That family throwing a fit about the death penalty in Texas is just ridiculous. They’re going to put a needle in that guy’s arm and his victims had to suffer through hours of torture, humiliation, and sexual assault before they were shot in the head and left to die in the woods. Those poor victims would’ve chosen to die, with a needle in the arm, rather than the way they had to go, so screw him, the world doesn’t need people like that.

I saw a trial where a man was sentenced to a long time and he said your honor that's not fair. I only rob to buy food and shelter and the Judge said you don't have to worry any more in prison you'll get 3 hots and cot😂

There was just an incident in Ohio where a father lined up his three sons, ages 3, 4 and 7 and shot them execution style. One of the boys ran while he was shooting the others, and he hunted him down and dragged him back to the property to kill him. He also shot his wife, but only hit her in the hand, so she got away and managed to call the police. A motorist nearby also called the police. When police arrived, the three boys' bodies were laying in the driveway, and their monster of a father was sitting on the porch, just waiting. It's so disgusting the EVIL that can be done by psychotic humans. It almost makes me wish there was a mental evaluation done before you were allowed to even have kids. So that maybe in time, we could start to clean up the genepool and leave whatever it is that makes a person do something like that behind. Wishful thinking...

Re the infant shaking case, I’ve been told by a nurse that the only thing worse than a baby killed due to being shaken is the life of someone who survived being severely shaken.

Oh, are you referring to Leticia Stauch? She was the woman who killed her 11-year-old step-son, Gannon Stauch. She was actually recently convicted and will be spending the rest of her life in prison.

As an American, I think our penalties aren't enough. In some states, robbery gets a slap on the wrist and child predators only serve 5 years. I am personally a fan of public televised death sentences to make others think twice before doing these crimes.

Not sure of the Texas laws, but in my state if you are party to a crime you catch responsibility for the crime. That is, if he had jumped out when the car-jacking had started (or try to stop it) he would not have gotten the death penalty. Since he rode in the same car, participated in the abduction, it doesn't matter if he pulled the trigger - only that he contributed to it up to that point and didn't stop it or try to stop it. He was responsible for getting himself out and trying to help stop the situation. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution - he was part of the problem and ultimately will die

The wildest case I ever watched was the Darrell Brooks Jr. (39) Waukesha (Wisconsin, USA) Christmas Parade Massacre trial. He chose to go pro se (represent himself) in the trial which can be found on RU-vid. In the end he was found guilty of all 76 charges, including 6 counts of first-degree intentional homicide, 61 counts of recklessly endangering safety, 6 counts of hit & run causing death, 2 counts of bail jumping, and 1 count misdemeanor battery. He was given 6 life sentences plus 762 years.

You know why I have no sympathy for them? Because every single one of them knew about the potential consequences of their crimes and they did it anyway. They knew. Sidennote: I'd be fucking terrified to come at anyone at all. I don't know about the other states, but here in Alaska about 58% of (known) people own a firearm. Texas is a little faster at dealing with their death penalty, but it still takes an average of 18 years to get them through the appeal process.

in prison if the other inmates get to know that a person in jail did something to a child...that person is 100% a ded man if not ded but will face hell in prison.

Kidnapping and armed robbery? Even without killing the victim's, he could have received a life sentence, but likeky with the opportunity for parole at some point in the future.

Here in the US most people in prison for child related crimes are in solitary for the entirety of their sentence because we have a no-kids "policy" here so odds are they would be killed shortly after going to prison. Might be the same for the UK but I know here its well known solution to those who harm kids. Some judges actually enforce a no-solitary ruling knowing they would be killed shortly after going to prison, which we agree with here. So instead of giving someone life where they sit in solitary for years they give them 30/40 years and dont allow solitary, essentially a death sentence but much more bloody and a lot sooner than the law.

Texas doesn't play around when it comes to murder.

My state has the death penalty. But they don’t allow a decade of appeals. Usually executions are carried out within 2 to 4 years. Two guys that escaped the state prison killed a guard. They were executed within eight months.

i can't help but wonder if johnson was trying to get the cops to kill him then and there. with the last one our system is just messed up. some people get harsh sentences for minor things while guys like brock turner get off free because the judge doesn't want to ruin their future. to say nothing of the affluenza case (ethan couch who killed people while drunk driving got off lightly and hasn't learned his lesson yet)

40 years is ridiculous, especially when compared to DUI 's (where people actually died) with sentences as low as 2 years.

I dont blame the first guy. 40 years for robbery that he didn't get the chance to actually do. There are people who kill people and get 15 years, 25 years etc. Women who hire someone to kill their husbands and they get 5-10 years. There has to be some kind of standard. Whats worse killing someone or robbing someone?? It dont make sense in the least. If he gets 40 years then someone who kills someone should get at least double. Just look at number 3 on this list😂 that guy not only committed robbery like the first guy he abducted someone. He got 22 years for that. But the first guy who committed robbery and no kidnapping got 40??
