You’re carefully choosing your videos content.. very logic to upload a video for gifts for the upcoming season. Honestly the main reason make me saying that you’re the No.1 on youtube drone and toys content that you’re logic and got ZERO arrogant compared to the others .. Keep up buddy 👍🏻
I’ve just picked up a dji spark fly more package for £200 gbp. It’s my first drone and I love it. After watching your reviews and seeing all the features of the spark and how easy it was to master I decided to go for one instead of the air 2s and it’s saved me a packet. It’s perfect for what I need to take with me to film my travels. 😎
This waa great. God, we are so spoiled with you and all this information we get. If people still can't make up their minds after these helpful videos then they have a problem. Great job CaptainDrone. Thanks a lot for this. Happy Holidays.
Merci pour toutes tes videos que je regarde depuis la France et avec lesquelles j'apprend pleins de choses .C'est juste la vidéos de choix que j 'attendais
Captain, you always the best. Thanks to you i got the SJRC F11 1080p version. Enjoyed it till a bird strike that crashed n damaged my camera. Thanks for the love always .
Happy Holidays, Cap’n! Always enjoyed your videos over the years from here in the States. Your site could almost be named Droning for Dummies, as informative as you present each topic! Love the Bugs products, so happy to see you’re featuring another!
Nope i don't want to buy a drone (at least not right now). I clicked this video because I always watch your video!!! Greetings Captain Drone from Greece 🇬🇷
The "no fly zone" of the DJIs is a hassle to deal with, especially getting the waiver. I had to do that every time I flew during a forest fire (for good reason). I love small quiet drones over all others. 2.7K is great quality just like you said. Great review.
For your first drone I would recommend building one. It will give you a very good understanding and appreciation of the systems and how they work. You can build a nice one for around $300 using an S500 frame.
Captain Drone that's a great top 5, and I own 3 of the drones you mentioned. I bought they because of your great reviews, and they are every bit as good as you said they were for the money. You have great reviews and I appreciate the hard work you put into them.
To beginners: ALWAYS start with a cheap toy drone and learn to fly without GPS or optical flow. GPS drones are great. But sometimes you have to take over manually if there is a problem. Surely if you can afford $200 for a drone, you can afford a $20 as well. Real skills will also help fly smooth and reduce crashes.
Yep! My very first $100 drone flew away into a lumber yard at the Port of Olympia, Washington, five minutes after I launched it for the first time! Of course it was my own fault. The next time I bought a drone it cost $30, and I still have it. Nowadays I fly more expensive drones (like the DJI Mini 2), but I also have some experience and am not trying to get the drone version of the Darwin Award.
20 dollar Walmart (or Real for our German commentor) drones will only drive you away from the hobby….a gps equipped stabilized drone with brushed motors are the bare minimum…otherwise you’re teaching yourself nothing….because you’ll spend most of your time picking the drone up off the ground…if you can find a 20 drone that flies worth a **** id be surprised…and I’ve been flying for 6 years now….fpv and camera…a 80-100 drone with these features even limited like a Tello is a must
I've had one, much after I learned the basics of flying, and it was a total fucking disaster. No, you don't need a $20 toy drone, starting with stuff like MJX is great. Just don't whine if you crash it, learn to fly better next time. Pain is a better teacher than fascination, you know.
TELLO is my favorite starter drone. I have a DJI Mavic Air but flying the Tello is just SO MUCH FUN!!! ~$100 so super inexpensive and I don't consider it a "toy". It is an incredible learning tool. You cannot go wrong if you're a beginner that wants to learn, fly, and practice your videography. For 720P digital stabilized video and 5MP photos... it looks very good.
No bullshitting, straight away to point, link and model already stated in description. Best youtuber for me. 😀 Also simple info enough to help beginner.
Finally got around to purchasing a drone. It was a toss up between the HS720G and the KF101, decided to save some money and go with the KF101. I think it will meet my needs. I want to inspect my fireplace chimney and the plumbing vent gaskets on my roof. Thank you for your videos as they are simple to understand and quite informative. I will let you know about the wobble return to home when I get proficient with the drone. As being in the US, I have competed my FAA Trust test and finally renewed my AMA license which expired in 2003. Take care and have a great day.
You are really a professional in your field. The video was not only incredibly entertaining, but also absolutely informative. I always enjoy watching you. Mainly because you not only advertise the big brands, but also offer alternatives. Thanks Steve 👍😀
Honestly i cant believe youtube is free, i feel like i should have paid to watch this incredible content. This is exactly what drone beginners need. Like me! THANK YOU!
