I heard my friend said that they (the players) complain about the shuttlecock's quality. 4. Wang Si xian ask for new shuttlecock but the opponent didn't want to. Then Wang Si Xian got a red card? I'd be fuckin pissed if I was Takahashi, too. She's serving at 12-15 and the shuttle lands clearly beyond the baseline and the blind line judge calls it in. This isn't tennis. No international badminton line judge should EVER miss a baseline call on a clear that's left to drop. Even if a leg or foot is in the way, you have trajectory. If amateur players like myself can see a bird falling out before it's even begun its descent, by trajectory, then line judges sitting in one spot the whole match should have perfect eyes on that line by 12-15. You don't get to that level of officiating with bad judgment. Fire that line judge; they're obviously corrupt.

To everyone thinking that #5 is a player yelling out, it is not. It's Carolina Marin who screams like a banshee whenever she scored a point. Because of this, the line judges thought it was in when it was clearly out. But instead the other player received a yellow card for believing it was out when Carolina Marin'a screams said otherwise.

For disqualification or BLACK CARD: When the umpire has to administer a flagrant or persistent breach of the relevant Laws by faulting the offending side and reporting the offending side immediately to the Referee with a view to disqualification, he calls the offending player to his side as in the RED CARD case and in addition he calls the Referee to inform him and if the Referee agrees and decides to disqualify the offending side, a BLACK CARD is given to the umpire (by the Referee). 2 yellow cards = 1 red card; 2 red cards = 1 black card Then the player is disqualified and out of the match.

Carolina Marin is a great player and congrats to her for the Olympic gold and overcoming so many challenges to rise to the top of the women's game BUT, im sorry, I'm just not a fan. she just looks so annoyed the whole time plus what's up with the screaming every time she wins a point? im sorry, I usually will skip her match because she's not very pleasant to watch

What's weird to me about the first one is that for both cards, that umpire waited until he was done delaying and was actually ready to play, just to delay the game more by giving cards.

All red calls were apt and within rules. So hats off to the referees. Marin has a habit of getting too aggressive, starts screaming and then starts throwing tantrums which are borderline insult to her opponents. Being passionate is one thing but playing with sportsmanship is necessary to keep playing till one gets banned for the absence of it.

Many umpires are volunteers, not professional players. They're paid very little. So on a bad day, your attitude could be their problem.

Umpire need to use the card wisely,because it is really effecting the momentum of the game. If he use it in final critical game in places like Indonesia,he going to create riot.
