I have been running with Prime as a lease operator for 11 months and my average take home after ALL expenses is $2,996.74 a week. That doesn't even include any bonuses. Best damn decisiom I ever made.
Dude you have been 100x more informative than any recruiter I talked to at prime. I wish I had seen this video before going with the lease I’m in. It’s not terrible, but I’m kinda locked into this account and low pay. If I ever switch I think I’ll come to prime given their network and flexibility
Thanks my brother you're absolutely correct with everything that you're saying you're definitely shooting everybody straight. I work for prime for 4 years as a trainer I completed my lease in 2011. At the time I chose to get off the road because I had three sons at home that I hadn't seen much of so I kind of took a Hyannis. But unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and I let my driver license expire so when I went to renew him they took my CDL all of my license but now I am on my way back to prime and I will have to go to their training as the same thing that I used to do isn't that ironic just thought I'd give you a shout out for shooting everybody straight tell him I like it is brother thank you
I'm looking for any reason to NOT go lease op, you, as well as some others on RU-vid making it hard any. I'm excited to get to Pittston, and start this next chapter of life. Hope to meet sometime, God bless.
@@thomaskirkpatrick4031 🤣🤣🤣 don’t disappoint the fools they will get upset with you! I have met some REALLY gullible people out here but by far PRIME & of course, the original Orange KoolAid goes to Schneider! You cannot talk sense into these people, not a lick of Buisness or common sense!
This is a very very useful video here for myself. Now that I got all majority main info , I search no more , and I will put your name out once I'm steady ready for trucking. Appreciate it bradda. Mahalo Nui 🤙🏽. This really helps a lot then you think. 🙏🏼
The concern is will the driver get enough miles per week. To be able to pay the weekly truck payment and still be able to pay their own bills. And is there a guarantee of enough weekly miles so the driver can make the truck payments.
I put 7k down on a 15 DD15 with a full outframe rebuild done by dealer 50k total. Paid 2500 to delete it. 2 years later only minor maintenance. Home every day power only. Easy 6-7000 net after fuel and everything. Which brings me to the point I try to make when people want to lease purchase. You think you're paying 175k for a truck but ultimately you're paying about double that because the rates they give you. Lease purchase is a gimmick designed to benefit the carrier. Not you.
Great video I should be starting with prime doing flatbed next Monday our wensday had so much questions about lease you answered them I have to go with a trainer for 50,000miles would be amazing if you can train me
That’s Awesome!!! I would love to train everyone! It’s very hard trying to pin point a training request rendezvous with perfect timing in order to make everything sync. Good luck brother, and please reach out if you need anything! I look forward to hearing about your experience!!!
Making me drive with a driver for 50,000 miles would be a no-go I don't need to be stuck in a truck with another man for that long.. I've got about three different companies that will just send me out there on my own I know it's doesn't seem to be the best because you don't get as much training but I learn better on my own
Why does prime use regular frames on their flatbed trucks? I drove for Melton and System Transport, and had stretched frames at both companies... Usually the regular wheel base is for van and reefer
Do a year. Most companies require a year of recent experience or fresh out of the school for the license. Put a year on your first job, then you have job security in case bs happens
I appreciate that Scott! Prime has some amazing trainers here! I’m sure you will get hooked up with a great one!!! Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help ya!👊🏽
Prime lease sounds like a good choice for persons who wants to test the waters before becoming owner operator. Do all standard lease trucks comes with warranty? How do they handle mechanical breakdown.
This video is awesome! The detailed assessment was on point! I’m jumping fresh into the trucking and you just gave me that extra boost to go ahead and go owner op with Prime.
Don't know how I've missed this video I'm already with prime and minus some small changes do to the current health situation including I believe less miles and increased pay for training this is a bullseye
I think it’s awesome with the tonka truck on yur flatbed and really like yur down to earth thinking and channel content I have a 92 fld 112 I bought just to haul and old farmal h tractor to the fair and just like trucks and driving mine keep up the good content
I have to say this was very informative. And interesting. I have had my class A cal fro 25 years i have my haz mat and tanker endorsement. I just took a refresher course and work for a local co. But your videos are getting me to at least look into the prime deal.
Thank you for the information on this I am in the process of getting hired with prime I have looked at several companies to start off with (Getting my CDL throught Prime) this looks like the way that I am gonig to go this is something that I need to be able to provide for the family this is a very good choice
John there are amazing opportunities here at Prime! I suggest anyone wanting to get into the industry, start here first. The versatility of the company is uncanny and there are tons of paths to take! Please feel free to reach out to me personally if you have any questions or concerns! My contact info is in the description below 👇 Thanks for watching!!!
