I'm watching this like I watch horror movies through my fingers while yelling at my screen;please don't flat please don't flat please don't flat. Amazing job
Having the telemetry on the screen shows just how fast you ride!! Wow, I go half to one-third that speed. And your heart rate stays 145 - 160, you are a machine.
simply incredible to watch someone navigate trails like this at these speeds and sustained energy output. YOU ROCK Macky! What a year of racing both of you have had; thanks as always for bringing us all along for the ride!
There will be some who will see lots of freewheeling and think that it wasn’t that hard. They are the ones who haven’t done this sort of course or non stop duration on an XC bike. Your upper body and quads would have had quite a beating. Well done both of you because of course Syd had to suffer for longer!!!! Love the channel.
You never cease to amaze this Old Buzzard. You got so close to the edge on the arroyo a couple times, on sketchy turns, that I had to put my hands over my eyes.
Absolutely tried to stay focused the whole ride and just could not do it ! I was afraid to blink. Incredible skill at speed . Love the traction sound when braking ! Thanks so much !😎
Wow! What a run! You crushed it! I needed a Snickers bar halfway through your run. And looked away when you going through the middle of two trees and the gate. You are incredible! I can’t wait to see Syd’s run.
My last ride down that trail was on a Fezzari Timp Peak, man was I glad to have a motor on those few climbs! I couldn't imagine doing that ride race pace non stop. Congrats to an amazing finish!
Great to watch this full run, I can now see where Keegan probably (uphill after the bridge) put some time into you, not on the downhill though. Slow in fast out, I saw only fast in & fast out 😎. Brilliant riding skills Macky at those speeds. It must be so difficult to decide what to leave in or out of your videos when looking at that run, entertainment all the way, love it.
Congrats on a great race to both of you! I really wish you'd consider racing one of the Lifetime Grand Prix races. Maybe the long gravel races like Unbound don't play to your strengths. But I bet you'd love Leadville! I sure would love to see you do it. You could probably get a few weeks of videos out of that race!
pretty sure I could run that course..in about 5 hours... if i were to raise my heart rate that high I'm pretty sure my heart would explode..or at least some important arteries.. Showing the full pull reveals the brilliance of what you do...Bravo !!
The fact that you are able to set that fast of a pace on those tires underscores just how talented of a rider you are regardless of conditions and bike setup. I need to improve my cornering skills 😂.
Great job Macky! You make it look so easy. I bet there are a lot of photos of you out there from the people on the side of the track taking them. Do you ever get photos sent to you? If so, you should do a collage of them.
I was waiting for the steam train whistle as you crest the climb, toot toot. I'm actually surprised how few race marshals with radios there were. If someone crashed at some of those points they would or could end up seriously hurt and no one to assist or call in for help. I suppose they just send in the recovery team to collect the bodys after.
Wow from a coaching or performance review perspective having this video with your stats much be huge. Do the trails change from year to year? Also I’d be it will be so helpful preparing for next year.
Did you set up 2-by shifting? I saw a front D shifter. What bike computer did you use? Anyway, I really enjoy watching the whole vid. You make me sit on the edge of my seat at the part where we can see the edge of the cliff! That's terrifying but you ride it like its nothing. Good job!
Yeah, that's the dropper/lockout on the left side. We've been trying out the iGS800 cycling computer. Been pretty pleased with it so far and the battery life is incredible! (If you're in the market, there's a discount code in the video description)
That’s really cool how you display your data on the video. I have the Garmin Edge 840 and XC Rally pedals. Can you share the link so I can add to my video’s , or tell me the name of the APP?
dude you're a machine, i dont think your tyre choice was much of a detriment for like 95% of that trail, a few rough sections could be tyre shredders but still, absolutely flying.
It's a cool event. I just really think that, it wouldn't be a bad idea if riders were at least allowed to wear (some) body armour for the DH. Also, would you really be loosing that much time on the XC day, if you had at least a 4 pot brake on the front? It's only what, about 100g difference between XT 2 and 4 pot brakes???
What's going on with your speed senor? I tried an iGPSORTS sensor once and it was terrible. Is that what you're using or are you going just by GPS for speed?
@@OGMTB The road part you are mentioning is the original Butcher Ranch Trail (now called Butcher Meadow 4wd/OHV Road since the Butcher Ranch Trail single track was built about 10 years ago), and it was the traditional starting point of the downhill course from the early days of the race, until they moved the start of the DH to the top of Sunrise in 2007 (Sunrise was built in 2006). The DH race has never been run down the Butcher Ranch single track. If you watch any of Syd and Macky's videos from previous years races you'll see exactly the same course as this one. I think the fact that a newer trail was given the name of an old/preexisting trail, and then the old trail was renamed something similar is unnecessarily confusing.
