Frozen Chakram is an absolute beast when paired with Brand, especially in a frost damage build. As much as I love the Ornate Chakram and Distorted Experiment, I think your calls in this list are spot-on.
Mechanically, chakrams feel like the most unique weapon, which makes for even more unique gameplay since youll be a magic user, and the magic system is awesome. I was hooked on my first of many playthroughs XD
The magic system in Outward is S tier. One of the reasons its so addicting. Very unique magic that can be combined in cool ways. Chakrams still stand out through all this and are extremely fun to use.
Hi @SheenShots how are you? I love your Outward videos and I never miss a single one. And this inspired me to create a channel like this in Portuguese. We have very little relevant information about Outward and your way of explaining builds and tips was absorbed by me and stimulated me to create my channel. I hope to be as good as you one day.
I am doing good. Hope you are as well. Glad you enjoy the channel and good luck with your own. It takes some time to really get traction, but its definitely worth it. Lots of interaction and feedback that only improves your own gameplay.
If your going to use the Distorted Chakram then you should also use the "Rainbow Hex Steel Saber" as that weapon will trigger every Elemental Hex at once after about 6ish hits and has 1.2 atk spd.
Or you can optionally use the "Blacksmith's Vintage Hammer" or "Strange Rusted Sword" as those both trigger "Elemental Vulnerability" after just 3 hits.
So mana works a bit uniquely in Outward. There is a mechanic called burn which will cause your mana to go to only half. This is similar to how you get stamina burn and health burn. To fix this you can do a few things. Sleeping gets rid of stamina and health burn. However sleeping will cause mana to burn more instead. Using magic will slowly reduce the burn or mana potions get rid of most of it in one go. The easiest solution is take the hex mage skill tree. The breakthrough passive makes burn almost not exist at all.
I personally never liked chakrams in the game. I like the idea and they look great, but it kinda breaks my immersion seeing my character standing around like an idiot, watching his chakram float away while getting pummeled by some enemies. It is easier to commit to the idea that you can't move if you're still connected to the weapon. Also the disciplin buff is just too annoying. I'd rather the chakrams would have been a bit weaker but allowed for some movement. Or a concept where you would send out the chakram, aktivate different patterns and/or call it back before it drains your mana completly, while you otherwise are active in the fight with your main hand. Also I would have hoped for a bit more flexibillity in the chakram concept like a rather weak chakram that doubles as a lexicon or a chakram with the rainbow entchantment. At least a marble version would have been nice.
Vigilante chakram actually has two protection, not barrier. It also has the highest impact of any chakram in the game! It also has a unique enchant that adds plague with 20% build up.
Interesting that you threw a bone to the forged glass chakram. Forged glass weapons usually aren't anyone's favourite, but they have among the highest damage and impact in their categories. Also interesting that the Horror weapon didn't make the list for the first time, fair enough. I think the little eye is kinda cute tho
Forged glass weapons are kind of odd. Basically just physical damage with a small amount of barrier. Always usable but never optimal. The forged glass chakram on the other hand feels quite nice. Also very pretty looking item. Horror chakram does look interesting I will give you that lol
I did notice it had extremely high impact. I chose the glass version because I like the sleek look and it had more damage. But 2 protection from vigilante is honestly a lot better than 2 barrier. I don't often get barrier to do much compared to protection.
I usually like to have a lot of mana reduction. So Gold lich stuff mixed with any of the wide hats is pretty good. All things considered I think White arcane is the best as it has both mana reduction and cooldown. And cooldown seems to make chakrams a lot more powerful.
I knew that the Frozen Chakram would be number 1, the weapon is just too good in pretty much everything a chakram can do. It pairs really well with Brand and the frost sigil, you'll become the freezing tundra yourself.
