First elk hunt at 41 years old, Colorado or bust! Taking two weeks off of work and hope to do a couple days of ground scouting, from my e-scouted areas, before start of the season.
I live here in Colorado. Waiting for draw results in a couple weeks. Colorado gets over crowded every year by out of state hunters but they're out there. Good luck
My son and I are doing our very first elk hunt in northern Oregon this September. Super excitedn no real idea of what we are doing but giving it hell non the less! Love watching your videos, they are very helpfull. Hoping we get on some elk but if not we will enjoy the time together just the same!
Dude, your advice speaks to me. More and more I'm recognizing things I can fine tune. Really appreciate it! Good luck bro, Sept tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always have a diaphragm In my mouth and I can’t tell you how much that is a game changer! To always be ready just this season I’ve used it when I least expected it! And I also learned the hard way on being married to a location, definitely going to be scouting multiple locations for extended archery! Thanks for the video boys!
Number 1 is one I can relate to I started hunting North Idaho in the mid 70s but over the years it changed due to ATVs and other pressures so i became a nomadic hunter hunting all over Idaho next year going to Colorado too for my 60th B day .. great video and tips👊🏻
North Idaho this year first time bow hunting elk and I’m so stoked. Good advice and I’ll Definatley keep a diaphragm in my mouth. Never thought of that. Thank you
Try using a bark or nervous grunt instead of a cow call to stop an elk (per Elk Nut's advice). Its amazing. With a cow call, they might take another step or two. When barking they stop dead in their tracks, immediately.
Some dope tips bro! Especially no. 5. Totally agree with the mouth call. Me and a buddy are headed to Idaho (from AZ) for our first out of state hunt. We’re doing a true backpacking hunt so I’m diggin’ the Kifaru pack video as well. Thanks for the good info!!👊🏻
I have always struggled with reed calls. They always make me gag no matter how much I try and work past it. I know they can be a big asset, any suggestions?
Dude . Yesterday in Oregon. I was dropping in a canyon after a bull I spotted . While doing so I got lit up with my first bugle . 100 yards out . I responded with a cow call . 🤦🏻♂️ he had cows . They moved off . I realize now I should of hit him with a bugle . Next week . Learning experience
@@MadGunny Are there more elk in Idaho? I've heard that Idaho manages big game better than Washington does. Been looking at moving to Idaho, that might be a bigger reason to.
Lol I had a call in my mouth when my bull came in to the caller. Forgot to use it in my excitement. Bad shot but the bull only went 88 yards and crashed. Rookie mistake by a rookie.
