Showing Men on Tv i grew up watching on how to treat a lady...bringing awareness that the act of Chivalry is Dead and the Era of Thirsty is now what being a gentleman in some cases is called..There is a Difference!
@@thesilvershining I'd love to have a Steve Urkel type of guy any day. Someone that looks after people, is loyal, honest etc. I just wished we got a Steve and Laura wedding but I'd like to think they did marry.
I've always wanted a man who loved me the way Steve loved Laura. I cry watching them more than the others. Then Martin loved Gina and was never afraid to say I screwed up to make things right. Dwayne wasn't afraid to go after who he knew was his in his heart. Even in front of a crowd of people no matter who opposed his actions. I absolutely love the Steve's Chivalry, Dwayne's Boldness, and Martin's Humility. That's real love. Don't be afraid to wait on it Ladies. ❤️
I would love to have a guy that loves me like Steve loves Laura, he was devoted to her and even when they were friends, he was the first person she would ask for help or get advice from, and he always treated her nice compared to the guys she dated prior to him. Once they officially began to date, you could tell they were going stay together. Their past relationships made them appreciate the other person and know what they really needed from each other - unconditional love and commitment.
@@JanetMarieRose73 I feel the same way. Everyone should have someone who loves someone the way he loves Laura. I have been waiting a long time and I am 40 now and I am afraid it will never happen.
Imani Gordon Martin's 1st proposal is the one she always gonna remember . You sceamed and plotted you won cla clank, with the handcuffs. That was more memorable. How Gina gonna forget that one. She probably still remembers it when she was married to wyans.
When Dwayne said “BABY PLEEEAASE, PLEEAASSEE!” I said “I do” and he wasn’t even talking to me. Definitely one of my favorite A Different World Scenes. Also, Martin’s proposal to Gina is my favorite. I still get the feels when I️ watch it.
In a recent reunion, Kadeem Hardison said that wasn’t even in the script. He was supposed to say all the vows but he flubbed the line and that’s why he cuts off and screams “Baby please”. You can’t buy chemistry like that.
Definitely emotional. The actor forgot his lines because of how emotional the audience was and how into the scene they were so he made it up on the spot and you could feel the raw emotion and desperation in Dwayne’s voice
Because it should have been. They genuinely had feelings for each other IRL, but she chose Duane. After that, Martin went into a spiral that caused the show to eventually be canceled.
I want that Dwayne and Whitley love. They had the best love and they still are my favorite tv couple of all time. A Different World is my all time favorite show❤️💍
Do you know how much confidence and sauce you have to have to walk into your ex girl’s wedding, steal her back at the altar and marry her on the spot in front her groom? 👏🏾
@@realbeautyness25 I feel sorry for what happened to your ancestors. It was a crime against humanity. But I also feel sorry for your expectation of blood and justice against ppl that have been dead for over a generation. There is only one way to move forward and that is together, equally. My ppl were here for thousands of years and we had land taken from us and worse. They cut out a tiny scrap of land afterwards and said “here this is your justice”… it is what it is. We can learn to live together as equals or we can keep making the same mistakes until this world is gone forever.
They should have added Martin's first proposal. "Gina, you scammed and you scammed and got what you wanted. Will you marry me? Damn! Are you happy now?!" 😂😂😂
After that first jacked up proposal,Martin knew he had to come correct.😂 And do it up.😂 He pulled all the stops. And the adoring look he had on his face as he looked at Gina just sealed the deal! Go Martin!😍😍😍😍
That Martin Proposal didn’t look like it was acting.... that seemed like real feeling between two people! Gina even has to stop looking at him for a second.... This was great TV!
Jasmine Robinson they were. They had a sexual relationship and Martin wanted more than that and Tisha didn't do her husband made her file sexual harassment on him so he would back off that's why the show was cancelled.
I grew up watching these shows too, man. Black love, I mean true black love that is represented on all three of these shows plus the ultimate Cliff and Clair Huxtable is so scarce on television and especially real life. These proposals all brought tears to my eyes when I first saw them and it does again. Thank you
@@mclohan Ok, you clearly don't get it lol. Black Love is a term describing our SPECIFIC type of dynamic and romantic feelings with our race. It's not a put down of any other love of different races at all so miss me with that mess. Bye, Felicia!
Both of your comments used the most outdated word in the history of our world. -Race- we are one people. Racism and all the bs that comes along with it will never go away if we can’t see that.
The Steve and Laura from Family Matters was the best one. His proposal was straight from the heart and so was Laura's response. He thought he would never win her over, and she certainly showed him over the years how much she loved him even if it was subtle hints at first then more out there later. They grew up and matured a great deal going from friends to a couple. I just wished we got the wedding episode like some of my other favorite tv couples got like Overton & Synclaire on Living Single, and David & Donna on Beverly Hills 90210. I'd love to think Steve got Johnny Gill to sing at the reception for Laura his new bride as a gift to her too.