I would like to thank you Captain Drone! I came here hoping to find my first drone at or around $300 or less ($200-$400 was my range). I've been doing some research for a few days and found (was eyeballing) the mavic mini. Then I saw this video and figured, "oh I'll get the newer SE". Then I watched the whole SE review and was like, "well I guess I'll get the mini 2". Money was of decent concern, but I almost knew coming into this anything around the $0-150~200 mark would probably be a pretty crappy 'toy', and my primary purpose for seeking my introduction to "droning" is to capture awesome video and or pictures; and so I just knew a 'toy' would not make me happy. I did fight myself a little on whether to just go with the SE (for $299) or the mini 2 (for $450). It then looked like an SE with a "fly more" bundle would be somewhere around $400/450, which I noticed was the mini 2 (by itself). Likewise I could add $150 to that and just get a mini 2 fly more, for $599! So ultimately, I think the extra $150 from an SE "fly more", or an extra $300 from just the SE is going to be well worth it! It really sold me that the mini 2 has the 4k camera (vs the SE 2.7k), and I really liked the idea that it uses OcuSync 2.0 for that increased distance and reliability! And I could be mistaken but I believe the video bit rate on the SE is only 40mbit/s, as where the mini 2 has a bit rate up to 100 mbit/s (so it should all around produce significantly better video/photos than the SE)! So while I initially was hoping to find something in the $200-400 range, I think the mini 2 (fly more), being just $200 higher than that - will be a GREAT first (and maybe last?) Drone for me :D and I owe it all to you and these TWO videos of yours! Thanks again!!!!!!!
My first drone was a Bugs 5W. I still have it. It is such a great drone. After than I moved to DJI and now I have an Autel Evo 2 Pro. Bugs drones are perfect as first drones!
I keep going back and forth on which drone will be my first drone. I did buy a forty some dollars Holystone on eBay but it is so limited I don’t count it. I don’t have a brand preference “yet” just a desire to get the best camera drone I can get without sacrificing a virgin in a volcano neither of which is available in Ohio. I think I have convinced myself to start out in the $400-$500 range but that is to be determined. I appreciate your reply and apologize for the long response.
Guys don't forget you can find some really nice used phantom 4, 4 pro for 500 range. I recently found an inspire 1 pro with the X5 camera and a $500 carrying case for $1400. I know most people don't like used stuff but you can find an amazing deal sometimes that just makes more sense
Not saying he is a liar, but Captain Drone seldom give a drone a bad review as he is getting commission for each drone sold. Probably a couple hundred bucks each month. Of course it is his hobby too. Must be for all the trouble. He's not getting rich. But lets say there are reviewers who can be more negative if a drone isn't any good. I certainly would not buy a drone from the Captain's review alone. His reviews are more like presentations. Nothing wrong with that.
Drie Wiel, oh not rich by any means. The reason I can be so honest in all my reviews and not be immature and spend 10 minutes of a 20 minute video complaining about one silly stupid thing is simply because I'm older and more experienced then many drone reviewers and way more established in life. No one dictates to me what to review or what to say, it is all 100% me, hence the reason DJI hates me. As for cash income, I think you may wish to watch this video again where items like that are explained: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZbbHbIP2YWg.html
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Listen. I'm not saying you lying about a drone you are reviewing. Just that almost always you are very positive. For example when you test the follow-me you often cut the video after a couple of seconds. The good bits. But when people who bought it try it themselves they discover it isn't quite as good as they hoped for. Of course to really test a drone you need more time. Time you don't have. I don't blame you for that. Logically you do take more time for expensive drones. I myself would not buy a drone just on your review only. To me they are more like presentations. And very fun to watch. You're a professional photographer and editor. You style is your style. People love your video and for a good reason. But when someone says you are one of the only that can be trusted then I say wait wait, that is not true. There are plenty reviewers who spend a lot more time with a specific drone. And if something is bad then I don't mind if they are being immature and spend 20 minutes on it. As for DJI. Yes that is immature. Obviously they are afraid you do criticize what is not good. Which you do when it is a $1000 drone. But when it is a $100 drone you tend to make it appear better than it actually is. That's my opinion. And that's why I advice people to watch more reviews than just yours.
