Viggo never allowed Aragon to be loud. He played it within temperament. He is an absolutely strong actor, no theatrics.

Viggo is a bloody good actor

Aragorns speech is something else. It shows the true leader that he is. His soldiers are scared as hell before the mordors army and somehow he manages to get them all hyped up eventho they have no chance of beatin them and he is the one who is running first straight to the army of orcs. So fuckin good god damn. I get goosebumps from that scene.

I want to become like Aragorn. But life made me Gollum. 😂😂

My favorite scene is when he is rescued by the horse and returns to rohan. Very touching, I think Viggo even bought the horse as they formed a great bond

Excellent choices, but I also loved the death scene with Boromir. That was so moving. No fighting or great heroics, just bringing comfort and peace to a flawed hero before his passing.

Great list! However, first top spot for me is: “For Frodo!” ... followed by Aragorn courageously charging at the army of Mordor alone

The world today needs an Aragorn to come out the woodwork and unite humanity lolol.

I would also add the scene where Frodo offers Aragorn the ring, but Aragorn declines in the Fellowship of the Ring

This film series established Viggo Mortensen as one of my favorite actors and Aragorn as my favorite character in the Lord of the Rings

If you haven't already you should check out some of the behind the scenes stuff. Viggo started way late, no rehearsing, and in the first movie you can essentially see him working out where hes going to take his character. One of the greatest actors of all time in my opinion

Aragorn is a damn powerhouse. The madlad comes charging in, single handedly takes on all nine ringwraiths *and* drives them off.

An extra 5 minutes of the ghost army and he could have cleared all of the orcs out of Mordor.

07:40 is my favorite. He actually deflected a real dagger. Viggo just owned every scene he acted in.

This series was really good, but the casting and cinematography made it extraordinary.

Awesome list! I agree with the order this list is in, although I would only add one scene which is the scene where Aragorn bows to the four Hobbits in his coronation and says "My friends... You bow to no one." because that scene truly shows, in my opinion, Aragorn's character. He is my favorite character in both the LOTR movies and in the books because he was born to be a king and a leader but he never sought out that position and kept his humility even when he ascended to the throne. This is shown in that scene because Aragorn recognises that Middle-Earth wasn't saved by the great warriors or kings but instead was saved by four Hobbits who showed great courage, sacrifice and compassion for others. That's why Aragorn is my favorite character in LOTR. Anyways, keep producing awesome content!

7:00 - Aragorn can effortlessly slash through hordes of orcs, but in a duel with an Uruk. It becomes hard won battle that took over a minute and required a tremendous amount of luck and skill to win.

In his fight with Lurtz, Viggo actually defected his daggar with his sword, baring in mind they were still sharp enough to do damage

Okay, hear me out. If there's a spot for an honorary mention, it has to be as follows: Aragorn plays soccer with the Uruk-Hai head and breaks his toe.

That Black Gate speech by Virgo as well as Bernard Hill’s, “Charge of the Rohirrim,” is the kind where if it were a real battle in the Middle Ages, or pre gunpowder era you would follow leader like that into battle no matter what! To the very Gates of Hell themselves and back! One must wonder if the great battlefield commanders like Cyrus, Alexander, Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Constantine, Alaric, Charlemagne, Saladin, and on and on gave inspired speeches or if they even needed to say a word.

My no. 1 favourite character in LORs: regal, courageous, humble, loyal and badass.

few good gems of trivia. Viggo broke his foot kicking the helmet in the two towers. also the urukhai throwing th edagger at him, wasnt supposed to throw it. that was a real dagger not the rpop he was supposed to swap to. Viggo actually smashed it away with his sword like a god.

It didn’t come out until 2027 that Andy Serkis actually played every single character in the entire saga. He did it all in real time, and the struggled to keep up with him. Thankfully, the only had to hire one helicopter at a time due to Andy’s ability to run around on hills in 4-5 different characters entire wardrobe all at once. He saved the studio 50 million on production.

I like this list, but I miss the scene, where he attacks the ships with the undead army. I think it's so fucking epic, when they ask "which army?" and they all appear Anyways, I'd say it might be close behind the shown scenes

Number 3 was probably the coolest and most extreme sword fight in cinema. Fast, dangerous, 50/50 and extreme!

I feel like they missed so many opportunities to make Gimli something other than comic relief. When that torrent of skulls is crashing down, it shouldn't have been Legolas hauling his ass along. Gimli should have been cutting the path with his solid mass, low profile and sturdy shield. Oh well.
