I was expecting the pronunciation of Lü Bu to be correct. It wasn't😢😢😢 And the sequence of the 4 beauties were incorrect too😭😭😭. We usually say 沉鱼落雁闭月羞花。The sequence corresponds to the age/era which each beauty lives in in ascending order. 西施 Xi Shi - Spring and Autumn Period 王昭君 Wang Zhaojun - Western Han Dynasty 貂蝉 Diao Chan - 3 Kingdoms Era 杨玉环 Yang Yuhuan - Tang Dynasty

except Diao Chan and Lvbu actually fiction characters. China has it's own 4 beauties and Diao Chan was never included.

I was expecting Wu Zetian but okay. My mom and my wife's grandfather were mesmerized of the 4 beauties of China. In Chinese philosophy. All these 4 beauties met a tragic ending. So best not to be a real beauty but average looking.

So this is a little complicated The top 4 most beautiful women of ancient China. There is a list of top 10 The top 4 most handsome men of ancient China. Is also part of the complete list of top 10 There's also a top 4 ugliest both female and male of ancient times. One night my family was having supper on the table, I heard my mother talking about the topic of this video. Which was a decade ago, when I was a teenager. Because it's quite a popular part of Chinese culture. The next day I search it up on RU-vid. Ever since then I was mesmerized by it. Actually it's less about the outer physical appearance. It's more a combination of alot of qualities. Like morality, intelligence, height, body posture, face etc etc. And millennia prior the beauty standards are completely unique to us. There's a chance we might even consider them unattractive
