Black Widow Ultimate 2016 with the Razer green for $75-$80 works for me. I just wanted back lighting and a solid mechanical keyboard. The USB pass through is a nice feature. I just wish the secondary functions were back-lit as well.
I decided to buy a Blackwidow chroma V2 for my first mechanical keyboard after hours of watching keyboard reviews on youtube and it was on sale so that helped
I just bought the K95 Platinum. I wanted Gunmetal but sadly it's only in MX Speed and I wanted MX Brown, so I went with black. Still, I got it for like 119 (Decided to get the Amazon Prime Store Card and they gave me a $40 gift card). I'm kind of excited. I'm glad you can have custom profiles WITHOUT the software. I love that! Great video brother. Keep it going ^.^
My Logitech G710+ has probably been one of the best investments I've ever made as a PC Gamer. I only paid $100 for it and it's the best cherry MX keyboard you could get for the money at the time and after 3 years of solid reliability I don't think I'm getting rid of it any time soon!
I bought 2 razer headsets in the past (megalodon and tiamat 7.1). Kept them in perfect condition...Both stopped working in UNDER A YEAR. The sound just stopped coming though the speakers one day and I rage quit
Oh yeah my deathadder is also broken, in yup you guessed it, less than a year. It does this fucky thing when I left click it'll double or triple click.
Well razer audio is just shit.. their mouse and keyboards are good if you take care of it lol My keycaps on the k70 launched off and i could pick them off after 2 days and most was typing Didn’t even used it for 5 hours and i take care of my setup
I had a razer man o war and 5 months into use I went to take off the headphones and they snapped right in half. After that experience, I do not trust Razer and their products.
mechanicalkeyboards.com is essentially the only place to get them in the US... but boy was it worth getting my Shine 6 golden white :P MX switches, golden backplate, onboard profiles and a software that allows you to flash profiles onto your keyboard, top that all off with Doubleshot PBT caps and I'm in heaven :P
Hi Brainbean. What do you think about the G.SKILL RIPJAWS KM780 RGB? It has all the features, it is available with blue switches and I think its even a little cheaper.
you should really give the VAVA keyboard a try they are great mech keyboards under $80.00 USD and are really great keyboards, i was a corsair fan for ever until i got the VAVA and have not regretted switching thm out , and now have 2 on my desk and 3 others in the house on others pcs :) great video btw
I have and like the k55, but the only good thing is the quality rgb and volume controls, along with programmable keys. But these are just accessories, it's a membrwne and I am planning on selling it to get a budget mechanical keyboard (hcman)
Hey Brainbean, do you think you'll be able to do a review on the SteelSeries Apex M750? I've been hesitating on getting one for months and wanted a RU-vidr I trust to have a review on it.
K70 lux & K95 platninum are leaps and bounds above the Blackwidow, and I've owned them all (sold the Blackwidow though). I really can't see why you'd put it in second place. That spot could be taken by the MK750, which I'm very curious to try right now. Just listen to yourself talking about the MK750 and you might change your mind!
Well to be fair you can do things in mech keyboards like press keys quicker by only pressing to the actuation point, while on membrane you have to bottom out for it to register. Gaming mice and high refresh rate monitors will certainly make a bigger difference, but a good keyboard is helpful as well, especially games that are reliant on quick and accurate keypresses like Osu
the CORSAIR K95 has everything i need but i wish they offered blue switches :/..and the chroma v2 also has everything i need and want on a keyboard but dont really like the green switches.. :/
I've never used a ducky but i know it's a good rgb board and as in overrated it can still be good also i didn't even know they are over rated so could you explain that to me
I don't think cherry switches are on par with new switches. The reds are incredibly scratchy. Just because they've been around longer does not mean they are better than other switches. I recently picked up about 83 different switches from different companies and 2 packs of 21 from Kailh. (62 different other brand switches, 42 from Kailh (so really it's 104)) but I'd have to say that the Gateron Whites are incredibly smooth, light (35g) and quiet. Just because cherry is expensive doesn't mean they are the best. Just saying. Also mx browns have no tactility but Kailh browns are very nice.
Daniel Wilson yes I've used them and I can say they aren't very tactile compared to other brands. Considering I've got 62 switches from 3 switch testers and 42 kailh switches from sample packs of 21. I think I have a fair bit of knowledge compared to your limited view.
I'm looking to buy an rgb prefferable with blues or browns and my target price is around 150 euros. What would be the best option for that pricerange or should i spend a bit more on a better keyboard?
I also wish that the textures keycaps Corsair includes weren't angled, I've tried them in a store and it just feels like it would be annoying resting your fingers on them for extended periods. I get that it's to make them easy to find without looking but any gamer who is spending this much on a keyboard should be able to do that already
You have to make your own cause tkls are made to have more mouse space look at this layout maybe this would be good for you i.redd.it/djv4crqi7lh01.png he told me it has the same space as a tkl
All I want is an rgb keyboard with a nice wrist rest, full dedicated media controls, cherry mx blues or blacks that's under $150. I think the cm mk750 (no. 3) is best, what do you guys think?
Based on what you described that's not a bad choice. Check out the Thermaltake X1 RGB, or the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB, those have cherry blues, wrist rests and media keys.
I have a video that explains the different types in more detail but basically there are a few different types clicky tactile, (blue, green for razer) which means you get both a click sound and feel a bump when you activate a key. Tactile which gives you the bump without the click (Brown, orange for razer) and Linear which is smooth all the way down so you don't feel the key actuate. (Red, silver, yellow for razer).
Don't get it, the memchanical switches take a lot of force to press and strains your hands if you're doing long sessions. Especially when gaming, using shift to sprint, your pinky will hate you.
Việt Hoàng I’m specifically looking at gaming keyboards in this video so more emphasis on macro keys and softwares stuff like that than more typist oriented keyboards.
I just got the G910. I like the feel of the key presses but for some horrible reason the dumb phone stand it comes with has a fixed light blue accent color on it. Also a lot of colors look very blue with the RGB, most notably purple & white. Also, the wrist rest is cheap feeling & non-detachable. Beyond that it goes out to the sides way more than it probably should and takes up a massive footprint, especially with the side macro keys. Honestly though in my opinion these Romer-G switches are awesome, they are inexplicably satisfying to press, and they're almost as quiet as the MX Silent switches that are on my old Strafe RGB. Also the whole top is made of plastic, which seems like a major shortcut for a board that originally goes for $180 (Luckily I got this one at Best Buy for $90). I'm gonna decide in the next few days if the amazing key switch feel is enough to keep me on board with this thing.
If you want cohesive software then you would want to go with Razer. I personally use a DAE mouse as well but I like the K95 Platinum for my keyboard. You don't have to have the same brand for each peripheral.
Guys help me out in case I'm missing a good brand, I want per key illumination control, mechanical keys that click like they used to back in the good old days and a soft wrist rest like the razer. But if possible I'm looking for one under £100 in UK? Any suggestions on Amazon welcome
The lighting on all these keyboards look horrible. Had hoped they would have found a way to fix the light pollution from keyboards by now. I want my keys backlit, I don't want my room, or even worse, my monitor lit up by the "backlighting" of my keyboard.
