I love how this game really made you get closely attached to Otto. Making him a great friend, and mentor. It was masterfully done how they took one of Peter's ONLY father figures in his life and turning him into a sadistic evil villain. Forcing Peter to have to FIGHT the man he loved his "Father". But to me Otto seemed more like Peter's loving Grandfather or Uncle. i think Otto kinda reminded Otto of Uncle Ben in a way. Well done Insomniac! Can't wait till the next installment!!!
3:38 This...this is one of the main reasons I love Peter Parker-especially this version. His kindness. His selflessness. Even when he has to use resources that are being used to help others, he still hates doing it because he feels they should all go to the people who need them.
@@dotsmcduck its definitely a great opening, with nathan hanging off the train, shot in the gut, and then it goes back to show you the events leading up to it, starts off with intrigue, but i feel that spider-mans opening perfectly sets up things that come back later in the story and gives him a choice (go after fisk or pay his rent) and he chooses to go after fisk, which he ends up paying for later when he's evicted from his apartment. And also im a huge spider-man fanboy so i naturally love it to death and it also features one of my favourite songs (alive by warbly jets)

IMO one of the Best moments in the game was when Miles and MJ saved Petter from falling into the flames, it really showed that he is still a human and not some kind of a God who is invincible.

I couldn't do a top 5, as there's so many great moments, so I had to do a top 10. 10: Spider-Man teaches Miles on how to fight and defend himself and allowing him to punch him in the jaw. 9: Helicopter chase sequence. 8: The Sinister Six breakout of The Raft and take on Spider-Man together. 7: The second post credits scene with Norman in the secret lab, revealing Harry having the symbiote attached to him, setting up Venom in the sequel. 6: The Grand Central Station mission with Spider-Man and MJ working together to secure and disarming the Devil's Breath. 5: The City Hall bombing. 4: MJ and Miles save Spider-Man from falling to his death by grabbing his web + Peter and MJ apologising to each other straight after that scene. 3: The Conversation between Peter and MJ on the roof of the F.E.A.S.T building, with MJ comforting and telling Peter about what's happened to Harry, Martin Li and Otto is not his fault and him calling her "Partner" at the end. 2: Final fight against Doc Ock + the final conversion with Peter and Otto at the end. 1: Aunt May's death + Peter and MJ get back together. Funniest moments (Only top 5 for this): 5: Spider-Man attempting to stop the train exactly like in Spider-Man 2, only it fails and him saying; "That totally worked last time." 4: Peter's conversation with Aunt May at F.E.A.S.T, attempting to distract her (so Martin Li and those who work there, can surprise her with the celebration of her working at F.E.A.S.T for five years) but Aunt May mentioning MJ and how she and Peter would have made "Beautiful babies", to which Peter replies with; "WOW!". 3: Peter and MJ at her apartment, with him cooking in her kitchen and MJ suggesting they work together as partners before he tries to go, leaving his clothes on her kitchen floor and then walking backwards to pick them and leaving them on her couch. 2: Peter and MJ texting to each other after he has defeated Martin Li, with her thinking it's over between them and him saying; "N-n-no-no-no, not that kind of over!". 2 things i feel like i need to say about this video. the first is that this is the best version of miles becouse while we connect to peter's human side we connect to miles becouse he is us, connecting to spiderman. while spiderman is who we want to be miles is who we are. the second is that i dont know if its better from what on the list but worth mention peter and MJ's relationship. i really liked the part where peter comes to MJ to talk over dinner becouse it shows most if not all the important part about their relationship and charectors and why they are "meant" for each other. generally i would say all the charectors that played a part in the game has so good that they are my new favorite version of them.
The bombing mission hit me HARD! in the first playthrough. I had played through so many missions where I fight the bad guys, I win. Then the bombing happened, and it just made me realize how mortal Spider-Man was. I broke down in tears even before I reached Jefferson Davis in the realization that the game made this a failure for the player, and you were helpless as people died and bodies fell around you. It reminded me really about 9/11 and the Boston bombing. I had no one close to 9/11, but I was in college when it happened. Watching it on tv gave me this feeling of helplessness. The Boston bombing I had a relative actually about 1/2 a mile from the finish line when the bomb went off. I had no idea at the time that she was there, but when I saw it on television, something screamed in me to call her and check. She was okay, wasn't even in the race, but it was something that reminded me of this. Oh yeah, when my mom and I played the bombing, she actually thought Miles was dead. She was rattled when she found out that it was Davis who died instead.

I literally cried during the death aunt may I could’ve cared less about her like aunt matin the mcu but this was legitimately sad and that’s why this game isn’t great just because of it’s graphics and combat and side missions no it’s because story made me feel like spider man , spider man is Peter Parker , Peter Parker lost aunt may , I felt sad like Peter when it happened , spider man excepted adulthood and I was spider man and spider man became greater Wow