So agree.. Laura love for Steve was displayed in very subtle ways that goes over a lot of people’s heads. But this was my favorite because you know they both absolutely mean what they are saying it’s not just words.
Different world was my fave..baby please with Martin a close second. When Martn was looking at her as Brian Mcknight sang one of my fave songs..everyyyything
This was not thirsty and I hate how so many women can make those of us who want true gentleman look bad. I'm grateful to have someone who opens doors, holds my hand and acts like a gentleman every single day.
Steve showed how a black man shows love to Black woman. He was persistent .....Laura, should have recognized him long time ago....Please bring back shows like this.
I loved each one equally because each one was right for their story and those characters. All 3 were emotional and fit perfectly but it's a reflection of real life and each story is different, has its ups and downs, some took longer than others, but when love is real itll always prevail and never leave. Lol says the one who has given up on marriage, how ironic!
My favorite was Steve and Laura. They grew up together, and if you re-watch the series on Hulu starting with the season 1 "Laura's First Date" and go from there, you can see the progression, the growing up/maturing they both had to do, and going from where she didn't even like him to admitting she loves him & can't live without him & wants to marry him as an young adult woman.
My wife cried when she saw all of these because her favorite show is "Family Matters" which was the 1st one featured in the video. Dwayne from "A Different World" came back to the state where Whitley was from, and almost made the mistake in marrying her preference, instead of her promise/destiny. Dwayne came to that wedding & fought for her, and asked her to marrying by naming & claiming what is his. And Martin, finally Grew Up & realized that getting married to the woman of his dreams is no laughing matter, or 1 big fat ol' jokes. Homeboy got serious, & did his proposal just right. I love Martin's grown man proposal, but the Wedding featuring Babyface was way more dope, than the proposal was because Martin's dream of completion came to pass the day he married Gina. I know these are all television characters from famous African-American comedic sit-coms, but my point for folks who have dreams of falling love, & finding that special some1 in real life, my message is DON'T GIVE UP. Keep praying, & asking God to show you the person who he predestines for you to be in covenant with in order to do his will, & advance his kingdom. I'm a living witness that God answers prayers, because I never would have found my Stephanie if I didn't trust God to lead me to her. My wife constantly reminds me all the time that "A man that finds a WIFE, finds a true treasure (which is sho-nuff, a good thang). Ladies, let that man find you, & fellas, listen to God & hasten to his thrown so that he can lead you to greatness & a better destiny than what you plan for yourself. By leaning more into God & his understanding, through major obedience, God will take you places you've never would have dreamed of or imagined yourself going even if you tried doing your own thang/ life without God's help. Trust God, he won't tell ya or lead you wrong!
I was OBSESSED with Brian McKnight when this episode aired (still kinda am today TBH), so when he walked out and started singing, I started sobbing like I was Gina! Martin did the damn thang!!!
My favorite was Steve and Laura!!! I have always been a sucker for a nerd! Also for a chase! I got both with Big Daddy and we just celebrated 19 years!!!!
I think that a wedding proposal is the best thing you can ever have and for me I always wanted a woman that to propose to me but it's the other way around but I love Steve Urkel's proposal to his girlfriend and Martin's proposal was absolutely from the heart and that is what real love truly is
They were all special in there own way. But Dwayne/Whitley is the definition of ICONIC! Come on! She is marrying another man, and he steps up to let her know not only he wants her back, but he wants to marry her and says the damn vows! It aired when I was 7, and now 33 yrs old and it's still the best. Martin/Gina was romantic, but it just didn't touch me the same way. Especially knowing how messed up the show got the last season. Tisha refused to be in the same room as Martin, and sued him for millions of dollars for sexual harrasment. That's why Fox decided to cancel it because she wouldn't return.
What about Jamie and Foxy, and also Ms Parker and Professor Olgavee, Olegavy, ahhh you know Dorien Wilson. Those were classic too as well as Synclair and Overturn
The 90s we so great because for me it was like the culmination of all of the decades in that century. The 90s hit a pinnacle in Entertainment that has not been duplicated thus far . My tribute to the 90s as an 80s baby . Love Talent and Soul it never really dies anyway .
I get teary eyed when I watch both proposal of Whitley and Dwayne Wayne and Gina and Martin... I love both them I cry everytime... I could watch it over and over again ...i don't care how old it is
All three movies were loving Steve proposal to laura was heartfelt Dwayne proposal to Whitley was bold and martin proposal to Gina was so real love them all
