I am sure they do well. All I did was use a K&N drop in air filter on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 (6.2L). $40. No issues, no computer tweaking, and noticeable higher RPM airflow/power. Also best to use 93 octane gas with some Royal Purple octane booster. These 6.2L engines make better power with high octane fuel (it's in the owner's manual). Now, who makes a canned tuner for these newer 6.2L trucks? I reached out to three companies and none have one for my truck. Not even inTune.
There is the Range Pulsar that is similar to a programmer but it will not have any updates for the ECU to allow for more power. It will allow you to adjust for throttle response, tire size, gear ratio, and speed limiter.
@@PhastekTrucks -- Thanks. I had a DiabloSport inTune i3 on my last truck and loved it. It did everything. The Range Pulsar LT is decent and works with the 6.2 /10-speed. I do like it being able to disable the AFM/DOD but, would nice if it could also disable the Auto Start/Stop. It sure would be nice if DiabloSport made one for the 6.2L, 10-speed and did everything like my old one...I just checked, they don't make one. I reached out to them and only heard crickets (no response from them).

Nice vid. I installed the K&N kit as I have used their products for decades with outstanding results. That being said...kinda liking the one in the middle. But already made the move. Speaking of which, there is a definite difference in sound...a mild "4 Barrell" moan. But sounds great!!! And a very noticable power increase. A special note, the instructions are clear and easy. The other literature has a Dyno graph of the 6.2 showing nice 15hp increase and a WHOPING 30lb increase in torque!! (You will vary as diff altitudes, etc) I am pleased with the purchase and improvements and haven't even made my first payment yet. Brand New RST Silverado with L84 5.3. Even with traction control on it still spins the crap out of the tires and with a 3.23 posi...I averaged 24.5mph on the 104mile round trip to Summit racing to purchase the system all on bone stock air system. Sunday March 30th 2020. Now as we are in a "lock down" from the CV-19, I have yet to repeat the same trip to compare mpg Ave. But sat Cruze on 76mph and all interstate with zero traffic. Again, nice vid. Now on to another muffler....thinking flowmaster or Borla. Hummmmm

Just installed a flowmaster 40 series muffler inn place of the stock one Very little interior resonance but a tiny bit noticable...exterior kinda the same...although I haven't let anyone drive by me. Lol But check this out!!! City driving went up to 19.5 with stop and go and not much over 55 mph. Wow. Not bad at all. Next mod.... ceramic window tint and bed liner and side steps, and gloss black powder coat the factory wheels I just wanna rid in it. This CV-19 lockdown is ok...I respect it, but I just wanna ride!!! 743 miles to date (haven't taken a road trip again to see about the highway mpg at 76mph again...but I will)
Ok after a 104mile road trip I got 26.8 Ave mph at 76 mph. Now are the stock intake and exhaust holding back power and mph??? My example says YES!!! VERY PLEASED!!! God bless us all!!
Francisco Domenech just do a muffler delete and with tour 6.2L you should still have resonator cans. So many people adding exhausts and not getting the tones they want especially on the 5.3L platform due to the resonator mesh inserts in the rear after the dual wye split. Bunch of video on this and they sound great. I went this route with 2020 5.3L (L84) over a catback for $70 and 20min of my time at a muffler shop. Wrapped the mesh inserts with heat tape. My favorite add thus far
Actually AFE performance momentum gt is the best cai street legal passes emissions and it bumps 40hp tuned on my 2015 Silverado Ltz 6.2 made in Corona, CA USA
Does anyone have any insight on how these three compare to say Banks, AFE Power, and others? How did these listed ones here make their top list? Just by sponsorship or actual proven returns via MPG/HP/etc?
The 63-3084 has a small filter alongside the large one. This is the number K&N said is for my 2014 Cadillac CTS 3.6L. What do I do with the small filter?
They don't add power. I've seen plenty of dyno results. Nothing beats the stock air box. You simply just need a tube and a drop in filter. If you want sound, waste your money on a CAI.
@@jesse1486 1. Paper filters can hold way more dirt. 2. Paper filters air better than mesh/oil 3. Paper requires no maintenance 4. There is no hp/fuel mileage advantage with either filter.
@@MrPAULONEAL a k&n and recharge kit can buy you at least 150k miles of paper filters. Maybe more. If you’re that worried about cost then maybe you should trade in your car for a bicycle.
@@Maverick09171 last part is false. If you're pairing a CAI with an aftermarket exhaust, it's proven to enhance HP and fuel mileage. Without an exhaust is pretty pointless tho
Phastek Trucks the reprogramming allows for thee additional airflow and recalibration of the mass flow air sensor. If you don’t do this, you won’t see the full benefits.
I just installed this on my AT4. The GM performance system allows for 17% more airflow. The Airflow meter will not see this and will run rich. Reprogramming is a must especially if your combining it with a aftermarket exhaust. So you don’t get the performance Gains without the reprogramming

Here's a serious question. Which one is CARB approved and legal for use in California? I have a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 w/6.2L that could really use the extra air from one of these.
There is a supercharger unit that will fit your model but the issue will come down to tuning. The 21 models are still being worked on by various tuning companies. Unfortunately we do not have much experience with the factory performance intake at this time. We hope to have our hands on it at some time so we can verify the quality behind it. We have seen other factory performance intakes and the quality is great with those but we always like to confirm just to be sure.

