This video needs more views. Thank you for being so empathetic yet knowledgeable. I have plateaued for 3 months. Yes months. I am going to concentrate on relaxation this week - I realise I’ve been overzealous and need to chill out and do things more stepwise as your older video on this matter has suggested. I have created a massive calorific deficit and I’m also training (intense cardio sessions for 30-60 mins 5 days a week working in zone 5). The more I do and see no results the more I try and the more stressed I get every day when I step on the scale. Gently does it. Thank you.

Update: It’s just 4 days later. I have done the following and lost 3.8lbs as a result. Remember. I was overdoing things. 1. No gym visits. I exercised gently every day just by walking. 2. I calmed all the way down. I did several relaxation audios. Also did hypnosis for stress relief. (Reduced my cortisol). 3. I had a day off where I ate over 2,000 calories. During that day I ate carbs. (Yeah I had fries AND lasagne 😊). Then I went back to eating less calories than I was expending. 4. I drank water to ensure I was properly hydrated. Green tea, black tea and the odd cup of coffee (in the AM only). 5. I have great difficult sleeping so I made every effort to get into bed on time, create the right environment conducive to sleep. Avoided blue light before bedtime had an Epsom salt bath and did a progressive muscle relaxation exercise in bed to help me fall asleep. I woke 7 hours later and felt so much more positive and energised. 6. I actually tried on some of the clothes I had difficulty getting into before and some of the trousers fit again so I knew I was losing inches so this was likely water weight. This made it easier to become calm again and trust the process. Please, if you are going at it hard and not getting results on the scale so you double down in your efforts then the scale doesn’t move for days or even weeks, take a break and calm down. I can’t believe the weight loss showed up on a day when I’ve been lounging on my bed watching RU-vid all day 😂 Thanks for this video!

man you need to be more popular cuz ur knowledge is top notch. i have hit plateau for like a week. lost 35 pounds in 2 months with 1200 cals intake and 650 cals burned everyday working out and cardio. went to vacation and came back 16-22 may and gained 2 kilos but lost 3 kilos after 5 days. but from last 1 week i didnt lost even a kilo, so i ate 4000 cals yesterday to put my metabolism to work, i kinda ate everything i craved and back to 1200 cals from today. I have seen body composition compared to last 3 weeks though so not sure what it was. So hopefully it starts going off from now. I am 94 kg on june 3rd, i was 95 on may 8 and since then cuz of vacation and plateau, havent gone much down. Let me knowif you have any recommendation. Otherwise love ur videossss!!!

Great info man! Thanks for covering the newbie gains. Man that gets overstated so much for folks trying to gain muscle in a deficit. Not optimal. And the tracking part. Intuitive eating when you aren’t experienced at dieting is NOT ideal. Track for a bit and spot ck after that

Thanks for the video. I have been trying to lose weight now for a year. went from 350lb to 250lb in 9 months and been at a plateaux for 3 months. I exercise 6 days a week. I know trackers are not completely accurate but depending on the day burn between 2800 to 3600 calories and eat approximately 1600 calories (I track everything), drink 2 litres of water a day, sleep on average 6 hours a night. Really getting frustrated in not seeing the scales budge

I started eating 1200cal a day about 2 months ago along with walking/weights 4-5 days a week and have dropped 20lbs. However, the last 2-3 weeks my weight has stalled and flucates 2-3lbs depending on the day. I started this journey at 236 and am now 211-213 depending on the day. I am wondering if i possibly set myself up for failure setting my cals so low from the beggining because now i have no room left to decrease cals. What would you suggest i do?

Ok. I was 523 lbs. I’ve lost 60. I eat 1600 cal or less a day. I work out 3 to 4 times a week. Both cardio and resistance training. Not only that, my job can be pretty demanding as well. For about a week now, I’ve been stuck around the 60 lbs. What adjustments do I need to make?

Hii, so im 51..Im a massage therapist, so my work is very physical..All my life i was skinny, 168cm, 50kg max. I couldn't build muscle. Was skinny fat. At 49 with menopause, had lots of inflammation and aches. Started tibolone. Dropped AS medication ( sulfasalazine) started gym. Im now 61kg. Still 24% fat. This week i pushed from my max of 4 hours apointment per day. To 5h for 2 dsts, 6 hours the next. I had no time to eat mure than a protein barre while driving, drinking a redbull. So had good breakfast and heavy diner.. I have put on 2kg!! I though so much burning without enough food will make me lose.. Opposite! I would like to lose a bit of under skin fat. How to do? If i calculate my calories with a app. I can never cover my day. Im always on deficits

What if we're not losijg and close to or under "BMR"
@JerryTeixeira
@JerryTeixeira 11 месяцев назад
So your BMR is an estimate, and it can be off by as much as 20%. So while the predicted BMR may be accurate on average, it may not be accurate for you

I'm 5'1 and weigh 54 kgs. I workout 3 to 4 times a week (I currently follow Caroline Girvan workouts on RU-vid because they're intense for me). My TDEE is 1900 so I consume around 1200 to 1400 calories for weight loss per day. However, I'm not losing weight. I have to add that I don't get proper sleep and I take sleeping pills every now and then to help me sleep. I'm trying to increase my water intake and cut my sodium and carb intake. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could lose weight? I track my calories using MyFitnessPal everyday. I do weight lifting around 3 times a week and HIIT 2 times. I started lifting only few months ago after a long break.

If I have not lost weight on my weekly weigh in day then I water fast until I get to the weight I feel I was suppose to be at. I do not accept not losing or gaining. Just don’t eat, the weight has to go then

Reason 1: you are not in a calorie deficit.
@JerryTeixeira
@JerryTeixeira Год назад
I talk about that at #3, (not in order of importance) but thats not always the case. You aren't going to gain fat mass in a deficit, but people can and do displace the weight in fat or lean tissue lost with fluid at times, which will make the scale plateau and or go up slightly, even in a deficit. It should be transitory, and is partly whey weight loss wont appear linear. It's the same with addition of muscle mass sin new trainees after several week of dieting if they are also lifting and are new to it. The phenomenon are transitory, and the plateau passes if the plan is good and you stay the course, but too often people don't, and they get frustrated and make changes when thats the opposite of what they should do.
