SC 15 are good for small tarpon but not for 3 digits, between Gamakatsu SL 12 and SC 17 I prefer....Owner Aki.

Just found your channel. Love the video quality and your attention to detail on these patterns you're tying! I'm a huge hook nerd and am kind of obsessive about the perfect hook. Great to hear your thoughts. 2 hooks that I've had success with are the Tiemco 600SP (absurdly expensive) and the Varivas 2600 V (kind of a rare hook). Also, I'm excited to try the newish Gamakatsu SL12S 1x Short with the new NS black finish--not sure if you've fished those yet. I'm sure you do more tarpon fishing than I do, but just wanted to compare notes. Keep up the great work!

Nice reliable info straight from the horses mouth ! All great hooks but I have real trouble in getting these hooks in the UK and if you contact US fly shops the postage rates are $26 for a sigle packet of hooks. Why dont your guys use ordinary US Post ? Slow but so much cheaper.
