My list: 1. Orient Kamasu 2 - brilliant diver 2. Seagull 1963- mechanical chronograph 3. Timex Waterbury GMT: a beautiful quartz GMT 4. Seiko Dresskx - a do it all automatic 5. Casio Lineage - a do it all solar/radio/quartz
Shoutout to the g-shock gm2100-1a for double the price too. Metal case makes it so versatile and the strap looks surprisingly good for the price (imo at least). I got it for $150 on amazon and have no regrets! Absolute beater and can actually be dressed up thanks to the bezel!
@@BryceKicks curious on your thoughts for a nice automatic watch I can wear to work (think button down shirt and some slacks) any orients that stand out to you?
Orient golden eye 2 is solid. Punches way above its price bracket with Hacking, hand winding and sapphire glass. Has an open-heart design as well so u can see the inner workings. In addition to having a sun burst dial. Got mine for £170.
@@BryceKicksthe new orient line of diver syles offer even more value! Another brand that has a similiar vintage-pilot style is Zeppelin. They have models at just about $200. Superb-looking watch. The only downside is they use mineral crystal (k-1) instead of sapphire although the k-1 is said to be more scratch-resistant than regular mineral crystal.
I really don’t think it is. There are so many orient fans (rightly so) and I see these types of comments every time there’s a list that includes an Orient
The Bambino, kamasu and mako always get alot of attention but orient got alot of great underdogs like the perpetual yearly calendar one, the Tri star and the world map one
Speaking for best affordable mechanical watches my choices would be: 1. Seiko 5kx or Orient Mako/Ray ll as Divewatches 2. The Seagull 1963 as an mechanical Chronograph for ruthly 200 $ 3. Orient Tristar as an versatile all day dress watch
Q reissue is a really good choice considering it comes in a lot of colour variants. Seiko SNK621/SNK623 were also great at this price points especially for those with smaller wrists.
I think you can get a Tissot Gentleman in Quartz for $300’ish. For an extra $100 bucks, that watch looks like a MILLION bucks. It is a HUGE step up from the Tissot shown here. I have the Automatic and I love it, but if I couldn’t afford more than $350’ish… I’d definitely get the Quartz. You won’t find a better looking watch for that price. Pure class, very versatile. Great ONE watch collection. All you need.
Hate battery operated watches so getting cheap autos for me is a must and cheers i think ill go with your advice and get orient , my mates have them and say how great they are so youve just tipped it in too" buy" mode lol
I picked up the Bambino 4 with the rose gold hands/indices and man I love that thing! I did swap the shade band for a coffee stained alligator band and it’s great dressed up, or with jeans and a t-shirt.
Great list, not sure how much I agree with the Tissot though. Also if you do end up going for one of the Timex Reissues go for one of the "gen 2" ones with the different bracelet to the one shown in this video. Trust me you will enjoy the watch a lot more.
I second that. I got a Duro as a beater and ended up liking it WAY more than I expected. I had to get it off the stock strap. I LOVE it on a Nato. I have 4 different Nato straps for it and they all look fantastic. Might be the best bang for your buck watch out there. PS: I even learned on RU-vid how to change the battery myself. It was surprisingly easy. I wish Casio made a solar Duro. I’d pay extra. That would be great. I think I got mine on Black Friday a few years back for $49.
I personally own the seiko LM, all time favourite vintage watch. But anything Tissot or seiko is reliable and affordable. You can go even more affordable if you buy pre owned as these brands are pretty reliable🙌
Rate this, you obviously know a bit about watches. I’d also recommend anyone to look into Casio. So many cool and fashionable watches that will last long and also cheap
My favorite is aw1240-57e for 180$. It looks really stylish and unique, is solar powered, made of titanium with sapphire glass and 100m water protection. Overall extremely cheap, light and durable with no maintenance.
Maybe a little bit more expensive but I wear my blood red orient sports kamasu diver every day. Inhouse automatic, saphire, 200m WR, date and day complications and screw down, signed crown. 350 usd in EU. Highly recommend.
I just picked up the G Shock GA-B2100 in all black yesterday. I love it. I'm considering getting just a basic GA-2100 and getting a mod case and bracelet for it.
This is an excellent list, my friend! So of course I subbed immediately 😎👌🏾 Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 P.S. The Orient is my absolute favorite. What reference number is it?
I would add orient kanno/ray/kamasu to that list, casio duro too. Red star Sea-gull 1963 is a mechanical chronograph that's cheaper than $200, I got mine for $130. Lastly I would mention Vostok amphibia were it not for the current situation.
I would suggest a Scurfa Diver one, a titan Grandmaster and a tissot moonphase for a 3-watch collection. Scurfa and Tissot are quartz and the titan one is an automatic. All Swiss movement (I guess) and should cost one less than 1000 USD.
