I went on a trip to Europe with a symphonic band where we went to Denmark and Germany. The best part about the trip was that we didn't just go to the touristy landmarks and cities, but we actually stayed in relatively small towns and got to stay with host families to really get a feel for what life was like there. I don't think I will ever be able to outdo that trip.
I really love traveling to Europe. I've been to several countries over there but my favorites are definitely Spain and Portugal. I went to Madrid this past summer and it was amazing! I've also been to Paris, which is obviously fantastic.
The summer before my last year of high school, I was lucky enough to do a month study abroad to London with my theater teacher and two classmates. We got to do acting classes at the Globe and saw a couple West End productions. I'd love to get to spend more time in Europe in the future. My #1 travel goal is to eventually visit every Disney park in the world, including Shanghai's park once it opens.
I like to travel across to Leeds to visit my boyfriend while he's away at uni. He always knows how to put a smile on my face, even if he is living on the wrong side of the Pennines.
Like you, I love London. I don't think anything will beat my first time there, but LeakyLondon this summer was pretty special. New York was one of the best experiences I ever had, my mother organised the most perfect trip and I will be forever grateful to have had that experience with her. And Chicago for Leaky '12. Best weekend I could have hoped for, and I even got to meet you which was great! Travelling really is the best thing a person can do, which is why I'm ditching Ireland this summer after I graduate and heading over to America for a few months!
about two years ago to the day I moved away from my 'safe little bubble' there have been a few moments to being so far away from family but I don't regret the decision! if I could take a trip to anywhere it would be Ireland!! if nothing else just to hear the Irish accent! haha and it looks like an amazing country!!
I spent about 2 and a half weeks in Cambodia this summer and about a week in Vietnam. I can confirm that you should definitely go to SE Asia. Sa Pa, Vietnam is the prettiest place I've ever been. But if you do go to SE Asia, be prepared for a lot of abject poverty, especially if you're in Cambodia. It's not as visible in Vietnam, but its definitely there.
Sweden was pretty spectacular, I love the nature in the south and the feel of Stockholm - such a great city. My one day roadtrip to Prague was way to short but unforgettable. And then there's the summer I spent in Cardiff with my sister when our dad worked abroad. I remember a lot of shopping trips to Tesco and being blown away by the size of it and learning English with my stepmom and getting mint ice cream from the ice cream truck. Have fun in England :)
My favourite trips: I spent a whirlwind 2 weeks in Germany when I was in high school which was my first real travel experience where I learned that I'm good at navigating unknown places, which makes exploring new cities a lot of fun, and I'm never the type to stress out over travel. The 2nd was the first time I went on my own to NYC without my parents, to stay with my brother who lives there. It was the first time I got to "settle in", as you said, and really experience the city as more than a tourist. I also travelled across Canada and back once over an 9 month period, which was pretty awesome. Great to see what this big beautiful country is made of.
I haven't been traveling many places so my top three would be 1) Florida, both for spending time with my grandparents in Disney when I was younger and for Infinitus as my first HP convention. 2) Seattle, it was just me an my dad and we got to go cool places. 3) California, I guess because I have family there and it was warm.
I love travelling, and I've been fortunate enough to do quite a bit of it. My longest and most interesting trip was the 11 week internship/summer learning I did in England two summers ago. That was just an amazing experience, and I learned so much because I wasn't just a tourist, I was really involved. My favorite place, however, was (and is) Ireland. I visited there once when I graduated from college in 2007, and went back again for weekend trips when I was in England two summers ago. Between the gorgeous scenery, the friendly (and sarcastic) people and the overall amazing atmosphere, it's the only place I've ever visited where I seriously contemplated figuring out a way to stay.
The most amazing trip I've been on was to Giza to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. It completely blew my mind to be standing in the same place as these ancient, iconic things I had only seen in movies. I also sat on a camel, which was terrifying.
I'm from Canada and I haven't gotten to travel to many places (mostly just to the US), but I'm really excited to graduate from uni in 2015 because I'll be going for 2-3 weeks to England, Scotland and Ireland :D
My favorite place to travel has been Argentina (have also been to Quebec, Uruguay, and Nicaragua). I got to spend a little over 3 weeks there in May 2007 for my school's May term and it was pretty fantastic. I stayed with a family while I was there except for the last couple days that we spent in Buenos Aires, and I learned more about Argentine culture and history as well as furthered my Spanish by taking classes for both in Spanish at a local study abroad school they have there. It was just incredible learning our way around the town that we were staying in and to just be completely immersed in the culture. I would absolutely love to go back some day. (Plus: Empanadas are delicious)
If I could use a transporter like Star Trek I would go more places. lol I fell in love with Toronto when I was there for Buffer. Up until that trip my only memory of Toronto was from when I was 8 and we were visiting friends and while out riding bikes I ended up doing a face plant. Not a fond memory. I do have fond memories of other places I've lived, like Prince Edward Island and Mooseonee Ontario. :)
Have feet must travel. Scotland is my favorite place in the world. I want to see more of it. An extremely close second is Malawi. It truly is the 'warm heart of Africa'. It's on of the poorest nations in the world but has one of the brightest spirits. :)
I've been to about 30 states and internationally I've been to Canada, Mexico, Panama, England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Austria (I live in the US). My bucket list consists of visiting all 50 states but I also want to add a bunch more countries too.
I've been to every province in Canada my family has moved across the country a couple times. I've also been to New York, Burlington (VT), Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota (The mall of America). Out of the Americas, I've been to Cyprus and Ireland twice. I'm really happy that I've got to travel so much but I'm always game for more. I really want to go to London because I've seen, heard and read so much about it. I also want to go to Germany because 16 hours in the Frankfurt airport doesn't count. :D
I hate to travel. I like to BE places, just not to travel. Anyway, going to Orlando and seeing the Harry Potter area was my favorite trip. We rode the ride in the castle 5 or 6 times. If you go as a single rider, you ride and get off the ride and run back up the steps and get back on super quick. The 1st time we went we waited in line for 3 hours so we could ride together. I'd like to go to Disneyland again someday too.
You should come to Australia again, although probably not right now, since the heat is getting crazy again. My favorite places to travel have been Italy (because I saw all my family and so much art and history) Also I really want to go to Ireland, just would love to go there :)
Love this video! I might have to do a response to it. If I can narrow my list of favorite trips down to three. :) Very jealous that you've been to Australia! I would really like to go there. I have a trash can with koalas on it that I inherited that my grandparents got when they were in Australia. And London is one of my very favorite cities too!
I also would love to travel to Southeast Asia. There's a whole story behind that for another time. It involves royalty and a job offer. Sort of. It's a long story.
Great video!! I want to travel everywhere x3 My biggest dream is to become a travel journalist, and I really want to experience as many different places as possible. So far, I really like Portugal and Cyprus- and my dream place to visit would be New Zealand!!
I think my favorite trip ever eas to Disney World when I was a kid. Who doesn't like the happiest place on earth? I've gone back in high school and I want to go again woth my godson. I also really want to go to South Korea, because my best friend is there.
