Enjoyed this video.... Athol has lots of land for walking dogs and space to embrace. I could do naked rain dances here and no one would ever know or care.... I love the smell of wilderness.
I drove by Wallace this past summer and admired how beautiful of a town it looked when I drove by it. Nestled in such beautiful scenery as well. Love it
My parents live in Montana and we stop in Wallace everytime we make the trip. All of these towns are definitely on the list for our move in the upcoming year or two.
Absolutely love your videos. We moved to North Idaho before knowing about you but we look forward to watching each and every one of these. Love your honesty and knowledge. You’re the best!!
We bought in Priest River 5 years ago, land only and built our house there, been watching your videos and have takin your advice most of the time, Our plan is to retire there and so far, it looks good, Yes, everybody knows your business, and that has been good and bad, but all and all more good than bad. My advice is vet any contractor you hire, some are crooks!
@@Brotherfromcalvary it depends on how Nazi controlling each states laws are. Here in NY they can and WILL give your 10 year old child a sex change and if you are against it they will TAKE your child from you and tag you with CHILD ABUSE. its psychotic! The school system trumps the parents My son is MINE not the governments ! Period!
The biggest drawback in a small town, aside from people with addictions or labs, is hospitals can be far and may require air lift in time of emergency. It’s not practical for emergencies and for people over 50. IMO
Really enjoy your locale videos. Would love to learn about the Highway 2 stretch west of Sandpoint - Priest River & Oldtown (Newport) and your take on the region. Looks like info is hard to come by versus Bonners Ferry / Moiye Springs area.
Some of the movie "Heaven's Gate was filmed in Wallace, back in the late 70's. My wife and 2 daughters were extras in the movie. The historic train station was the main reason they used Wallace. The station use to be where I-90 is now. They even shipped in a steam loco with vintage RR passenger cars and ran it on the tracks that have long sense been removed. I had a nice 35mm camera and got a lot of pictures. I even caused the director to stop a shoot, because I got in the scene while taking some of these pictures. OOPS.
There is but you pretty quickly get to Native Reservation land and that is a video all in itself. It’s very beautiful but there are different rules down there. Feel free to reach out for more info on that topic. Explore@livinglifenorthidaho.com
Statistics show that people moving from California is making Idaho more Republican. We move away from California because we are sick of Democrats. I am hard core Republican and so is all my family and friends who all moved here. My family members that is Democrats are still in California. I hate California and everything it stands for. The arm pit of America. I moved here because it is red. More people like me.
More good stuff! You mentioned that Wallace is the center of the universe but didn't show the manhole cover! My bride and I agree completely with your thoughts about that very cool town. I don't agree re: Hayden Lake being a small town. It may be incorporated but it's hardly a town compared to your other examples. Bayview was a good addition and should bump HL out. ;-)
Hayden is kind of OKKK....if you know you know....Just saying. My old friends from Kommiefornia moved to Sagle.....Wallace? I don't like shovelling snow enough to live in Wallace....Great downtown when people decide maybe they should open their business....They certainly run on a different "time clock" in Wallace....I'd probably do Kellogg over Wallace myself.
You’re pretty close to Kootenai Health Hospital as well as urgent cares in each area so it’s good. Of course all of it is a bit of a cluster after Covid but my recent surgery and continued care has been good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
When I lived in a small town in Vale Oregon I grew up there. It was great but when I moved to Garden Valley well lived in Ontario before that Garden Valley was there was a down. I wanted a girlfriend but didn’t find one right in Garden Valley but I found one there Avimore being built to Boise county. Her aunt lived in Garden Valley.i could go down their and visit her it made not need my dating website anymore but she now lives in Bonners Ferry
What about small town name as Saint Marie’s Is that an good town to live in as I have been planning to move there for few years and still thinking about come and visit there to check it out myself
I get what you're doing but I don't have an appreciation for it I want to keep North Idaho small and protected. It's getting bad enough look what's happening in kootenai county and their politics.
I live in the Okanogan Highlands of NE Washington and it's the same geography but it's gone to hell I've got a 120 acres and from the bush of Alaska and don't like town. And that price land will never happen for me. 80 yrs old on social secuity. Came here 30 years ago when the land was buyable Not now😢Dandahermit
False: Sagle is not a town/city as you call it--it is a zip code, only. Bayview--same thing, not a town/city. Both of these communities are unincorporated, both are "towns" only if you count a zip code as a town, which is false. But then what do you expect from a real estate agent NOT from N. Idaho.
Honest truth, I thought about saying “the unincorporated community of Sagle” but it just didn’t roll of the tongue the same. But thank you for being such a support to this channel. Every comment really does help, even when it comes from a place of anger and idiocy. Take care.
Now this was something that hit home I live in St Mary's which is a small town of about 2,500 people in North Idaho. It's absolutely beautiful but it's a town of time forgot It's extremely racist and homophobic. I've gotten in fights because I wear two earrings and I'm a 250 lb bodybuilder. I'm completely heterosexual but because I get hit on by God's girlfriends and wives I've got more problems in this town than you could ever imagine Even legal ones. For doing nothing illegal at all if you go to North Idaho get ready for rumors and they're never going to be good.
Stop talking about how great Northern Idaho is we don’t really want any more liberal thinking people who try to change our beautiful area with the ideas that made them want to move from where they live. Media the worst thing to happen to small towns.
