Use these 3 drills to improve your sprint speed!
•Clip 1: Our kneeling walk drill helps the athlete with understanding how to initiate movement of the femur from the hip while keeping the calf close to the hamstring. We use the PVC pipes to ensure that we’re keeping a rigid torso and good posture.
•Clip 2: Kneeling swing leg drill. Same emphasis of kneeling walks just with staggered stance. Great 1st step drill for sprinters and/or 40yd dash prep.
•Clip 3: Banded Acceleration: These resisted starts give the athletes and coaches instant feedback on proper force application. By keeping the calf close to the hamstring, the athlete is able to efficiently apply force “down and back”, underneath center mass.

My take on these Drills 1. Is a posture drill. The athlete must create a neutral spine by pulling the belly button in and tucking the hips. Drill 2. Good Drill for the start of a race first 2 steps by pulling from the hip using the hip flexor and also getting a low heel recovery. Drill 3. Is a excellent strength drill for the push phase of the start to be able to propel the hips forward using the glutes and quads getting In the right angle to push with power. Combination of drill 1 and 2

I can attest that these are not the top 3 drills to improve acceleration. The third one gets an honorable mention, but the other 2? Naw.

1st 1 with the pvc pipe is so that you maintain a relatively upright position and don't lean back or forwards.

hardly anything... especially the first one. I mean they're decent drills but to even begin to think they're two of the top 3 drills to improve acceleration is comical. The last one is by far the best one and super beneficial