So if a drive finish his training right. Or you done orientation right. To get order a truck custom made truck day got to lease a truck in the yard and keep it for 3 months if you decide you what a custom made truck?
You have to actually be in a current lease(regular lease) for at least 3 months before you can actually order a new custom truck(Ace lease or Regular Lease). Prime does have new regular lease trucks available from time to time, but they can’t guarantee you that your first lease will be a new one. That’s why I advise anyone to finish a full regular lease first, bc by the time you’re done, you’ve accumulated a lot of the extra benefits of ordering a truck(lower down payment, custom orders on payments etc)
When I was trucking I went flatbed with TMC. Loved it there. At one point before I had to stop trucking my thought was to go with Prime. I had 3 years with TMC so that was going to be my next move.
I had 10 yrs at TMC o/o. left 13yrs ago to I.N. state employee will retire in 2yrs. TMC is a great company but I think Prime has the complete package second to none. If I go back into trucking it will be with Prime. I am retired from the U.S.N. I might retire for real in 2yrs however I am feeling the trucking fever again. Good luck to yea John.
Great info video 👍🏼 the only thing I don’t like is that you can’t start with a new truck from the beginning of your first leasing you have to pick used trucks that are available at the time of leasing and you have to wait 90 days to be able to order a new truck, when I was checking the inventory I found that until mid 2022 there’s no truck available because that’s when those used trucks will be available at the end of the lease and most of them over 400 thousand miles, I don’t know if there’s another way but that’s a negative point for me, anyway there’s a big shortage of new trucks even SFI doesn’t have trucks right now and they have a long waiting list of driver waiting.
Not totally true, if Prime and Success have new and used trucks available and you aren’t willing to take an existing lease truck, you can definitely get a new truck from day one! Thanks for Watching!
@@fr8sk8r well that was what I was told by prime due to huge shortage of new trucks, all small and big trucks companies as a right now are waiting for new inventory and getting a minimum quantity because everybody is in the same situation around the country and that is reality my friend.
@@fermacias1 I understand about the “now” situation. I’m saying Prime doesn’t have a rule in place in general about new upgrades/drivers having to lease existing older lease trucks instead of new.
Never sitting longer than a couple of hours?! I’ve never sat longer than 20 mins towards my 90 prior to dropping the load I’m currently on lol. Prime keeps you rollin!
P Datrucka That’s awesome! If you never sit longer than 20 mins, don’t mess that up💪 I totally agree, Prime keeps us moving! My wait times always depend on the areas I’m in, time of drop, and what my business needs specifically. There are tons of variables to consider when being a lease/owner op.
Fr8sK8R Trucking thanks you have an email and im at campus inn now and a lady just told me about a dedicated flatbed region close to my home so i was trying to get info on difficulty , hometime and things like that
GOK4 Awesome!!! Hopefully it will all workout! Prime usually has the means to fit everyone’s situation!!! My email is fr8sk8rtruckin@gmail.com Thank you for your time and support!!!
don't forget to calculate the full cost of your truck. Add up all your payments and add in the balloon payment at the end. THEN!!! look at the cost Freightliner is charging for the same truck. If it's not the same.... ask why.....
The balloon payment as mentioned in the video for ace lease is $100. Also I believe the total costs of these trucks including the down payment LD and loaded with extras was mentioned as well. Thanks for Watching
My question is lease can refuse loads but why not allow lease drivers pick & choose their loads off the loads prime has? If a lease driver wants to deadhead 200 miles for a load vs 50 that’s dispatched why not let that driver pick & choose their loads?
so it looks like your net was .65 / mi average? I think i did the math right, it's late. I'm going to a school to get my cdl in the next couple of weeks and have been watching a lot of videos about my options as a new driver. I didn't know how much support was offered through prime inc watching other videos. It's a lot more than I thought. Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
I can’t remember what numbers I actually posted in the video, but I can tell you this as of last week my entire lease to date numbers on my 21’ Cascadia are👇 -58 weeks lease to date -262,738 total actual miles -Total revenue lease to date $420,328.67 -Total take home revenue to me lease to date $195,894.05 =$.745 cpm take home for all actual miles driven(not dispatched miles) I hope this gives you an idea. Now I have trained the entire lease except 2-3weeks so far and I’ve taken roughly 8 weeks off out of that time(I run hard🤑) and everyones methods of managing their business differs, but hopefully this will give you an idea of what you can actually accomplish here. Thanks for watching!👊
@ 7:25 ...Since when is deadheading awesome? On percentage pay? ACCEPTABLE, maybe... but AWESOME? I don't think so. I do get the point you were trying to make though, and thank you.
