Propagation is my favorite way to grow my plant collection for absolutely free... and through trial and error, I've found that some plants are easier to propagate than others. With that in mind, I've put together a list of my TOP 5 EASIEST PLANTS To PROPAGATE! In this video I focus on asexual propagation, which means using cuttings or leaves to create whole new plants (as opposed to corms or seeds). While I can't say that there are "no-fail" propagations, these plants seems to have the best success rate! Not only that, but many of them can be easily found on the ground at garden centers to grow your plant collection COMPLETELY FREE.
What are your favorite plants to propagate? Have you found some that work better than others? Share in the comments!

I love propagation too!😍. I have propagated trees by permission of the nursery owners they consider weeds. I have propagated all kinds of maple trees from Japanese kind to giant sugar, and many kinds of evergreens and star junipers. Even broken fruit tree branches. Sometimes I buy the tree or plant to be able to propagate, usually in the discount area. I once landscape a full back yard doing this. Only a few rare type trees I had to buy but only buy the smallest ones availible. I feel very encouraged by you. I always got permission and have never been turned away.

This is such a great story, I always love to hear about how others use propagation to landscape their gardens. It's really such a satisfying practice, and glad to hear that your nursery is very encouraging of it.

Wow, this is amazing. Some of the things I knew like you're own plants, but the other ones were fantastic. I will definitely be starting this and starting with my husband who is always looking to buy more plants n his tastes leans towards the expensive. He does the indoor plants n I take care of our vegetables, fruit n herb balcony garden.

Very interesting and informative channel and the host is a natural speaker. It's important to note the you are in Santa Barbara, CA with options to grow plants outdoors all year long. The northeast US watchers of the channel grow things called "house plants" that need to be kept inside to thrive for much of the year.

Hi, I just recently found you and love watching your videos. We could be sisters from another mister because we think just alike when it comes to finding free plants. My question is how to propagate a giant split leaf philodendrun. The plant was in our yard when we moved here 30 yrs ago and is quite overgrown. I have a friend who would like to start a plant from it but I don't see nodes and I'm thinking one of the plants would have to be dug up, which I'm fine with as it needs to be cut back. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thanks, June

I kinda want a cactus like #1 but don't water plants enough- 1x wk is as much as i have been able to remember this far I have kept an African violet Live for about 4 or 5 yr and an aloe plant alive maybe 2 yr now... I'm lucky though bc my aloe plant looks a bit tan at times on the edges of some of her leaves😮

Scindapsus are crazy... 😢 Mine was growing well. Then I try to cut it and propagate. Well it's just not taking root and the leaves are small. I used tap waters and place it in a sunny area..idk..I gave up. I put them in soil they're still living but not doing much

I have found that for my scindapsus varieties the best way to propagate them is in sphagnum moss. I use moss in ziploc bags and hang them on the side of my refrigerator with magnets.

Succulents are the very easiest to propagate. You can propagate most others using cuttings and rooting hormone.

Are succulents pet safe
@FreePlantsForever
@FreePlantsForever Год назад
Many are! Most succulents that have a rosette shape, like Aeonium, Echeveria, Haworthia, Graptoveria & Sedum are pet-friendly. You should avoid Jade plant though. I'm actually just about to publish a video all about pet-safe plants.