@@driewielI’m not here to change your opinion of my reviews. Just keep in mind that they are always 100% honest and nothing is hidden. Second thing is I’m more experienced then most in the hobby and therefore I don’t run into issues. Obviously someone less experienced flying the same inexpensive drone I flew will always have issues. If you watch my JAMMAN798 RU-vid guitar channel you’ll find comments like yours. I’ve been playing guitar since the age of 10 so when I review a cheap 400 guitar and play it, it sounds like a thousand dollar guitar. When people who are learning guitar buy it, they complain that I did something magical to make it sound good. I still love ya buddy, you provide good input to the channel but please don’t suggest I do this for the money and therefore I hide the bad stuff.
Well this is the sort of video I needed as I'm looking to upgrade my dji spark I've took your advice and I'm not selling the spark so I'll have a look at the reviews of the drones you have just shown I'm leaning towards the bugs or the dji magic se cracking video as usual keep safe out there and keep up the good work best wishes to you and your family from joff in the UK 🇬🇧
I got the mini with fly more combo for 240ukp. 3 batteries, cherging pack, props, screwdrivers, bag etc. Its hacked with FCC so signal is perfect. Very happy with it, unreal little thing.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 you are very welcome sir. Glad you still making drones video. There's not many of you guys left. God bless brother stay safe out there.
Hope someday i can have one of a great drone to be used for my vidz but due to lack of budget that's why I'm here always watching your vidz because you're totally great on reviewing all those drones.
Had a quick look at your channel and your newest video. I'm curious if the language in the video is Tagalog? Kind of sounds like it, but I'm no expert at identifying languages. I notice a lot of English words being used. I've known a few Filipinos, and keep thinking I should learn Tagalog. It might be fun!
DJI Ryze Tello is good drone for practice and learn to fly.. but keep in mind, Tello is not a GPS drone, range about 100m, height 30m, don't push to its limit... but it is a durable drone... if you learn to fly with Tello, dont be afraid to crash, Tello is build like a tank.. my introduction to drone begins with Tello.. now i fly DJI Mini SE...
I really appreciate this list with the various features you get or miss. The original Mavic Air barely gave you 10 minutes flight time and it was more than double what you're showing here.
that's why i like the look of the mini se fly more kit. it has that really cool battery charger that charges all 3 batteries it comes with at once, giving you a total of 90 mins flight time. yeah your paying an extra $150 for the fly more kit, but seems like a small price to pay to not have to recharge the battery every 30 mins.
As the comment below me try that advice becuase i have a 30$-60$ manual drone without gps and now i know how TO apply Things like a experienced drone pilot.
I would say the F11 4K pro is better than the B16 Pro as I have both. The F11 and F11s share a common problem: WiFi connection to your phone. I have two F11s drones, but none of them can connect to my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Moreover, the F11 only flew about 500m, half of the claimed range in an open area. The B16 Pro uses M RC PRO, which has a limited capability in changing parameters (e.g., exposure, orbit radius, etc.). It’s controller is way too sensitive to any stick operation. The drone will most of the time over-react. It 3-axis stabilized Gimbal sometime is not very good. In particular, when flying left or right, the horizon is tilted in one side. I would agree that the Mini SE is the top pick. I have had one and love it.
About to buy 1st Drone. To me, the F11s pro stands out due to its long range fly distance and 4K Camera for $250. CAPTAIN ! In the last 3 months have you found another Drone around the same price that you like better ?
yeah, but like he said only the past one is under the weight to not require a drone piloting license. i doubt there's too much risk in flying it without a license though as long as you don't fly it anywhere you shouldn't be. but yeah that one looks like the best on the list to me too. for $230 it seems really nice with double the range of the others. i'd like one with a built in screen in the remote that shows the camera image and doesn't require connecting your phone to it for that. not sure if they make any like that, but it's probably expensive if they do.
i would be tempted to get the dji mini 2, pretty sure in his review for it he said the range is up to 8km, which is insane range, but it's like $450 and i'm pretty sure he said your phone will lose range long before that anyhow, which makes that 8km range kind of pointless if that's the case.
You do great work on this Captain Drone - excellent communication skills, top notch presentation and production values - a true professional in this vlogging game and a service to all us drone nerds and wannabees. I've really learned a lot and appreciate your craftsmanship in this channel - TY!
Hey. I had owned the Tello Drone but lost it to the wind. That led me to own the Dji Mavic Mini. I haven’t been able to take it out much lately but still. I enjoyed the video. Thanks for the content and hard work.
