Top 3 Slingshots for Beginners! 

Finally someone who has COOL music instead of the same old retread theme songs so many others use. This is the second sling shot video I've ever seen, first by accident and now I want to get into sling shotting. It looks like fun and the sling shot community seem like a friendly bunch. EDIT : Sud'd and bought the Scout LT !

A lot of reviewers sleep on it but I love love love my Hammer XT and would, without batting an eyelash, recommend it to anyone wanting to start shooting slingshots. It feels fantastic in the hand and is a very stable platform (even without the brace). Not pocketable at all but accurately gets my steel to its destination. Also, its made in the good ol' USA 🇺🇸 Great choices brother!

I'm just getting myself into slingshooting, and I just bought a Ka-Bar Sweet Move slingshot. I'll be using the OTT method for it.

I have all those models. Just took shipment of the hammer master collection. All very respectable choices. The majority of my slingshots are from Simple Shot.

No doubt the scout lt is my favorite production frame on the market and I doubt anyone will ever do better. Except maybe Nathan himself. I can't wait until he does the axiom and champ with clips.

Hey bro - as always, your advice is spot on. Great explanation of the 3 grips. Obviously, the Hammer is hammer grip only. You also explained that the Scout LT is pinch or thumb support, and hammer grip (but not recommended). You did not discuss how the Axiom is gripped. Also, you did not mention the LT grip weight and that without the scales you can wrap paracord around the grip. Also, (part 2) what do you think of the Scout XT as a beginner option? It is the only production slingshot that I am aware of that can be gripped all 3 ways and also banded OTT and TFF. Also (part 3) what do you think about modern tubes (like Simple-Shot sells) for beginners as they last longer than flats? Also (part 4) are you going to review the Axiom X? Thanks for everything that you do for the slingshot community. And sorry about all the "also's" but as you know, once you start talking about slingshots it is hard to stop. Keep posting, bro!

I have only been shooting slingshots since September but the Scout LT and the Axiom Ocularus are my favorites. The Hammer is nice but it is not as stable in my hand. I have three LTs and would like to get the Pro version of the Axiom when it is in stock again. Simple Shot is a great company to send newbies to, great service and wonderful educational videos.

I've got the hammer set up as the slingbow and that's fun. The scout lt in back with the weight and olive green scales and using the supplied bands in ott to shoot 10mm lead. The axiom ocularis in green with a nice khaki paracord wrapped handle shooting 0.66 gzk green, ttf for 8mm steel with the purple pit locator pouche is still the best for accuracy in my humble hands. Love the video and the fact you reply to all your comments. Keep well brother👍👊

Good informative video. Lot of useful info for beginners. Just out of curiosity, are there any slingshot you would recommend other than Simple Shot?

When a kid my dad got me one like the metal Y frames you have. I got a Saturday job when older. Friends had the Black Widow. So I got the one a bit more expensive the Scalemead Jungle Hunter. I always dreamed of owning a Diablo , the one with the weights. I’m starting to realise that you guy’s that are serious about it. Use ones more like my original. Do you think I would get more accuracy and practicality out of the basic Y frame. Is it just marketing to get us to part with more cash the fancy ones. I’m 48 and disabled from a motorbike crash. Looked at getting back into air rifles but I don’t think the clubs will let me join due to my epilepsy. So think slingshots are the way forward. Used to be a good shot, so thinking if I could get my eye back in. They will do the job of an air rifle when it comes to filling the pot with Rabbit or target practice. I’m in northern England and since trump messed with trade tariffs. I paid 3 times more than the hat , in customs charges. When I ordered from the States, so haven’t bought anything from the States since. So as much as I would like to buy one of yours I don’t think the charges justify it. I use 3 slingshots on a regular basis. Scout, Ocularus and a Torque. (Gotta have a couple of loaners for friends.) Zero "need" for anything else. It'd just be straight up collecting at that point.

I have a question I've not found yet. Does a different color frame have any impact or bearing on lining up the target/aiming? Like red would not be good for shooting a red target. What about other options.

can I use the scout LT with 0.7mm thickness band, 18-22 taper, for 11mm steel balls?

Grew up in the late 60s early 70s with a wrist rocket. Now in my 60s and need to slap some squirrels out of my fruit trees, before I grab my air rifle. (Gettin soft in my old age). Have a scout xt ordered. Thank U fine video and new subscriber.

Do you find that your anchor point is different for the scout XT versus scout LT

why the scout LT over the X with the fiber optic sight? Is there any special preference for the LT over the x or xt?

For the the material and price ratio, it's not for beginners at all! maybe buy those chinese or vietnamese slingshots, to feel if you can squeeze the activity to your daily schedule, then buy the extra money saved for some catch box and eye wear protection. Down the road you will eventually need to buy your own tools to make your own slingshot, cause you'll just keep getting curious if there's a better slingshot for you.

I REALLY want this info but the music's far too loud. I know that it's made worse by my needing to wear earbuds ATM, but that's the reality for many. I see that you've gotten very good reviews, but I'll have to go elsewhere. Keep up the liked content, tho.