This video got me persuaded to Join Prime 🔥 sick and tired of getting paid $700-$1000 a week as a company driver And the only company that i made decent money 1.had me doing circles in the midwest 2.owner lost his humble side since he moved to Houston and tries to act like a Ritchie Rich 😂 I already used your driver code in my referral with Heather hope to see you soon brother and get to meet you in person and have a coke or something man
i have a question. if i have cash 💰 to buy the Truck out Right would they let me pay cash so i don’t have a Truck payment all i would have to pay is my fix cost
Im new to all this and thinking about making a career change and get into trucking with prime the more i watch videos the more im really leaning towards taking that leap and doing it
You should! It doesn’t have to be with Prime. Just please do your research and get the info you will need to make the right first step for you! I everyone’s situation, needs and wants are unique. Find the company that will work best for you. I will tell you this, I wish I would’ve gotten my CDL through Prime instead of a Tech school in GA. Primes training program is next to none
So just rent a commercial semi from Ryder. With sleeper for 2k a month and they pay maintenance. Or just buy your truck, getting your own financing. Anything else is foolish. You're just renting a job.
Newbie question, so please be easy on me. Planning on going to Prime in late January for CDL training. I know I have to sign up for a year in order to not have to pay for CDL training. I'm interested in leasing from Prime. How long after receiving CDL can I lease a new truck? Also, since there is no load board, how can you be assured constant loads worth all the expenses of leasing? What is the average pay for a Prime lessee driving OTR?
Jesse that’s a great question! You can lease immediately after your training is completed. I wish I could give you concrete numbers, but I do have some videos outlining general numbers if you like to watch them(ex: ARE YOU READY Video) I can assure you Prime knows what it costs to keep our businesses running and thriving, if you’re giving your 110% expect the same from Prime! Everyone’s experience can differ, but Prime wants everyone to succeed!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video Robert! Congratulations on consideration of Primes program! They have a ton of great options here and many choices on how you can work at accomplishing your goals as an operator!
I needed to hear all 30 explanations truly well worth watching and expressing the way prime works keep up the good work champ it means alot can’t wait to join prime soon 🙏🏻💯🤞🏼🏁
Ive been driving for 32 yrs, I would owner op with prime immediately but I cannot drive 64 mph all day everyday. I just can't do it.70 maybe, I've slowed down ALOT,, but dang not 64 mph worth. Me and my wife would come probably my son too
I really wanted to go flatbed but my gf is going to come.ride with me after i complete tnt in November and potentially drive as well and we know she wouldnt pass the flatbed agility class to be cleared so i just went refer.
@@fr8sk8r thanks man. I do plan to go lease and take the shortest cascadia lease i can find because i do plan to purchase a truck on my own within 2 to 3 years. Either through prime or pedigree. Just dont wanna be that guy who leases for 5 or more cause im wanting to buy a house within 5 so i can run locally after that point
Erick Farris well I will tell ya, I’m in my second regular lease(my 4th year) and just built a 4b/3bath on 3 acres bro(the reason I haven’t uploaded another video yet🤑). The bank doesn’t care if you lease or own. They care if your business if profitable. It took us 3 years of solid profitability tax returns in order to be able to close on our home. You can do it man, no matter what you decide, Primes got your back💪🏽
@@fr8sk8r i just wanna buy something. Maybe build later. Im 27 so trying to get a successful start before im too old to enjoy it lol. But i think 2 to 3 years is do able for purchasing a truck. Ill go back and see how long i need to lease for b4 i can ace lease
Great video. Lots of very valuable info. Keep putting out great content. Good to see you can make good money with the flatbed division there. Stay safe out on the road.
With all these payments, maintenance, etc., plus out sourcing major medical, how do you make money? How much can you make a week, to cover all this, plus make money?
William Yarbrough I promise you, there’s plenty of money to be made here at Prime. I’m in my 4th year, second lease and my wife and I just bought our first house. We’re very blessed and Prime keeps that revenue rolling!
