You forgot the Killer Frost before Caitlin Snow, Loren Fortier, though she was never called that as she developed her powers & condition at the end of the introductory comics of new 52 Firestorm, but she has all the powers & nuclear origin of Killer Frost & if it looks like a duck & smells like a duck
@@srstriker6420 as someone temporarily & recently disabled, dislocated kneecap around midnight 10/(2 - 3)/19, I would like to ask of him to do either a list of top disabled villains or recovery stories, ex. Batman recovering from Bane's Back Breaker, before Halloween
A list of great things to come out of Sweden; •First Aid Kit •Dynamite •The Zipper •ABBA •The Skarsgård family •The Seatbelt •Avicii •The Pacemaker •Rebecca Ferguson •The Adjustable Wrench •God (Dolph Lundgren) •And Mr. Rogues
I think that the three Killer Frosts each serve as a great example of different kind of villain. Crystal Frost is the Tragic Rogue, someone who you genuinely feel sorry for but know deep-down that they can't overcome their demons, which is why her death & replacement with Louise was (in my opinion at least) the logical next step forward; its better to kill her off & replace her while she's still been consistently shown as a tragically psychotic character than let other writers ignore that element & water it down to the point where the soul of the character's basically non-existant. Louise Lincoln is the Psychotic Rogue. She was already kind of a d*ck before she got the power & just became worse & worse after she got it. She may have one or two sympathetic elements to her personality & background, but for the most part you just like to watch her raise hell on the battlefield. I personally find her to be a ton of fun when she's just allowed to be crazy like that. Caitlin Snow is the Redeemable Rogue. She's the one who was dealt a bad hand by the world, understandably lashed out a bit but still has the rationality & the will to attempt rehabilition & even heroism. Both the CW & the comics have portrayed her as a hero in some capacity before, and I think that's the best way to handle her. Otherwise she kinda feels like a retread of Crystal's tragic take on the concept. Comics hardly ever let this sort of thing last, but I hope that DC lets Cait slowly transition into a hero instead of villainising or killing her, because that would just be a waste of some magnificent potential. TL;DR: Three women got afflicted the same curse. The first succumbed to it, the second harnessed it for evil & the third slowly mastered it & used it for good. That's how I'd like to see them portrayed at least.
@@srstriker6420 I'm pretty sure that her original attacks were simply an act of revenge, and everything after that was at least in-part fuelled by a need for her to feed on heat. I could be misremembering there though. I don't recall her ever having the malicious streak that Louise & Crystal had beyond her revenge scheme, so she's definitely not quite as bad as either of them.
@@srstriker6420 Oh, I'm sorry for the mix-up. Cait only truly went evil when she was working under Savitar in season three of The Flash. It wasn't particularly well-handled but it didn't matter that much once the season ended. If she's gone evil again I wouldn't know because I'm fairly behind on a lot of the CW stuff.
@@srstriker6420 Had season 3 not been cut down, there's every chance she could've returned. But then the question becomes who becomes the big bad then? There's the Shards of Equinox arc, but unless Equinox Prime was trying to reassemble himself, it makes more sense for someone else to assemble the shards. Also, that could've given us a chance for a Power of the Parasite episode. Parasite encounters Equinox's shard of Gluttony (or whatever else would be best for Parasite), and Batman and Superman have to team up to stop him before he uses it to destroy Metropolis. Mr Rogues would've loved it. Think of it: Brainiac, Toyman and good old Myx appeared in Battle of the Superheroes, yet Bizzaro and Parasite didn't (unless you count Myx turning Jimmy into a Bizzaro for about a second). Seeing Jensen's Parasite battle Batman and Superman on that show would've been amazing.
This video left me cold. Not because I don't like her, I just never read any of her stories. So while I'd have preferred a Jack Frost/Blizzard Ironman villain video, this was a good way to break the ice with Killer Frost. But hey it's a Mr. Rouges video so just chill out and enjoy.
Thanks for the list. Killer frost looks like an interesting character after seeing her in some animated adaptions. Looking into firestorm. He seems underrated too.
Killer Frost is a weird mix of cool and lame for me. I love her design and personality, but her backstory always was kinda eh to me. I don't care for villains based around hating a gender as it gets kinda old. And I don't like how Cait has become a hero and I hate hate hate that CW split personality bs. But I admit I'm interested every time she shows up and I definitely still like her despite my complaints. I never knew much about Crystal and how pointless of a knockoff Louise was, but it's neat to see that she usually is disturbed but with potential to be good. CW got that right at least. Defintely would like to see a modern take on Crystal. In fact, what would you say to a story where her and Cait actually meet, and what do you think would happen?
I do not care for Snow and the backstory of Frost could work if it was updated a little bit. We will never know since DC won't bring her back (bloody bastards).
I definitely would like to see Crystal come back. DC has made it pretty clear that they just don't know what to do with KF by having 3 different ones and pretty much no common characterization as of late.
