My takeaway? Don't get drunk, don't get mad, don't fall in love, don't look like you have money and don't be stupid. The first time I went to a place with bar girls / gogo dancers, I was stupid, and I fell in love. Fortunately, I had done my homework, I managed to keep my wits about me enough to tell her that I was out of money, and she vanished on me. After that first time, I was never that stupid again. I think every guy who has gone his whole life with no female attention will be completely unprepared for that first time. It's something you've got to experience and get through, and hopefully, nothing really bad happens to you.

Same dangers that have always been there (although some seem to be happening more often). Pattaya has changed immensely! My first trip there was in 1996, and it was much safer back then, although even back then, you still had to use common sense. Glad you posted this video, as the scenarios you talked about should be "common sense", are sadly ignored and people find themselves in trouble.

Lets be honest. 99% of dangerous situations are only able to be dangerous because of the victims own stupidity. The perpetrator of a crime almost always is taking advantage of a situation that the victims allow. It's not victim blaming; it's just a fact. Keep your wits about you, and maintain a healthy level of situational awareness and paranoia.

I can't think of one place in the world that I've been where its a good idea to get blackout drunk and something bad doesn't happen to you. More often than not, you're ok in the US, UK and from what I've heard, France and Australia. I'd watch my drinks in Pattaya if it gets out of your sight, don't finish it. I don't trust strangers of any gender, ANYWHERE

That’s nothing a British guy I knew in Cambodia went to prison for murder but he didn’t actually do it, the person died from an overdose. He still got 10 years though. It’s a long story but I could have been implicated too, fortunately I had enough judgement to not become involved

He get set up and went to jail, I presume the setup was because they wanted to extort money from him

Always leave your ATM-card in the safetybox, bring the cash you need for the night, never leave your drink when you have to go pi, somebody could drop some drug in your drink, and dont buy that shit when you hear handsome man, beacuse than you transform to a ATM-machine if you have not been around before in your life, dont walk around by yourself if you are a beginner, and try to go home alone to your hotel if something feels weird!
