Finally, someone talking about the range on this truck! I took it out for the first time and could not believe how short a distance it goes before losing signal, I could not stop the truck, and sure enough the concrete curb said HELLO! None of the other channels I have seen have addressed this issue.

What esc & motor combo would you recomend for speed runs to put in the Arma Limitless?

Get brother, are you at all familiar with the spektrum firma on the kraton 8s? Ive upgraded everything you've recommended aside from the esc, my goal was to stick with the spektrum smart tech but im not to versed in electric cars, will the firma 160amp with cap pack run better that the blx185? Eventually I'd like to get the 8s spektrum motor but for now I'm hoping to get the 6s motor running longer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Its a impressive car. Just looking at my losi lst xxl that breaks complete diffs at 4s every 6 battery packs. This is staying at one piece at 16s. That's just insane. My favourite car is my team associated rc8.te because of the durability. But damn. Arrma caught my eyes. I'm sick of upgrading every car to HD parts and other upgrades so it stayes in one piece. Thinking about getting the arrma infraction. Love the looks and quality. Greetings from the Netherlands. Ps. Doesn't the motor can needs a extra support?

Hi Rich I have got the 6 channel radio/ receiver you suggested from bangood. Can’t seem to get the avc function to work on it. What did you do? How did you wire it up? Pictures or help please? Or do you loose this function with this controller? Thanks Adam

adam you need to press the set button on the receiver with the end of a paperclick to get the gyro to kick in, it's in the instructions with the transmitter. 3 (I think!) short presses in a row and the green ligth comes on and the gyro can then be controlled via one of the two dials on top of the transmitter.

hello. Great video first off. Thanks. I live in san jose and I actually met you one time down at JJ customs. I bought a set of your motor wire extenders. So i got my Infraction last week and intend to make the mods you have since I already have a XLX ESC laying around. Looks like JJ's has a Pro P1521-C15 in stock so I plan on going down to pick it up shortly, as well as a JJ cap pack, but I am curious if you can fill me in on your pinion gear choice please.

Hey have u tried a 23t pinion in the infraction as opposed to the 27t speed pinion? Thinking about giving it a go to get a little more top end speed and hopefully still drift a bit w/o overheating. Hoping splitting the difference between the stock 16t and 27t speed gives the best of both worlds

I run a 22t pinion on my felony. It is definitely a beast with the 22t. The I put a higher rpm fan on the motor and esc. I noticed it seem to trap heat under the body. So I cut a small hole in the grill for air to flow through and over the esc and motor. It'll get warm, but not overheat. Hopefully that help.

i am looking to get the pisiden 2200kv motor and was wondering if that was a good motor and if the president motors are good at all

the poseidon ones are very good the 2200kv gives out 2500watts but the 1800kv gives out 3900, which is a big increase in power (56%) for a small drop in KV, which is why I opted for that one

Good just take the stock esc out right away, and upgrade to more amps. Keep the stock system imo for if there's trouble on one of your basher 6s models you'll have a switch in across the board. DumboRC is good it seems. I bought into RadioLink and like it except for the trigger needs more weight and the wheel as well. Need more resistance both. No lag vs the Stock V4 spek stuff and more info to tune. I got the 6ch RadioLink and two receivers. Both work but do have the appendage.. If I gotta route an antenna, I may as well get the range so 86 the stock Spektrum and get on board. Tactic still the King for rtr with no external antenna from the rx, firm ....../..and for the radio, tough resistance on the trigger and wheel. Only imo, friends. .

Great advice,,, but seriously,,, for me,,, and I'm not speaking for everyone,,, This is a serious outlay of my hard earned cash without the upgrades... Arrma really needs to step up for this ,,, as i do not appreciate the fact that I need to upgrade components,, to have a trouble free run time... Arrma should be flipping the bill for this oversight... And in this price range it should ready be sorted Come on Arrma really??

I just bought this truck and it's great. But the only issue I have is the range. It drives me crazy when I start losing signal when doing speed runs. The truck doesn't even go that far. That's the first thing I'm going to replace. I already added a fan on the motor. I don't need it to be any faster. So I'm not going to upgrade the motor. It's plenty fast stock.

Had heat issue with my limitless. If Ur inclined to fabrication and a bit of mickey mouse finagaling, you can make a forced air intake slightly ahead of the esc on the body. Worked great. In time I upgraded to 8s anyway. Crazy fast.

