Ahhhh so my fungia is actually supposed to move - I am always trying to put shells and stuff around it to hem it in. I was told at the store (Fauna Marin) to put a shell or rubble under it to help keep pests away from its base that it can suffer from in the sand. I also thought a scoly prefers low flow and light so I keep my button in a cave - the color has definitely got better. Thanks Than ;)

I would say similar to xenia, green star polyps are good invasive coral to have on an island on the sandbed. The only issues being they love high flow which can disturb sand, and spaghetti worms bother them 😒

Normally I would throw the coral away as it was completely bare and it had turned a chalky white...However because of the peanut worm I decided to leave it be... Somehow within 3 months the tissue had all grown back and it now looks better than ever 8 months later

They get very big for rockwork and also have a flat botton and are beautiful! and colorful! I also thought I heard you say b4 that plates were hard to keep! I have lost about 5 of them! Most recently a gorgeous tye dye looking body with long tentacles with blue tips! I scored it for 50 bucks and I know it was worth at least 400! It was about 5 inches in diameter as well!

I'm very new to this so bare with me. So I have a rainbow plate coral and I put it on the substrate when I got it. Everything looked OK and not knowing and better I moved it to a pretty thin and very flat live rock that I just got. I'd say it's about 1/2" thick so it's not to high off the floor. Well since I've done that, maybe 2 days. It has really started looking amazing. It's so much more open and "flowly" than before. It even looks a little bigger. Any idea why? My tank is only 25 gal and I have an AI light. LMK, if you need anymore info to figure this out or whatever. Thanks Edit: now that I think of it it's probably because it's more like the rocky substrate you described in the video. idk

Suv Porridge I didn't dip mine - But about the worst hitchhiker on a dendro would be red planaria or some form of LPS-Flatworm (they aren't too bad and any wrasse would likely eat them) As for other corals not to dip: I wouldn't dip any Acropora echinata, carduus, suharsonoi etc what are often referred to as "deep sea acros". I lost every echinata i dipped. (coral rx) *disclaimer* I don't generally advocate "not dipping corals" but those species i think can't handle a dip. Manually remove any pests and QT them just to be sure no pests are on them :)
