Johnny has periodically asked John more and more questions specific to the drinks and how to make them every week. This marks the beginning of one of the greatest bartenders and one of the most successful clubs of our time. A true prodigè. Keep it up guys love it
Loved how happy Johnny got when John said “you can do whatever you want it’s your show” lol I’m envious of the chemistry you have as father and son and you show how natural and authentic yalls interactions are in these longer videos. Makes me Wish my dad and I had some kind of hobby like this to be passionate about together. Keep doing what y’all do, I love your content. Thank you and happy new year y’all
Negroni is #1 for me of all time. It is so simple but so effective. The beautiful thing about the Negroni is that switching different ingredients vastly gives variations to the taste
@@jordansuydam5773 you can try other Appertivos besides Campari. There is one called Bruto Americano that makes a warmer spicier Negroni. Gaz Regan a prestigious cocktailian legend created a Negroni with Gin, Jäegermeister, and sweet vermouth that is excellent
Interesting dynamic here. Young man is really concerned with the video aspect of the content, while his dad is as cultivating as ever with the creation of these fine drinks. Yet they are greater than the sum of their parts and make a great duo.
Great guys. Some of my favourites is the Gin Fizz, also a standard GT with elderflower lemonade or Pink Gin just blended with schweppes russchian and fresh raspberries.
Guys, please consider using 3-4 dashes of Angostura orange bitters for your gin martinis. The earliest recipes call for it, and the difference is night and day. It’s magic, try it
@@JohnnyDrinks I hope you do, as you two guys have a highly informative channel. Maybe your dad doesn’t like vermouth because he’s drinking Rossi which is what’s served in every dive bar or airport in America. To me a good dry vermouth IS the martini, so I’ve never understood the appeal of calling chilled gin (or worse, vodka) a martini. To each his own. However, here’s my fav recipe for the ultimate classic martini, which to me is the best cocktail on earth: 2.5oz London dry gin (I like Beefeater as my workhorse) 1/2 oz Dolin or Noilly Prat dry vermouth 3 dashes Angostura orange bitters Stir for 20 seconds. Empty into a cold martini glass, add expressed lemon peel and a Pearl’s blue cheese olive.
Negroni all the way. I love Bombay Gin and my go to is always gin and tonic or gin and ginger ale with lime. But tonight I tried the Negroni and it was perfect. Thanks for the drink recommendations. My hubby and I are fans of the channel. Keep up the great work ✌️🍻
You guys have been teaching me so much about different drinks to order. If a bartender doesn’t know a drink is it acceptable to let them know what goes in one or should you just order a drink they know?
@@JohnnyDrinks -1 dash Angostura bitters -1 oz Gin -1/2 oz Fresh lime juice -1/2 oz Heering Cherry Liqueur (Cherry brandy) -1/3 oz (2 parts) Grenadine -1/4 oz Cointreau -1/4 oz DOM Bénédictine -4 oz (16 parts) Pineapple juice Pour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into highball glass. Garnish with pineapple and cocktail cherry.
With all due respect stop calling them cocktails when you’re just pouring shit in a glass.. the measurements are extremely important in a cocktail since they’re entirely about balance. Plus you mostly just make highballs. Not real cocktails. I dont know how youre encouraging people to not measure either 🤦🏻♂️
These guys' personalities are great - enjoy the vids! But some tips for a mixologist-level Negroni: (1) use a jigger. (2) peeling orange top-to-bottom is usually too much; aim for 3 inches. (3) Stir way less than they do; ice in the glass will dilute it further. Next, top gin cocktails are arguably: Gin & Tonic, Gin Martini, Gin & Tonic, Gin Gimlet, Tom Collins or French 75. Gin+Juice is like a pool-party item.
Vodka is a spirit with no identity. It's Odorless, colorless and flavorless. So in a cocktails the Vodka doesn't shine because the other ingredients will dominate. Reason why most bartenders hate Vodka.
@@elitekingsclash7140 i think it depends what type of vodka we're talking about. There's cheap ass stuff that stinks and tastes horrible. (Popov) then you got kettle one and belvedere which are sweeter in scent and tasting. Popov reminds me of a clinic when you get a shot (pun intended) in the arm and they swab it with rubbing alcohol before jabbing you. The smell makes me gag.
@@anonymouse956 Yes, but vodka has so little taste. There are so many different gins now. Find a nice bar or liquor store that does tastings and explore. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, the difference between gin straight and with a little tonic is incredible; it can totally change the taste. I have a tomato gin that is super delicious - Moletto. Check it out! Regards from Indiana!
Top 5 Gin Cocktails Ramos Fizz Negroni Aviation Last Word Gin Martini or Vesper I've never gone wrong making these cocktails for anyone while running a bar.
I like you guys but as a bartender it’s cringy to watch you guys free pour any actual cocktail and not use any traditional methods to making drinks. More so taking bartending or mixology as a joke kinda..
I guess my favourite gin drink is gin + rosemary put over fire to wake the aromas + some blackberry pulp finished with dash of prosecco and tonic, one of the best things I have drunk in my entire life, you guys definitely have to try this one out
A bartender at the restaurant I work at did roughly the same thing with a dash of lemon juice and some egg white. That was the prettiest cocktail I've seen in my life.
25 years local service tons and tons of money and how mr John Rondi end up on RU-vid ? Ps: I’m just being curious and if you think I’m impolite I’m sorry about being that rude
