There are spectacular plays made in baseball all the time and I'm talking about things that are Far more impressive than an outfielder catching the ball behind their back. I'm not going to attempt to explain all of the amazing and incredibly athletic plays that are made in baseball. But I will just say that my favorite type of play is whenever an outfielder throws a runner out at 2nd, 3rd or home. Right fielders usually have the strongest arms because they have to make the throw to third from a greater distance then centerfield or left field. It's also impressive to see a catcher throw runner out from their knees. They type of play most people enjoy seeing are diving catches, infielders having to be creative with their method of throwing or tossing the ball to get an out at 1st or at 2nd particularly for double plays. Anyone that questions the athleticism of professional baseball players more than likely isn't much of an athlete themselves and probably never has played baseball because anyone with half a brain would realize that outfitters have to be fast in order to be able to run down balls, hitting the gaps or head over their heads or head up against the wall and being able to jump high also comes in handy for robbing home runs. And filters or middle in filters particularly have to be incredibly quick home. Certain places as well. And outfielders third baseman shortstops catchers also need to be able to throw a baseball. Really fucking well and the same muscles that are required for running sprints effectively and dunking a basketball are used when throwing a baseball 90 plus. Fast which muscles and most people don't realize that baseball players have to run 60-yard dash and tryouts so clearly speed is a factor. Baseball may have a slower paste and say basketball but during individual plays everything is wide open with players running down the baseball. Trying to get it in quickly from the outfield or infillers. Trying to get a runner out at first, second or third as quickly as possible. I mean there's too many scenarios to list

A spinning catch is hard enough on a flat trajectory. On a fly ball it's more difficult. And add a jump and it gets very difficult.
