If you're looking for the perfect Bidet seat I've got great news for you. We have experience in over 350 different Bidets and today we're going to narrow it down to the top five Bidets of 2022. Starting in fifth place, we have the BB-1000. In fourth place, we have the Swash 1400, the same as the high-end Omega seat. In third place, we have the Eco Nova. In second place, we have the Cascade 3000. Then, our top pick of the year 2022 is the S550e. My name is Daniel Johnson, I'm your Bidet expert and the owner of ManyBidets.com, where we've sold over 10,000 seats in the last eight years. All of the details about all these seats coming up next.
You might be thinking, “Hold on, everyone else has the BB-2000 on their top five. Why don't you?”. At Many Bidets we try to be as transparent as possible. We absolutely love the BB-2000. However, the latest batch had some issues with their water heater. For that reason, at this point in time, we're not putting it on the top five. However, when the next batch rolls into the Bio Bidet warehouse that issue will probably be resolved and at that point in time, it would absolutely make the cut. You may also notice that a lot of top five and top ten videos shared that the C200 is a top contender. We disagree, despite the fact we love Toto. We have a video, you can see the video description for a link to that video, that talks all about it.
All of these seats have some things in common. They all have seat sensors, so if no one's seated on the unit it doesn't operate and spray water over the bathroom. They all have heated seats, so you can adjust the temperature of the seat for your comfort. They all have self-cleaning nozzles. They all have adjustable water temperature, adjustable water pressure, adjustable nozzle position and a variety of other features, but they also have some things that set them apart from one another. As we go through this video, we're going to show prices on the screen. These are prices as of early 2022. We have seen some price hikes here and there from manufacturers, so these are subject to change.
In fifth place, we have the BB-1000. This unit comes in both Round and Elongated and offers a White option only. The BB-1000 is a fan favorite and makes it into our top five, because of the high water pressure that it offers. Some of the highest water pressure in the market. This is a fantastic video and your channel has such great information. I wish I had found this channel earlier. A few days ago, I purchased a Toto Washlet+ C5 from Amazon. I didn't even know that there were different models of washlets. I had just seen some recommendations for "the washlet". I hope I'll like the C5. I was very skeptical of bidets but after watching your review of the above and my wife’s continued insistence that we get one, I bought the TOTO S7, their latest version. I have the MyOmigo luxury bidet seat which is the exact identical model S1400 by Brondell, same manufacturer just different brand name. I've had my bidet 3 years now and cannot live without it. It comes with every feature imaginable however the enema wash I don't use because it is too painful with that narrow stream. The oscillating wash feature of both the rear and front spray nozzles is a blessing and speaking of front, it was designed for females but does a real good job for male genitals too so when you leave the throne, you are fresh and clean. The only con I have with my bidet is sometimes the water gets very hot for a second or two just before the end of the wash cycle. I've informed the people at MyOmigo of this issue but so far no response. The MyOmigo and the Brondell S1400 are the exact same units so I'm not entirely clear who the actual manufacturer is. I assume they come from Japan and are distributed out of San Fransisco under various brand names. Still, mine has been solid for 3 years now and I am happy with my purchase. The hot water issue is solved by simply turning down the water temperature.

Best video! I am looking for my 2nd Bidet. I researched for my 1st but at that time I didn’t know what features I liked and use. When I got my bidet I didn’t realize I had position myself on set to get the front or rear clean I thought it did it by hitting the correct button?? I do understand we are all shapes and sizes. Do you have to do that with all brands??? I also like a the highest pressure. The things I want in a bidet is instead water heater, sterilization, highest water pressure maybe a enema wash. Maybe one I don’t have to adjust my body on to find the correct spot, but I am now used to that. I do not use the heated seat or light. But I have found I love a bidet and can not live without one. I currently have the Alpha JX owned it for 3 1/2 years and all of sudden the pressure went down 80% 😢. Any suggestions for my next bidet?

Thanks a ton for the video!! I started with a neo 120 and LOVE the water pressure I got with it. I decided to try an electric one and got the Tushy Ace but the remote and water pressure weren't great so I'm looking for a different one. I know you have the water pressure chart, would you say the 1st and 3-5 here compare in pressure to the Neo 120? Or is that not common for an electric bidet to match that pressure?

There is not a single electric seat that matches the power of the non-electric seats. The reason comes from the fact that non-electric units pressure comes from the house's water pressure, and an electric seat has to make sure that the water flow/pressure does not overwhelm the heater in the seat, so it has to be regulated. A lot of people that start with non-electrics feel like electric seats do not have enough power until they have used them for a few weeks. While the electric seats do not have the same power, they absolutely have enough power to get the job done once you get used to them.