@@fr8sk8r My brother drives for Prime in Alabama. But he is a company driver. He didn't know alot about the lease side. Thanks for the info. I've been driving for 22 yrs. and a veteran. Been driving as a company driver the whole time. It was physically unloading freight (McLane). Getting older and looking for less physical work. That's why I've been doing my research on Lease Purchase. Thanks again.
Why would you lease a truck and have someone dictate and plan your loads? It’s 2021 they should have a load board for drivers to pick from and have the option to view rate cons otherwise how do you know if you’re truly getting 72% it’s not like prime hasn’t been sued for shady business practices already 🤷🏾
A few things I hated about leasing with prime i could never deliver early too much time for loads therefore i always ran recaps because i had so much time on my hands 300 miles a day without even worrying about having time for a full set of hours when picking up a new load trucks are sensitive company calling talking crap because of the sensors even the refrigerator unit
My last company lease payments for a good used truck with 300k miles was 650 a week for three and a half years no Ballon payment u get the title, the health insurance plane was great they let u use it as a lease driver huge discount instead of going on the open market like prime.
So it looks to me like you'd barely be bringing home $1,500 a week after you pay for your gas.. And then if you have to take your truck payment out of that then you're screwed.. I'm not sure if they take the payment out before you get paid but I'm assuming they must or else you wouldn't be making anything
They claim to have a 100% forgiveness on the lease. That is a straight up lie. I was with them for 6 years. I left to come home and take care of my brother who had suddenly became disabled. According to them, I owe them $4000. They claim that it took 13 hours to clean my truck. If my truck had been that dirty, I wouldn’t have been able to live in it.
That is the same that happened to me. I got hurt and was off for a year giving up my first lease truck. When I came back to work I started day 1 negative $5000. Funny thing is it took prime 13 hours to clean my truck. Lol
Great video. Some good info and ideas. Currently in TNT and going back and forth on which direction to take. Am slated to go company but leaning towards lease.
Thank You so much for your time and interest!! I have no doubt that whichever route you decide to go with Prime you’ll be successful💪 I can say this, just have some long term goals in mind and set them to be achievable, that should help you in your decision👊👍
@@fr8sk8r Haha no problem, I've been leaseing with prime since July 2019 (2020 freightliner) and I'm a trainer since February. I've watched alot of prime videos on RU-vid and usually people put the information but not the editing so it was appreciated lol. Be safe
You mention in this video that Drivers stay at PRIME INC for - 20 - 30 years! > Many of Us have read that trucking companies have a driver turn over rate of between 50 - 110%!! > Yearly!!! >> So tell Me this, > * Exactly how many drivers have worked at PRIME INC > 20 - 30 Years. Thank You for this video and We All can not wait to Read The Answer to My Question...
I will definitely see if I can get some factual numbers for your question. Also keep this in mind, being a training company, Prime will take in a much higher volume of drivers new/experienced than most companies, so the turn over rate won’t give good quality evidence to the value of a company’s driver retention. Thanks for Watching!
Yes both are 100% walk away. The loss comes from Down Payment, costs of extras bought when ordering a truck, and all monies built up for your lease completion bonus.
Hello and good morning to you sir. I just started to watch some of your RU-vid videos, and you give out alot of good information. I just got my cdl license 2 weeks ago, but just dont know what company to go with. I saw how you start with prime doing flatbed, and now you run Reefer. But the one video that caught my eyes is how to lease a truck and get into the Ace lease, which pretty much I'll be financing my own truck after finish paying off the current lease. I have 3 companies I'll love to work with as a company driver and learn alot about the trucking industry and become successful. Prime inc, jb hunt, and werner, but prime being the top of my list. Do you recommend me getting the experience first before becoming a lease owner operator, and jump into the Ace lease program? And if I become a company driver that already have my cdl thru a cdl school, how much would I get paid, with no experience
I definitely recommend getting settled into the industry for at least a year as a company driver before leasing. As far as Primes pay and revenue is concerned, please chk the video description and give my recruiter Dustin Hensley a call, he will get you up to speed on the pay! Thanks for Watching!
Great information. Thanks for putting that all together. Just tipped over 50,000 miles so I'll be upgrading next week. This solidified my decision to go lease. I also appreciate the Bible verse. Very appropriate. Keep up the good work and God bless
I really appreciate your time and consideration King Lewis! Thanks for Watching!! Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll be more than happy to help!💪🏽👊🏽

I was getting unloaded at a customer a few weeks ago and I met a woman who was on the flatbed lease program with Prime. She had a new 579. She was making pretty decent money after all her deductions etc. pretty solid.
