which isn't even an ARACHNID!" "Hey Rabbid?" "Yes?" "Spiders!" "Oh fuck you..." Those lines made me laugh so hard. And then the bathroom spider clip, that was hilarious.
I actually remember someone did a fancomic about Link meeting the Great Fairy in OOT. She shrieks and starts talking, only to notice the kid looks terrified. Then Link starts bawling his eyes out and crying. So the Great Fairy has the realization that "Ah crap I scared this eight year old" and just talks more softly. While Link is trembling and rubbing at his eyes. But the Great Fairy just is overkill gentle and gives him the spell to pacify his fears. Noting to herself after Link leaves, "Why would I scream for an intro what was I even thinking?!"
SUPER TRAIYAN!!!! Also what I find really freaky in majora's mask is when you go to the sea. What I find freaky is that you practically steal a dead zoro's identity.
The running joke of my family is that when ever we are at the scene at 17:13 we then imitate a flamboyant guy and say "MMMHHHHH YOU SMELL OF LAVENDER!!!!" At the top of our lungs. So yeah... I also scream it in voice chat in tf2
I hated the Starchildren in OoT. Running up to Hyrule, and then 20 feet away, the gate rolls up. I always just curled up in my impenetrable fetal position until morning came. That, or just chill in the river until morning. :)
I completely agree with #19! GOOD LORD NINTENDO! Why'd you have BONES BEING BROKEN IN THE BACKGROUND OF THAT SCENE!?!?!?! Almost anything would be better than that, even the most horrible, frightening, BONE CHILLING Gannon laugh in Zelda history!
I remember thinking that this was the scariest shit ever as a child, like the sudden Elegy pop-up made my 10 year old self shut off my phone and I was too scared to watch the rest. Still, these kinds of lists I would watch in the early 2010s hold a special place in my heart considering how much I used to binge them.
The skultula house in kakariko village's backstory used to freak me out. They were cursed humans turned into spiders, and the more skultula tokens you collected the more the curse reversed. Their house was soo creepy
6:25 I walked in on my brother watching this when I was 5 and this was my basic reaction. "Hey James, you watching a Zelda video, can I watch to?" "AHHHHH NEVER PLAY GAMES AGAIN!!!"
Just information for luigi's peeps out there. There are Floormasters and WallMasters. Floormasters are the ones that take you back to the dungeon beginning while Wallmasters fly around and if killed change into 3 mini ones. Also if given enough time, the Mini Wallmasters will morph back together.
The windwaker great fairy is creepier because it looks like that creepy kid with lifeless eyes who is a serial killer in the making. They put the wind waker redeads above the oot ones? They look cute when compared to the OoT redeads.
You know I found this a few months after it came out. I was like 12 then. I've watched this video and its sequel so many times I basically have it memorized. But the way you two narrate this list struck a chord with me and here I am sitting down to listen to it again 5 years later. Its one of my favorite "top lists" of all time. Very well done both of you
As a kid the redeads and gibdos in the shadow temple and even castle town freaked me the hell out. I would avoid going into clock town unless I actually had to, I put off the shadow temple until as late as possible on each play-through.
My comment for #12: The shadows the Wall Masters make was changed from a circle to an outline of a Wall Master in the 3DS remake. Let's just say that I was ecstatic about that change, as it made knowing what was about to happen a lot easier.
With the human Link statue, I actually saw a theory to explain why it looks so…that. Basically, they theorized that since Link was made an adult back in Ocarina of Time and is now stuck back in his child body, the song can’t differentiate wether he’s an adult or a child, so it instead does a horrifying combination of both.
We were screeching and having shivers down our back and jumping around on the couch when my sister Christie (who made it to Zant's Palace first) was doing the bit with the hands. The hands in any of the games - Wallmasters, ceiling masters, et cetera. . . Those things just make us jump, shriek, and generally be terrified. (Again, this was while Christie was playing the game.)
My fanfic. SilverSpace(Me as a pony):"Aaahhh......peace and quiet in hyrule." *draws sword as I hear something behind me* ???:"So,want to talk?" SilverSpace:"Ghirahim, shut up.I don't want to talk." Ghirahim:"Haters." *picks up bag of skittels* SilverSpace:"Hey,guess what?" Ghirahim:"What." *throws bag of skittles at him* SilverSpace:"TASTE THE F*CK*NG RAINBOW!"
I was doing Ganon's Castle yesterday and was in the Spirit Trial (Ocarina of Time). It took me a few minutes to realize there was a spider web blocking the light, and so I stood still to fire an arrow. The MOMENT I shoot it, a Wallmaster comes out of NOWHERE (I didn't even get a shadow effect!) and whisks me away. I was screaming in both terror and frustration. The only thing that kept me from throwing the controller is that it's got a limited lifespan, as it's on an original Nintendo 64.
The Shadow Temple was terrifying to me when I was first playing Ocarina of Time - When I was _seven._ I had to play the game without the sound on, and all of the lights had to be on and I had to have at least one other person in the room. _I could only play the game after dinner in the dark at eight o' clock because of a fight I got in with my brother over who got to play the game._