Thanks for asking! I should start by saying I have not personally tried the Moen 5 Series. With SO many seats on the market, we have to be pretty selective on what seats we try. Based on our research, we believe it's a private label made by the same factory that makes the Bio Bidet DLS: www.manybidets.com/product/bio-bidet-discovery-dls/ Despite having a good profit margin, we do not tend to promote the DLS as it's spray power being iffy, and inconsistent, and the seat being less comfortable than others in the same price range. On top of that on their own site, the Moen 5 series has 22 reviews with an average rating of 3.2 out of five stars: www.moen.com/products/Moen/Moen-5-Series-Electronic-Bidet-Seat/EB2000 Based on the research we have done, I do not believe the Moen 5 Series belongs anywhere in the top 5 video. Ive never used one, but it seems like you sit further forward than a normal set, because of the water tank. Is there a way to install the toilet base (for a new house build), perhaps further out from the wall, so that the bidet can sit further back on the toilet base in order to give more room (for man bits) at the front? I assume not, since the bidet uses the seat bolt holes, but perhaps this is adjustable?

You are absolutely correct. The bidet seats to force you to sit a bit further forward because of how high the back is. What you're looking for is an integrated unit. All of these dryers are very similar to one another, so there's not much to describe. The TOTO is going to offer the best dryer. The rest are very similar, but even the TOTO is a bit sub-par

I have a super cheap bidet attachment that connects directly with the cold water line and does not heat up the water. I like the idea of it, but this one I have in particular is not working out. It's freezing cold water in these Minnesota winters is painful, and the steam is hard pressure even on the lowest setting. The single nozzle doesn't hit all of the necessary areas. Especially the female parts, and the narrow stream is very localized, which with the high pressure causes further discomfort. It has no drying option, so I am still wasting toilet paper. I'm looking for elongated, white at the cheapest price and best longevity that will take care of those issues I've found with my current bidet attachment. Any suggestions?

Great question! It's not an air freshener, but rather, a true deodorizer. In other words, there's no fragrance it puts into the air, instead it pulls the air from the bowl through an active carbon filter, that absorbs the odors. It should last the life of the seat, but if you find it becoming less effective over time, you can always request a replacement filter.

Most bidets can have basic options operated without the remote. However, to operate more advanced wash options you'll need the remote. Because all of these seats come with wall mounted remotes, it's very rare to see the remote broken or lost

A wall outlet should be available nearby. Preferably low and out of sight. Which location (height off the ground? To the left, right or immediately behind the toilet) is ideal for the wall outlet? Toilet flange should be 12 inches from the wall. Other than these considerations, what other factors should be factored in for new construction?

That's about it. You also want to make sure you don't purchase a French Curve toilet. We tend to recommend having the outlet installed just to the left or right. Which side does not matter as much as you might think, since bidet seats all come with a 4 foot cord.

Make sure you’re seated on the unit when trying the spray functions. I'd also try powering it down and back up. If you're still having issues after that, email us your order number with us, and we'll file a warranty claim with TOTO on your behalf.

Interesting the BB Discovery DLS isn't here as it is comparable to the Toto 550e/7s at less than half the price but 4 years more warranty. Got a washlette+ toto toilet but couldn't justify considering $1,300 mechanical product with such a short warranty. Ended up grabbing one for under $500 during black Friday and am pleased with it so far. Will be interesting to see what you include when you do an update.

The BB Discovery DLS missed the cut due to inconsistent water pressure, and a smaller, less comfortable seat. Because Bio Bidet's customer service is, at this point is practically non-existent, a seat from Bio Bidet REALLY has to wow us to make the cut. We trust TOTO for their reliability, feature variety, and high-quality materials that ensure longer lifespans. All our top 5 picks boast excellent customer support, except the BB-1000. Despite Bio Bidet's poor service, its cult-like following earned it a spot due to its unique features. Stay tuned for our 2024 video featuring exciting new contenders!

@@ManyBidets Well that is too bad to hear about their customer service being lacking, hopefully I won't run into that. Haven't run into any pressure variability yet either and the comfort of the seat is certainly an important but subjective one as my wife would disagree. As for Toto (or any other) "reliability", a one year warranty does not speak to that. Luxury priced products should have luxury warranties. And if they were indeed reliable, the longer warrantee should be included because it wouldn't cost them more money. I know your company likes them as they are likely your highest margin products but it would be nice if you and others would call them out on this so they might improve.