@@dylansimmons9346 sure. I bought a couple of small horizon hobby motor fans. About 1½inch square. Used a dremel and cut a 1in" square out of the body where i wanted the air to go. Screwed fans on body to pull cold air into body shell above motor and esc. On larger esc's theres low power outputs for accessories that u can hook into. Beyond that u gotta change the pinion gear to get longevity out of limitless. Its geared for speed runs only out of the box. Once i did that everything else was sorted.

I'm just working on a 16S upgrade so I'd have to say rather a lot! I'll do a total build price at the end of the new build, but the Castle XLX esc is $225, Motor $180, cap pack $45 and spool around $60 I think. New build has twin motors twin motor mount, twin escs etc

Centre driveshaft is poor quality too..Arrma need to address these issues...which im sure the V2 will have. So i will wait on that..cheers 👍

I'm sorry, but that is not a 400A ESC (if you have current measurements, please feel free to share). Castle is notorious for almost never listing their ESC specifications in full, especially continuous or peak current allowances - they typically give some hilarious holier-than-thou explanation that its too misleading etc (what is misleading?, these are physical electrical qualities of the product you are selling). I own 2 of those and I suspect they are around 180A at best best using static bench analysis run using a HW56113 motor , 8S, and a static drivetrain gear reduction unit I pulled from a 1/5 scale vehicle I had. Thermal shutdown appears to be around 95C also.

Not a clue why you think that? Both of the ESC's I had on the two stock infractions I owned fried within two weeks of purchase, both were only running the stock gearing....Not the speed pinion...never even got that far before the esc's burnt out...It's a fairly well known problem that the stock esc was/is useless. That's why my twin x 8S infraction runs twin castle XLX Esc's (I may just do the odd speed run on this channel....)

I like your radio system upgrade I mean dumbo rc seem to be tried and tested and work good. I don't agree with chucking the power system out for 8s capable one and spending a load more money , you should be upgrading the stock version, not just converting to 8s. This video should be called 8s conversion!!

This was not really helpful those components are a separate cost in addition to paying over $600 for the Infraction. I used some of the upgrades from your other videos. Like the PH twin turbo fans on the BLX system, as well as the turbo fan for the ESC. It would be helpful if you showed the process of the installation for these upgrades. Thanks for your videos

whilst the infraction is a great car the stock esc is just junk I bought two infractions and in the first week both escs burnt out without even fitting the speed pinion! I do have a video I am working on of the 16S twin motor build

...for speed runs. Man, totally respect your expertise and have followed your Infraction vids with interest. But, surely just buy a Limitless roller and spec for speed runs accordingly... Infraction is a 60-80mph gymkhana drift truck with limited aero. Yeah, geared to 110mph the ESC overheats? Bodyshell roof for the ESC is poor for airflow and crash damage. Agree about the junk radio gear. Fluids too. Save your coin for tyres!

James I didn't buy the infraction to do speed runs, although I've hit 101 in a shakedown run. If I wanted total ouright speed I'd might buy a limitless. BUT I bought the infraction as it epitomizes what this channels about, drifting and hooning anywhere and at any speed. That said my 16s infraction with twin 8s motors will be up for a top speed run when we get out of shelter in place! STOCK esc is junk, worse than junk, I bought two infractions the first week, both escs died on stock out the box gearing, not speed gearing! For the record 'Hooning' I can get through a fresh set of rubber in less than 7 mins! June/July I'll set the world alight

Fair play lad! Shouldn't overheat on stock. You can't get Infractions in the UK at the moment, but will be getting a second production run one when they come into stock. Hope they've sorted the overheating by then (sucks to see early adopters as guinea pigs...) Enjoy shredding that rubber!

Really you essentially created an entirely new vehicle. Not really sure why one would buy a RTR. Why not just buy the Arrma Limitless and the buy all the components you just highlighted.

I specifically didn't buy the limitless as I loved the body on the infraction and the fact that it was built to drift at speed. Places to run a limitless flat out are few and far between. The mods I did to this car aren't that different from upgrade paths on other cars. I do agree though that an infraction roller would be appealling. The stock esc is not very good and the stock radio is known for running out of range, these mods should see you run fast and consistantly and in the case of the radio - safely.

After watching some of your videos, I've installed the twin turbo fans and heat sink to the motor, I changed the fan on the ESC, and just ordered a Radiolink transmitter and receiver set. Should I change the Servo for a Savox Servo? Your videos have been very helpful. Thanks

But that lets it smoke the tires if it was lighter it wouldn't get that smoking effect and it'd want to blow over at speed

@@DriftomaniacsRC I would think that softer tires, traction compound and the treatment of the road surface would compensate for an issues related to traction; and proper aerodynamics would avoid lift (“blow over”) at speed.