The Spider-Cop moments are just hilarious; having the suspicion that Harry was ill was truly scary, and seeing him with the symbiote was shocking; J. J. J. has always been presented as a biased newspaper writer, so seeing him admit Spider-Man did something right was really rewarding for me; I had no idea who Mr. Negative was before playing the game, nor did I know about Mr. Li, so that moment of Li seeing the Demon mask, his face just says it all, and the fact that such a good man could fall is heartbreaking; the thing I love about Peter leaving Octavius is the betrayal you feel for Ock as he is left alone to rot in jail, like Evan said, he’s the most somber character because you feel bad for him throughout the story, and you understand his motives for being evil; I don’t even need to explain why Aunt May’s death is #1, you already know why, Evan knows why, and the moms who watch their sons play games know why
My favorite scene moments are Silver Sable first appeared, Mary Jane Watson surprised Spider-man aka Peter Parker, Peter Parker texting Mary Jane Watson in every missions, and The Final Boss fight against Doctor Octopus
I knew that you would mention the city hall bomb attack it was such an emotional moment 😭😭😞 especially when you were playing as miles and you were seeing peter lying on the ground and mj was trying to wake him it was too damn emotional but the weirdest thing about this mission is when you are playing as miles morales you know that he is in a very uncomfortable and dangerous situation and he is worried about his parents’s life but you can actually use photo mode and MILES IS SMILING IN PHOTO MODE!! LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED AROUND HIM i hope insomniacs fix this and make miles not to smile in the photo mode in that mission because it is very stupid and non sense seeing miles smiling in that very tragedic moment and anyway cool video bro👍👍👏

Great list, though I was disappointed to see that Spider-man's first fight against the Sinister Six wasn't on it. Personally, it's my second favorite scene in the game after the final battle against Doctor Octopus, and in my opinion it looks even more cinematic than the final battle did.

Can't argue with your choices. Jefferson Davis' death was impactful for me as well, given prior to the bombing sequence, we worked with the guy in a prior mission as Spider-Man, so there was a genuine feeling of loss. As such, when Miles works with Spider-Man, and gains similar powers, I saw parallels between them, and Batman and Robin/Nightwing. (Now, I want to see these two doing tag-team battles in the sequel game.) and, I noted that Peter himself unknowingly foreshadowed his hard decision to let his aunt die to save others when he left Octavius.. "Do what you think is best..even when it hurts like HELL."

Spider-Man teaching miles to fight- just a nice bonding between Spider-Man and shows he’s more than just your stereotype hero and helps in more than just one way 3. City bombing- tense as balls with total panic 2. Octavius’s defeat when talking to peter- emotional to the teeth 1. Aunt mays death- OH THE FEELS THEY HURT. I was this - close to crying and knowing me that’s saying something I don’t cry.
Honestly other than peter my favorite characters were may and Otto ( I also liked mj but she wasn’t as good) and it was annoying since May dies and Otto turns evil
My top 5 5: MJ's penthouse escapades. It was the first time I enjoyed playing as MJ. Because I'm not one for stealth, I prefer more "direct" approaches, I hated the whole sneaking around stuff (same reason why I'm not including any Miles Morales scenes - sorry Evan). Finally equipped with a tazer with which she could take people down, game became more fun for me. Aside from the fun I had, the chapter revealed a lot of the truths and backstories for the main characters. Finally, MJ leaping off with a blind faith in her partner was hands down amazing. 4: Jefferson & Spider-Man vs Demons. One of the things I like best in superhero fiction is when the hero is helped by those he usually helps, but not in a roles are reversed way, rather "they join forces" kinda way. In this chapter, Jefferson and Spider-Man were like actual partners, one of them filled in where the other lacked. You could see them acting like a unit throughout the chapter, like every step of the way. From the warehouse investigation to the action on the main road. I would have loved more if it was Yuri, since it would add more to their relationship, which I really wanted this game to explore, but Jefferson needed this moment I guess, so I have no complaints. 3: Spider-Man vs Li (first arrest). I don't particularly like Li or Mr Negative, but the whole scene that starts with MJ getting stuck inside the train station with Devil's Breath and ends with Spider-Man knocking Li out and him getting arrested was a major thrill ride. Also the little train stopping reference to Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was an unexpected surprise. 2: Wrecking Ball Helicopter. This was the scene that made me glad I didn't start with the easiest difficulty (which I chose for my 2nd run to easierly collect challenge tokens and complete all gadgets, mods and suits). You know what I'm talking about. From the quick time events where you are required to press certain buttons for spidey to do the necessary moves (which doesn't happen in the easiest) to the rush to save all the Fisk guys from the Demons, to catching the falling crane, the chase throughout the city and finally taking down a freaking helicopter; the chapter was not only challenging, but it was also a whole lot of fun. HONORABLE MENTION: Yuri & Peter's "Spider-Cop" banter. It's a long running gag throughout the game and when Yuri finally says it even with the voice, it brings a much needed sense of happiness and joy. They all worked their damnedest to make the city safe, and seeing them both enjoy a minute of well deserved fun always gives me a sense of relief as well. 1: The Prison Break. Basically the turning point of the game. The whole scene that starts with the Rikers and continues with supervillains in the Raft, seeing Sinister Six join forces and Spider-Man battling them on the roof, and finally the enter of Doctor Octopus, who later goes on to release Devil's Breath. I can never have enough of that scene.

Hey Evan! You should do a video about Anti-Venom in the sequel! They emphasized Mr. Negative so much, and we don’t know where he ended up, and with Harry becoming Venom and dying of a disease, it sounds all to similar to the comic arc where Eddie Brock is dying of cancer and Mr. Negative’s touch to the symbiote on him actually heals him 👌👌.

For me, Aunt May's death was one of the worst parts of the game. It hit WAY too close to home, and felt totally unnecessary. The whole part about Peter choosing between his personal life and his superhero life was already handled with Otto and the "You do what's best, even when it hurts like hell" line.
They made a terrorist attack scene but they dont want to put the 911 memorial and can't have the Freedom Tower in the game because spiderman can jump of buildings...