@@curtisbme Thanks for the feedback! I hope you totally love your new seat for years to come. Regarding TOTO, we are consistently encouraging them to increase their warranty length, but sadly we've not gotten anywhere with it. I wholeheartedly agree that increasing the warranty length should be a no-brainer, but sadly it doesn't matter what you or I think. Believe it or not, TOTO seats are the ones we make the LEAST on. TOTO's cost to dealers is sadly very close to cost. That being said, we still recommend them because they are quality products.

I bought a couple of seats during the pandemic, and have been wanting to upgrade to one made with better materials. Maybe a heavier wood seat and stainless steel instead of plastic.

Thanks for the comment! We've been told by multiple manufacturers that a wood seat is out of the question, as it gets nasty pretty quickly when mixed with a bidet function. I have had some customers install an attachment under a wood seat. Most, but not all come back with similar feedback. That being said, a lot of seats out there are made with ABS plastic, which is pretty breakable. You really want a seat that's made with polypropylene plastic. Would you be able to share what seats you purchased?

Price-wise, I’m waffling between the Cascade 3000 and the Swash 1400. Frankly, my concern is sufficient pressure to get the job done. If I’m understanding correctly, the 1400 might be a disappointment with 0.11 gpm vs 0.18 gpm with the 3000.

I would be very upset to buy a unit that didn't clean well. I like the idea of an adjustable spray width. Don't need dual nozzles. I live alone. I like the full 5 year warranty offered with the Cascade, but could probably live with the limited warranty offered with the Swash 1400. I'll check out the Eco Nova. Thanks.

So in general, what’s the life expectancy of these types of devices? I’m accustomed to the mindset that length of warranty is about the time when things begin to fail, sort of like cars. Can one expect to have to (replace) these every 3-4 years on average, or no?

Eco Nova, Cascade and S550e you can expect to get a few more years out of. I'd aim for 6 to 8 years out of any of those three seats. The others in the top five are going to be more in the 3 to 4 year range.

What part fails really depends on the seat. It's pretty mixed. The water heater and aerator pump are probably the most common. Brands like Bio Bidet and Brondell would need to be sent in for repair. Brands like Eco Nova or Cascade could be sent in for repair, or repaired in home.

I live in an apartment. Rental. I have a top flushing button to flush the toilet.. does this matter in deciding which bidet I should consider? I’m No plumber, and I do not see where I would plug it in?! I want a bidet SOOOO BAD!! Help?!

Thanks for asking! Both Villeroy & Boch and Duravit offer very unique bidets, that only fit their toilets. We sell the Duravit line of bidets, but their lineup is so particular, that not even every Duravit toilet will work with Duravit's own seats. While we sell Duravit, we do not list them on our site, as they are such a pain to pair, and very particular. Villeroy & Boch has a similar issue, but we don't sell that brand at all, for the same reason we do not list Duravit on our site despite stocking the brand.

It depends... There are some skirted Kohler toilets that will work with a select few seats, and others that won't work with any bidet seats. Do you happen to know the model number? Often this can be found by taking the tank lid off, and looking for a stamp that follows this format: K-#### . Knowing the model number will allow me to answer your question accurately. Thank you for bringing this up! The BB-1000, Cascade 3000 and Swash 1400 are all made in South Korea so the majority of our list are South Korean seats. However there are some brands missing from this list such as Kohler and American Standard. These brands are missing from our list not because of where they are made, but because, after testing both Kohler and American Standard's top of the line seats, we do not feel like they deserve a spot on the list.

Thanks for the question! Yes, you want to make sure it's 14 gauge or better, and that where the bidet seat cord, and extension cord connect is not resting on the ground. Assuming do those to things, using an extension cord is fine!

I’m confused… no comments on a drying feature for these? I’ve never used a bidet so I’m unfamiliar with how the drying systems work and there were no explanations here? Yet I saw drying features on the remotes?

I'm sorry about that! Yes, these seats have drying, but most of our customers do not use the drying function as the drying on any of these units takes a while to get the job done. For this reason, most of our customers simply dab dry. All are pretty similar from a drying standpoint, and all of them take a while to get a decent dry.

Good info. In future please include a portion where you either measure where a user would sit or show a dummy or a person sitting on each seat (while clothed). I had to return a BB 2000 because the seated area was too small for my man parts, I urinate when I sit and I felt like I would be hitting the floor. Also you have a spelling error, 60 day trial period is misprinted as trail period.

