I'm from Sri Lanka, and i was an intern there last summer! I'm so glad that you have shown Sri Lankan Airlines Sam as it is an airline that has improved recently, especially in the business class area with their new A330 aircraft's!
I have status with one world. I paid extra $$$ to fly Sri Lankan at an inconvenient hour to earn miles and be able to use the lounge and perhaps do a business class upgrade bid. I got an email, however the bid did not work. The next day, the staff were so rude to me and would not let me use the lounge and they called the police on me. I am fed up with one world and stopped flying American Airlines, what is the point of spending all that money and when it comes to utilizing my status, I was challenged, although I had called and verified with Sri Lankan agents that I was able to use the lounge. They made me wait at the front desk for over an hour to see a supervisor and would not even allow me to drink a cup of water. I could not believe how disgraceful the Sri Lankan staff and the management were. I would never pay and fly on Sri Lankan, a terrible airline. To make the matters worse, my special meal was not boarded, the seat back was broken, could not watch any entertainment, & the purser did not do anything in return!

I was on their business class last week. Pretty disappointed that there was no flat bed but that's ok for 44 Kuwaiti dinar. Anyways it was a ok flight...

That's what happen to me. Seats next to the window. Me and my Dad and the screen didnt work so I moved there. A lot of space. And once me and my Dad booked a gulf air seat with 2 next to the window. And the windows seat had a big space where you could stretch

I loved the Oman Air Business Class on my flight from Zurich to Bangkok. Having a 1-2-1 seat arrangement it alsmost felt like First Class and as stated in the video it was very good value for the price.

I worked in Bogota as a contractor for the codeshare project between Avanca and Delta from April, 2003 until January, 2004. I could fly in a business class of Avianca from Bogota to/from New York (or Miami) several times - during weekends or holidays. It was a good experience. Food was nice. Now, I can see the business class of Avianca looks much better than that time. Thank you, Sam.

Avianca is even excellent on domestic flights in Brazil. I flew Avianca a few times, between Rio (SDU) and São Paulo (CGH), and service, for a short flight and economy class, was brilliant.
Excellent video. Especially interested in the Sri Lanka Airlines part, as we're planning business class fights there in the New Year. They previously didn't have a great reputation, but from your film, it looks like they've 'upped their game'. Worth having a look as an alternative to the Emirates flights we were planning.

I hope the actual food in Colombia is much better! This is one of the reasons I always order Hindu meals when I travel. Unfortunately American Airlines discontinued Hindu meals on their flights.

Thanks for the tip on Oman Air. Looking at using them for flight to London next year. I understand they have very different seats on the newer aircraft and the old A330 from what is on the new B787. I have heard that the new seats are a bit sterile by comparison.

Sam, I’m an avid fan and subscriber to your flight reports. Thank you! Also being an aviation nut, I watch other contributors but they’re not a patch on yours. I have a question... sometime one is able to hear the comms between the airport’s ground control and the flight deck prior to take off and during the first part of the flight. How is this done? I’ve looked online but advice is many years old and not helpful. Could you shed any light on this please?
