I'm glad that my African American brothers and sisters are finding a better life outside of the United States of America. Being that the country of Mexico is below the US, it is easy for African Americans to travel back to the US and visit family and friends. Finally, thank you Ms. Shida for presenting our people in a positive and discussing our daily struggles through life.

I spent 6 months of 2019 traveling throughout Mexico and lived in all of these cities except for PDC. There really is nothing like Mexico City (especially during Dia de los Muertos) & Merida was truly the hottest place I’ve ever been in my life. I’m back in the states now and really miss the fully “free” feeling I had as a Black American south of the border. Can’t wait to get back to Mexico permanently and I love seeing more and more of us making our way down there. One of the highlights of my trip was being up in Guanajuato during the Festival de Cervantes and some of my Afro-Mexican brothers from the state of Guerrero trying to pull me into their Danza de los Diablos dance because they thought I was part of the squad. So much love! It’s a special place that helped me heal. Viva Mexico!

As a Londoner born and raised, I would live in Mexico City. I spent 3 nights and 4 days there in July after 1 night in Cancun and 8 nights in Xcaret. I loved the holiday vibe but not the mosquitos in the Playa del Carmen area and the taxi situation. Mexico City would be an easy transition for me and I definitely will be back for a longer period of time. @Roshida
@Roshida Год назад
I understand how you got to part of your comment - but it’s not accurate for people who are considering living here. The exact borders of CDMX hold about 9 mill, the greater Mexico City area (which is what I’m talking about in this video and everybody who lives here is referring to when they talk about the city) is over 21 million. The whole country is currently around 129 million. This is relevant because a lot of people who move here will live outside the actual city limits, but no one really knows because few people know where the city limits are. In a lot of places you’re in the city on one block and not in the city on the next block. That’s why we talk about the metro area. Trust that I did the research before I made the video 💛
@arnulfoalvarez1743

Having spent time in all of these cities as a dark-skinned black guy who speaks Spanish, and don't wear my passport on my face, thus no one assume that I'm American nor that I have a US passport, I'll tell you in earnest that these cities are all tourist cities, and the costs and laws will be more restrictive than elsewhere in Mexico. I personally do not like large cities nor city life, and think that the CDMX is the worst city that I've ever stepped foot in, followed closely by NYC and Riga. This is exclusively because of the people, in each city. I loathe ever having to spend time nor pass through any of these places. So, I would recommend against spending time and money in Mexico City, Playa del Carmen, Merida, and Puerto Vallarta. I admit that Puerto Vallarta is cheaper and safer than almost every other city in Mexico, and is probably the safest place you'll ever be in the country, with maybe the exception of Nueva Vallarta. Guadalajara is my favorite city in Mexico, but it's also quite dangerous. In general, everything imaginable is available, the women are gorgeous, the people treat you well, but you can just as easily get mugged the next block down the street. Think Philly upside down, and it gets really hard at times to believe that you're not in Philly. Interestingly, I'm not a huge fan of Philly, but do respect it. If you're of the west African diaspora from anywhere near Florida, southern Texas, Louisianna, or the West Indies, here are a few suggestions: Puerto Escondido, Oax., Puerto Veracruz, Ver., Oaxaca City, Oax., Leon, Gto., Ciudad de Carmen, Tab. I'm originally from Montego Bay, and have always lived near, never in, major nor medium sized cities. The places I listed give you all the consumer things you'd ever want, and has the same or a similar climate to that of Cornwall County. The people also closely resemble people from there as well, esp. in body )(

This is soooo helpful "yard-man", smile. Thank you for taking the time to share this, since my guy meets your description. If CDMX is Philly, but in spanish, that's important to know. Checking the other cities for sure, although Shida did a nice job with her 5.

@@madewithrealdiamonds Worse than NYC is a strong statement, and Philly shootings are now next level, so moving on. Climate and draught are concerns, so Guerrero and Oaxaca are best bets in Mexico. Surprised more people aren't paying attention to the water situations.