We always look over the text multiple times too!!! Thanks for pointing that out. The sittable space part of the equation is a tricky one because everyone sits on seats differently from one another, but really most any bidet seat will offer less space than a standard toilet seat regardless. The Eco Nova, Cascade 3000 and S550e (or S500e) are the most comfortable we've found, but we've not found a really good way to demonstrate the comfort level of each. We will keep thinking about it. Our goal is to make each video better than the last. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Which of these products offer an extended warranty? What do each of them cover?

In theory, an extended warranty is very appealing. However, over the 10+ years we've been selling bidets, we've come to the conclusion that they are not worth spending money on. While seats like the BB-1000 and BB-2000 offer the option to extend the warranty to 6 years, the Bio Bidet support team has become less and less responsive over the years. The Swash 1400 offers an option for a 5 year warranty, and their support team is more responsive, but we have a hard time getting the most commonly broken parts like the sittable lid covered under their warranty. As counter intuitive as it may seem, the seats on this list that don't have extended warranties tend to outlive the ones that do, and tend to offer a better customer experience.

One feature I don't see here is the adjustable nozzle position in both X, Y rather than only in the Y position. Spray width doesn't really compensate for that.

Thanks for the feedback! There are currently no seats on the market that offer side to side nozzle adjustments, but I absolutely agree that would be a positive addition! We've even brainstormed ideas in the past as to how we could make that work. Currently, if you have a bowel movement that is too messy to be cleaned by a stream aimed straight on, you will need to do some wiggling. However, you better believe that if a seat gets released that offers side to side adjustments, we'll be the first to review it and promote it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback.

@@ManyBidets seems like simply adding a rotation feature to the nozzle would be a great fix. Especially if paired with active length adjustment, that could cover quite an area with the spray. No idea how hard that would be to manufacture, but maybe you could look into it when you revamp the house brand.

@@ManyBidets I do have some questions actually. I can't afford the $2K seats, so I was hoping to repair my 6800. Do you have videos on repairs? In my case, the nozzle seems to be getting stuck and is having difficulty extending and retracting. The water pressure is also nearly nonexistsnt. Bad motor or something? I've opened it up but I don't see anything obvious

I've had the Omigo for 13 months. It just died, and all the cons described in this video are accurate. If you’re a male, the back of the unit pushes you forward enough that your anatomy touches the front of the toilet, which is made worse because the seat is so small. And why does Brodell (Swash 1400) feel the need to manufacture the same seat under a different brand name? It seems kind of shady to me.

Panasonic sold models in Japan under the 'National" brand and under Matsushita or decades and only began to use Panasonic as a global brand name about 10 years ago. Having worked for Panasonic, I can't say that is something that worries me, but we each make our own decisions.

Because Bio Bidet never admitted to the problem in the first place, we can only guess if it's cleared up, but we are seeing less complaints about the water heating issues, so if we had to guess, yes, the issue has been resolved.

We sell a few Kohler seats here and there, but we are truly not fans of the brand... I've also installed a very Kohler seats in our home over the years to feel them out, and was not impressed. Subpar washing power, and not comfortable to sit on are the two biggest things, but overall, just not a huge fan. This is simply my opinion, but these are the reasons Kohler seats have not made it into our top 5 videos.

We are still seeing issues, but it's a lot less than it was. We have started recommending Bio Bidet products less and less however... The product operates well, but the customer service you'll receive from Bio Bidet is practically non-existent... :-/

I don’t usually comment on videos, but I will say BioBidets Customer Service is nearly non existent. My BB-2000 started leaking after 20 months of being in service at my home. When you call Biobidet they have what sounds like an answering machine from the 1990’s. The “answering machine” says due to heavy call volume it may take longer than normal to reach a representative and suggest you contact them via their website. The “answering machine” then hangs up. It took a few days to get a response using their website. When I sent an email I attached a photo of where the unit was leaking, proof of purchase and the serial number. I was responsible for shipping it to them. I did get an email saying they received it and once they inspected the unit they would be in contact with be between 1-5 business days. I never received an email about what was wrong with it, but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived today. I guess I won’t complain much because I wasn’t charged for whatever repair they made. The total turn around from the day I sent it out to the day I received it was 11 days, which I think is satisfactory. I ordered a Moen 5 Series the day the Biobidet broke, I will say the Biobidet is like a Ferrari in comparison although I like the slim design of the Moen. I enjoyed your video, I am surprised being able to sit on the lid is something people really care about. I would rather have one that last at least 6 years and has a slim profile. I think for the price of these bidets they should all offer a better warranty.

They are all pretty similar. I'd say the three most comfortable with the most sittable space would be the high end TOTOs (S550 or S500), the Cascade 3000 and the Eco Nova. The smallest is the 1400. If you really want a lot of sittable space, you should consider an integrated unit.