Well, I don't think Caitlin would like a lunatic like Crystal. No idea how Crystal would feel about Caitlin though. She's pretty unpredictable after all.
Didn't Mr.Freeze and Killer frost have a thing in one point? Anyways great videos, i was watching some of your old videos and you did mention a promise in them. It was Christmas special video about a evil Santa clause running around in gotham. I don't know how to spell his name, but it was a Russian hitman in a gang war, is he up next anytime soon?
They did, very briefly. It was very disappointing. She was only using him and nothing interesting was done with the relationship. I think you mean Mr Zeiss. Don't have any plans for more forgotten rogues at the moment.
Is killer “frost” still a hero after the JLA run by Steve Orlando? I know that JLA run is not well received. I still liked it as a fun side league. But, I do agree the team lineup in JLA didn’t make much sense.
Good stuff, the only one I have read from your list is the New52 one... thanks for the recommendations, as usual! I discovered Killer Frost thanks to the Batman: TBATB episode "Darkseid Descending", and "Batman: Assault on Arkham" (and later in "Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay", even if it wasn't the same Killer Frost). Then it was the CW Flash, in which I thought she was the coolest gal around (not the most popular opinion apparently). I shall read these issues ASAP to make up for my years of ignoring this rogue, foolish man that I was >
Lincoln had something going for her on BATB. Haven't read anything with Crystal yet, so I can't comment on her. Really should read some Caitlin Snow ones though, especially since I'm one of few people who actually LIKE the New 52. (Only read the first five Batman arcs, mind. Night of the Owls, Death of the Family, and the Zero Year arcs)
1:05 - N°5 - Burning desire 3:00 - N°4 - The ice slaves of killer frost 4:50 - N°3 - A cold time in the old town tonight/the icy heart of killer frost 7:00 - N°2 - Freezing to death 9:30 - N°1 - Kiss not the lips of Killer frost
You know how the Caitlin Snow Killer Frost ended up reforming and joining the Justice League of America? Am I the only one who thought she really should have changed her codename? I mean, let's face it, calling yourself KILLER FROST when you're trying to be a hero is gonna give a lot of people the wrong idea. Considering how the CW Flash show is pushing her as a hero as well, this reformation might actually have some staying power (though anyone who actually read that JLA book, feel free to correct me if her face turn didn't stick). If it's a case of you needing someone to be called Killer Frost, you could just revive Crystal Frost or Louise Lincoln and have Caitlin be her own separate character. DC has tonnes of ice characters as it is. One more couldn't hurt. Anyone got ideas for a new hero name for Snow? Then again, Major Disaster once made League member status without a name change, so what do I know?
Any chance you could do a video on the original villains from the Adam West show? Except for Egghead, DC refuses to have them appear in the main comics for some reason.
Can you do a the best Bizarro stories video? My favorite is in the All Star Superman books where Superman is trapped on Bizarro World and needs to escape. It’s a look into the hell that is Bizarros mind and world, the confusion of the creature who fights Superman. I would love to know your favorite story of this imperfect clone. Hope you are well.
I know you've done almost every Batman villain, but you should do Professor Pyg. He's really creepy. Plus if you plan to da anymore Marvel villains I think Galactus would be a good choice.
I am hoping that you will gift us all with a video of your top five favourite Killer Frost Comic Covers. I hope you also will check out the DC Comics Bombshells retro version of Killer Frost.. Loved the thumbnail image of Frost. Very hot for an Ice Queen!
Mr. Rouges did you have the chance to read Justice League vs. suicide squad (2017)? Just interested in your thoughts on how they used frost in that book.
I did not read that, no. I hear she defeated the entire league though? And then reformed and joined them. See, I did do a little research at least... ;)
Mr. Rogues you that great cheeky humor!! Keep up the great work!! Would love more random posts like you do for marvel movies. You make some great comment sections...
Another great video, and a lot of good reads to find. :) On another note: do you have a Postal box where books could be sent ? I’ve found some comics I think you may enjoy.
I really do not care about Carlin Snow. Why couldn't they just bring back Louise or Frost? Oh wait, the new 52 was full of bloody stupid ideas! I do not like her visual design or the fact that they turned her into a bloody hero, especially in the Flash TV show. The Jekyll and Hyde arc grew tiresome very quickly. I like Louise. True she may not be complex, but she is very wicked and I love pure evil villains. My love of KF started after I saw her in JL. She was sadistic and snarky. I wish there were more stories about Louise. In fact I wish there were more Frost stories in general (as a villain of course, both a bloody hero). However, I will admit, while I like Louise, I really like the original. Honestly, between her and Louise, I would not mind if Frost came back. She has a great backstory abd hood motivations. I really want to see her return and kill Snow. If Possible, could you please make a top 5 best Ultra Humanite stories list in the future? He is another overlooked Rogue who deserves more attention.