Nice list @Captain Drone! Thanks for putting this together. Please can you put together a list of 'Best FPV bundles under $299 (or under $500) for beginners'? I saw you reviewed a lot of bundles.. but not sure how they compare against each other. Your input and a similar list as this would help! Thanks again.. awesome job!
Never knew that Upair 2 costs so less... Only 300$ and is so enormous?! How is that even possible... Pretty impressive. Its definitely a good beginner drone. I hope that DJI Phantom 5 is on the way to get released! KF101 is really good because of the rechargeable controller and 3 axis gimbal! It is also foldable and costs 200? Obviously a good deal with a long flight time. SJRC's F11S is really popular and it should be! A big and really impressive one. It has many features that even bigger companies like DJI haven't yet included to their Minis like Tracking and orbit! Overall, with a flight time of 25 mins+ and a more than enough flight range, it is one of the best quadcoptor to get in under 250! I think that MJXRC is an online company as I can't find it offline in stores. Bugs 16 pro do have many features with an amazing flight time. Under 250 dollars, it is really nice to get a drone with EIS, 3 axis gimbal and gps follow! DJI Mini SE was expected to be in the list... It literally costs 300$? Here, it costs 950$ on amazon!! Which is not a good thing though... It is just like flying a professional-beginner level drone with astonishing stability! DJI Ryze Tello is definitely the best one to get under 100 dollars {costs 200 here :') } with surprising flight time and stability, as far as I know. The camera which is inbuilt in it makes it one of the best drone to have fun with, indoors. Interesting info and video! But the funniest part is at 21:50 for sure...lol
Just ordered the KF101 5G DRONE, price is now 210. but camera has been upgraded to 4k. Delivery is within 3 weeks from china. All systems go Dr. Drone.
Thank you for the information, I wish I would’ve known this a couple days ago before I bought the EXO ranger plus. I’ve seen your other videos, should have listened. Hope the Exo is a good starter.
There's another drone under $100 it's the quadair drone. It Flys good for learning, you can adjust the trim right away and a few other things...and I enjoy your videos.
Hi Steve, Thanks for the great options in drones for those who want to spend their money smart. I really get a good sense of the capabilities of the drones you review and your honesty is appreciated. Sure I would love to spend $300, $400, $500 on a DJI (not that I just have that lying around to throw on a drone). Next thing you know you crash it or lose it. Nightmare! Not to mention to spend $300 for the Mini SE and get one battery, no case and to deal with NFZs seems a bit of a kill joy and limits your flight time when you learning to fly it while trying all the features. So, I am considering the KF101 or the Bugs 16 Pro and I would like your honest opinion on which one you would lean towards? If you can give you opinion why, I would love to hear it. For me the biggest difference is the controllers in that one is rechargeable and the other using batteries. I want to believe the camera is a little better on the Bugs. This being said, I see I can get the Flyhal FX1 (BUGS 16 Pro alternative) for $173 (banggood) right now with 2 batteries which is like a steal. The KF101 with 2 batteries is $213 (banggood). I know the KF101 has an option for the 5Ghz repeater version which could give it more range but of course the price jumps to $265 (banggood) if I am not mistaken. The F11S I am not crazy about as it seems I am getting more for my money with the KF101 and the Bugs although I am sacrificing the range that the F11S provides.
Litchi has now released their app for the Mini SE. This app adds many of the cool features that DJI left out of this model including panoramas, following, waypoints and more.
Could you do a Transmitter standards vs compatible Controllers/Googles in case you're not buying complete kit ( or they offer you different transmitter options like cinelog35) video? FRsky vs TBS, pro and cons? Analog video transmitted is always just PAL/NTSC or another standard? Digital HD there is just one CADDX standard?
I've been scanning the few blocks around my house and so far I can't find a DJI Service Center. Might have overstated the number of these around there, Steve! 🙄🤪😆😁😄🤣😅😂🤔🙄🙄
Amazing list! A year ago, something with a 3 axis gimble would have been a rarity at this price range and will be interesting to see what is in this range next year! I shoot 2.7k with my mini 2 mostly to keep the file sizes a little smaller and I can't tell the difference between that and 4k anyway.
Not looking looking for another drone was curious on your top 5 under 300 bucks , i own the DJI Mini 2 ,so i kind of knew DJI SE was going to pop up on here and by the way yes the best of the best without a dough
