I've been wondering about that one ever since it got announced and almost bought it multiple times but always end up buying something else. Maybe I'll grab it today and give it a shot, it does seem pretty fun.
we converted the Fate of the Nostromo map to be used with Nemesis. Reduces the huge footprint of the official Nemesis board and pruduces a quicker, more intense game with more Intruders/Aliens appearing than in regular Nemesis as there are fewer corridors to place noise markers on. To balance this out all rooms are revealed at beginning of the game so you know whete to go to schieve your goals.
Fate of the Nostromo really is fun. It felt like I was being hunted by the Alien. It has an amazing sense of theme and atmosphere. You’re right, it is a quick game but a goodie. Legendary Alien Encounters is a game I’d like to try but I haven’t bought because I own too much of Legendary Marvel. Still, it looks great!
Bairnt I've just acquired Legendary Encounters off Ebay in the last week after watching your fantastic live stream playthrough with Colin. Play tested it last night, I lost twice but it was so much fun. Have a friend coming round this weekend to play it with me. Btw I've also recently bought a used copy of Hunted: Mining Colony 415 which is a wonderful solo/2 player Aliens themed card game with a manual dexterity element.
Nemesis is such a good game. Agree that Legendary Aliens is the best deck-builder. Would be interested to see some of the others that could fit into the "genre" that Nemesis opened up. Perhaps a follow-up "top 5 games that are almost Alien game"
I always applaud your rule of not using TTS unless you or someone else in the session owns the physical game. (And I adamantly agree that playing a physical version of a game is more enjoyable than the digital version.)
The only problem with the Legendary Encounters: Alien is that Art. It's a complete mood-kill. Would love to see the art replaced if they ever get around to printing a new edition.
Yes this is my one draw back to the game. Glorious day in the Corp got the rights why couldn’t upper deck. Imagine all those awesome stills from all those awesome movies!!!!! 😃😃👍
@@OneStopCoopShop My most anticipated games to play currently are The Hunters 2114 A.D., which I just received, Oathsworn and Lockdown. Are either of those other two I mentioned on your radar/most anticipated list?
One Alien/s style game I like is Violent Dark by Blacksite Studios, its a miniature game with a small play area of 2'x2' and very cinematic, similar to its sister game Don't Look Back.
If including nemesis, i would agree maybe including lifeform, i consider lifeform the alien equivalent and nemsis as the aliens equivalent. Both i have and are great. Legendary is a fav, have all expansions, so varied with regards to scenarios and good if want a challenging but not long playtime game of an evening
I would totally include lifeforn but I haven’t played it I have been searching for a copy but can’t find one. thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
A top 5 non-"alien" (IP) alien games would be great. By the same token, a Top 5 (non-FFG) lovecraftian-like games would also be great (since Arkham files get a lot of attention some other might pass under the radar)
My god man, get yourself a sheet of plexiglass and slap that over your paper board for that #2 game!! I used to have that game. I don't know what happened to it.
Great list! A little consideration about Nemesis for all solo gamers, the game has a strong presence, however in solo mode it loses its charm after one or two games and the objectives are very limited. The Untold Stories book (not available in the retail box) has a campaign that gives a little more playability, however it is not very well balanced. The game shines in multiplayer, but for solo only I wouldn't recommend it.
@@OneStopCoopShop It's KS exclusive and it is not available anywhere. It's a misleading promise when they put 1 to X players in the box and it doesn't really include the full solo experience. The same has happened with other games like Dinosaur Island for example.
I don’t have a problem with solo, though I would rather play coop 2 handed solo. The campaign was a blast I did a playthrough of it on “Meet me at the table”. I would play it again in a heartbeat it helped make the game change
Never played the #2. I love the aliens genre and recently it's been heaven. I agree with nemesis as the #1. It has other less-alien feeling races to play with but why would anyone do that?
@@OneStopCoopShop that it is:). Maybe I read the title wrong, I was thinking only Alien franchise games. Really nice list. I bought the Aliens this time it’s war after seeing this video 👍🏼
Aliens this time it’s war is soooo good. I tried to stay in the franchise but Nemesis so feels like to theme that I had to throw it in and it’s soooo good. 😃😃👍
Nice list but still for my opinion nemesis is not giving the alien movie feeling... Amazing game but has is own universe although the creature looks like Alien
I totally get that but to me the theme is still there broken down ship, coperations still in charge, sneaky aliens on board, not many resources to use against them. love the theme.
This comment is for 1986/1989 (your # 2) leading edge aliens. why do some of these games have a bar code in the back of the box bottom left hand corner and some have no barcode? Also, the ones with no barcode have manuals with white letters spelling aliens on the front of the manual where as the ones with barcodes on the back of the box have blue lettering on the front of the manuals. Fakes?
