I've found that putting the Sisterlocks shampoo in a spray bottle is really helpful. It makes it get sudsy like many people are used to. Also outside of a spray bottle, it's really liquidy as you mentioned so the spray bottle seems to make it easier to distribute and less wasteful.

Diluting the SL shampoo reduces the dryness and itching. Thank you for the great information. I like your honesty and professionalism. We know SL is strict.

Good Video. I personally like the Almocado strands together shampoo for my sisterlocks and have been using them since 2015 when I was 8months in to my journey. I'm over 2yrs now and it does help cleanse my scalp but I would love to try the products you suggested as well.

My problem with Sisterlock products are they take so long to ship! After getting my Sisterlocks, I placed one order for their shampoo and it came in a package too small and half the product was in the plastic bag it was encased in for shipping! I called to either get a refund or another one sent and I haven't heard back from them; that's been over 3 years ago! I found a great product line that I've been using ever since and it works GREAT!

Suave clairfing shampoo is great to use. Loctician told me to use it for two yrs. Works for me my hair is down my back. I don't use any products. Shampoo some time.

so what do you think about "dry locking" Sisterlocks? Im on my second set of Sisterlocks (long story). But for certain reasons, I decided on dry cleansing my scalp and hair (more details can be given if needed). when I had traditional locks this "celebrity" stylist would do scalp cleansing on me because she said my texture would take a long time to lock (I took them out after 2 years because they didn't lock lol) and to prevent bunching. all of her clients hair looked BEAUTIFUL, so I trusted her judgment, and I thought that this would be a good idea to try it out now with my Sisterlocks. So far I am extremely happy about the results! it looks like all the bloggers hair on youtube who have all these perfect locks from start to finish as opposed to looking like a shag rug or a wet dog like I did before (I used Sisterlocks products and banded properly and religiously). So my biggest issue now is wanting to know when I should transition from dry washing to "wet" washing my hair with traditional shampoos again. and when I do, should I begin to band again like my Sisterlocks are freshly installed. Hi. This video is almost a year old, so I was wondering if Kinky-Curly Come Clean was a shampoo you considered for this video. It's great for hard water (which is really bad where I live), and from what I can see the ingredients look okay. I already use this shampoo for my loose natural hair, and I really like it (plus it's accessible). I'll be getting my hair SL'd between Spring and Summer. Here are the ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Mandarin Orange Fruit, Organic Marigold Flower, Organic White Willow Bark, Organic Sea Kelp, C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Derived), Phytic Acid, Citric Acid, Sea Salt, Phenoxyethanol and Natural Fragrance. I saw another video of someone with Sisterlocks and she was having a great deal of dryness and itchiness as well from using the SL shampoo and her consultant recommended the Sisterlocks shampoo for dandruff and she gave an extremely positive testimonial about how it solved all her dry scalp issues. I cannot use anything with sulphites because I Henna my hair and the two don't mix well. Thanks so much for these great tips. I love the shampoo comb, great idea! Where do you get them?

How do you feel about using Suave clarifying shampoo as an alternative? Also I'm five months in to my sisterloc journey and I'm trying to cover my grays. I have used a temp. spray color only on the gray strands not too much. It doesn't feel like it has effected my locs but do you recommend it? Or an alternative? Because I need to cover those suckers! ha

I have to first complement you for making the effort to share any knowledge gained to us less fortunates 😊...🙄but as true as it is an up there is a down. 😕It is not right to catfish your audience with the picture of a woman with a head full of long Locs. I understand that a picture is what you make of it... But let's be honest. We are visual creatures and rely on sight more times than none. That picture... screams experience and years of trial and error to accomplish what we hope to one day. 😳You...screams sweet... ambitious...but a newbie. 😑we all have to start out somewhere to be great one day. 🤔but a little advice sweetpea...gain your new viewers with honesty and nothing less. This is bullshit, folks use different shampoos and products and do fine. Her hair doesn't look like sister locs, but tacky dreads...