Unfortunately the intakes in this video are not CARB legal. Finding a full system like these are hard to come by and be CARB legal. Right now we only have a few kits that are CARB legal but they are not complete with the boxes that you see in this video. Most of the systems that are legal are only a tube and filter replacement.
That might not be possible, we dont know 100% since we do not sell the Rough Country products yet. We do know that the intake systems for the 2014-2018 models are on the Passenger side of the engine bay and the 2019-2021 models are on the Driver side of the engine bay. This would cause fitment issues if you tried to adapt a system that was not built for that model.
We've not tried the Corsa. But they don't require a tune and are easy to maintain. We really like our Roto-Fab and that's an open box. I believe Corsa has closed box for the 21 trucks. I wAnna get this one too but do I have to tune they said these need a tune or it might get a check engine light and run ruff I installed intakes on all my other cars and never a issue is it plug n play or does it need a tune ?
Unfortunately we have not come across an intake system that passes CARB. We do know that you can change the filter in the factory box and you will be just fine.
Order from summit racing, they can shit to Cali, just got my intake in from them… they do “special orders” and will get the product out to us here in Cali
S Sanchez because the added air requires an ECU reprogramming and recalibration. The additional air is not being sensed with the system. That’s why the GMC performance intakes call for reprogramming at the dealership. All of these CAI basically require it.
@@ssanchez7690 I’ve heard something about disconnecting the battery for 30 min and then connecting it back they say it reprograms the computer and it should work, not very sure if it works

Alej C think of the 4.3 like a off brand smart phone and try to find a good quality otter box for it. Probably won’t find 1. 5.3 and 6.2 LT models LTZ are like your apple iPhone and your high end Samsung

Alej C wow, thx I think? I just got a 2020 trail boss with the 4.3 in it, for a full size truck, and I had a v6 Silverado 4 by 4 before. It does have some get up and go to it.
@@raptor074 The Raptor has twin turbos and is tuned from the factory. There is no N/A truck driving circles around any of GM's motors. The 4.3 V6 is a best in class N/A motor that has proven itself for decades.
@@raptor074 Ford Raptor makes 450 bhp and 510 btq. Chevy Silverado with the 6.2 V8 and GM Performance catback exhaust and CAI makes 434 bhp and 469 btq. Both run the same 10-speed transmission. 16 bhp and 41 btq is hardly "running circles" around the competition. The Chevy weighs 400-600 lbs less. There are several other factors to consider too, but from what I've seen these trucks are fairly equal, except for offroading. Rumor has it, GM has a fix for that coming in about a year, and Ford needed to bump the next Raptor to 750 bhp in order for Ram and Chevy to not run circles around it.
Don't use CAI. Probably the worst customer service out there. I ordered it then decided against it and returned it. I had to pay $25 to return ship it. The item was never even installed and they were trying to come up with a reason to not give me a full refund. I sent them a crappy email about how unprofessional they were and the response I got in a nutshell was "too bad". I won't recommend them or use them again. Hope anyone else that ordered from them has a better experience
Nice stuff....my at4 came with the performance package and has a GM intake....however, dealer won't touch it and they say to clean only with soap and water. May switch it out due to lack of information out there
Donald Thomason what does the manual say you maintenance it? How does GMC recommend you clean it? I’ve heard GMC has a pretty good tech line and support. You may want to call them. The dealerships are clueless! If not, find out the manufacturer of the CAI and see how they recommend you clean it. For example, the performance exhaust is made by Bourla. It’s the touring model. Find out the same for the CAI. I’m picking up my AT4 tomorrow.
@@JebClarke902 YES! You are correct. If you order the GM performance exhausts, it is essentially the Borla Touring exhaust and has the exact same sound. They have a couple of different versions that alter the exhaust tips...quad vs. an exhaust that fits seamlessly to retain the rectangular factory exhaust tips. The parts department can show your tip options visually and you pick what you want. The Performance exhaust is slightly less loud as the S-type but no drone, and it takes off the raw edge. Also, the DFM alters the exhaust sound when activated, and this exhaust gives you the slight pops and bangs when DFM is activated. It’s very cool especially when the back window is open
Pretty disappointed in this product from CAI and their customer service/company. I had worse gas mileage, my shift points were horrible and almost felt like my transmission was slipping at times. I was told by customer service to remove the item after 1200 miles of it trying to, "Learn" the computer and re-install my stock in take. Then after 200 miles re-install the CAI intake. I had to pay my own shipping back to the company for a refund and then wasn't credited a full refund. Awful experience.
