My top 5 favorite episodes of supernatural. Spoilers for Season 15. Check out my ko-fi page at ko-fi.com/bobwess ! You can get a preview of the Destiel Deep Dive Title Cards! Thanks guys!
All your pics are amazing including your reasons for them. Can't help but want to write down my top five, so gunna try that. 1) Lazarus Rising (They didn't know it at the time, but it was the shattered glass and lightbulbs heard around the world) 2) Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets (Amazing Episode, + my favorite Dean and Cas 'argument' scenes. Also the talk of 'nephilim' then verses not long after as a contrast was amazing) 3) Tombstone (I sob at the opening every damn time, and I cry for Jack so much in the ep as well, plus it's hilarious) 4) Changing Channels (It's so damn meta, but I've always adored the way they used it perfectly to shift Gabriel's importance) 5) Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo (Introduction of the first character that represented the two largest parts of the fandom, LGBTQIA+ people and woman, and she was played just as important as the boys even though they just met her.)
Hey, one bisexual to another: Thanks for creating. I had lost my passion for spn a while ago and am only now uncovering what the show meant to me and why it did. So thanks
This is a task I still kinda can’t bring myself to do. Every time I try, I just start listing too many as favorites. One that I always return to though, is What is and What Should Never Be from season 2. The detail in Jensen’s acting throughout that episode brings me to tears every time.
This took me two days and at least one solid hour of me being on the fence and debating out loud to my husband as he slowly passed away from boredom and confusion.
If you want a nuanced novel-length rewrite of Lebanon plus Destiel, Broken Road by thegeminisage on AO3 is currently updating and should be finished in a few weeks. This isn't paid product placement I just think it's a bop
on the same note as Sam not noticing all the food Sully made for him, i walked into the office at work cuz i was told there was cake...saw balloons...and just..."who's birthday is it?". we were in a specific person's office. got a huge "are you shitting me" look from one of my coworkers. different note, the episode where Charlie says goodbye to her mom made sob so much.
Just My Imagination is such an underrated episode. It’s one of those very rare, late seasons Sam-Centric episode that we didn’t get enough of. I loved hearing your thoughts and I always look forward to your videos!
Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favs. I love love love the scene where Sam is playing with the fireworks in slow motion and Knocking on Heaven’s Door is playing in the background… Heart wrenching…❤
So happy to see Ghostbusters getting some love!! Most people don't seem to like the episode or those characters much, but personally I really enjoy any episode where you can see the contrast between the boys' fantastical lives and normal people facing very real, normal people problems. No surprises when I say that I really liked The Gamblers, too - maybe not enough to make it a favorite, but the whole concept of a magic pool hall screams Neil Gaiman to me and I'm a big Gaiman fan. My runner-ups would have to include Changing Channels and the Scooby-Doo crossover (which I fully expected to be a "meh", but ended up being exciting and fun and kind of sad too). Other than that, this list is basically spot on for me. As much as I like the story, I always prefer episodes that step away from the monsters and the Big Chess Game of Destiny for a sec and focus more on the characters themselves. And Baby is a cinematic masterpiece.
Loved hearing your perspective on Just My Imagination. I feel like it gets overlooked as a silly note when we actually get some great brother content. Also glad Everybody Hates Hitler made it to hon. mentions. The dynamic between Aaron and his golem is such a fun and compelling friendship(?) that I wish we’d gotten to see more of.
All of those were not episodes I would have thought of in my top five, but they were amazing episodes. Personally, Swan Song holds a special place in my heart as my favorite episode.
I REALLY love the man who would be king it really shows how dean and cas' relationship has developed and it started making think differently about the villains of the story.
Wow! I wouldn't have chosen any of those episodes as my favorites, but it was so interesting to hear you talk about what you enjoyed about them! John coming back in Lebanon didn't do it for me at all, but I think I owe that to my personal experience. It felt like it has taken the show as well as Sam and Dean years to acknowledge the trauma John put his sons through and they tried to give him a thirty-minute-redemption arc. But then again, it probably just hits too close to home and I still enjoyed the episode! My favorite episodes would have to be very cas-centric or funny (or both), so I love The End, Lazarus Rising, The Man Who Would Be King, Changing Channels etc.
It's really cool hearing your opinions on this stuff and how they diverge from mine!! Like we have a lot of the same favorite episodes but while you think Lebanon is a masterpiece I really HATE that ep 😂😂😂 that's probably because I never really got to like John (I hate him a fair but actually haha). It's nice hearing your thoughts about the ep anyway you know, your videos are great can't wait for the next one ^^
Oh I hate the ever living SHIT out of John. He is an abusive prick. But the emotions are choice. And hit pretty close to home. But I'm glad you enjoyed!
@@BobWessSPN Hahaha good to know you also hate him 😂 and yeah I get what you mean, especially after reading this and your thoughts on the video I can see the ep in a different light ^^ I still don't think I'd enjoy it if I rewatched but it's nice to see your point of view hahahaha idk I guess even though I thought most of what happened was in character the whole time there was a part of me cringing because it felt like John apologism anyway
Thinking about it now I don't think (nor do I remember well enough to judge because I never rewatched it) that it's a bad episode, I just couldn't find it in myself to enjoy it 😂
Yay another Just My Imagination fan! I'm also a big fan of what I call the "young Sam lore" episodes lol. After School Special is my other fave. I like Last Holiday, just wish Cas had been in the episode. It would've been cute to see him included in the domestic family bonding. I get why he wasn't in Lebanon, but he should've been in such a Jack centric family ep. And DEATH'S DOOR! Always guaranteed tears. ❤
The compilation at end... I was laughing so hard - Just about to get into Season 2 of the re-watch and so far 1x19 'Provenance' is a stand out but there are so many good episodes!
From less serious ones, I have a huge sentiment for a ScoobyDoo crossover. From more serious ones, The Raptre from s15 when Cas finally is done with Dean's shit. Just my imagination would be somewhere in between serious and not-so, I have to agree with this choice :). Not sure if these are my actual favorites, I went through the series only once :D
listen i hate john, but when he hears mary’s voice and breaks down it killed me. also i will never ever ever get over him never apologizing to dean, i will die mad about it.
I think my favorite, just out of your five, is Baby, and that maybeee is in my top 20 (your honorable mentions have a lot of my faves!). But regardless of our differences in opinion, I loved this video for *your* explanations and reasoning!
I hated Lebanon, Cas was in only 5 minutes of it, wayyyyy too much screentime was given to teenagers stealing the Impala, and we get one conversation between Sam and Dear Ole Dad but none between Dean and Dear Old Dad? Then all of a sudden, "K good to see ya, Daddio. GTFO."
Really loved your honorable mentions. So much so, that I will give you a pass on including Lebanon in your top 5. I can completely understand how it made it there, especially since you didn’t know ahead of time that it was John’s return. For me personally, I just can’t stand that Dean did not get a meaningful heart to heart about their childhood with John. I understand the writers chose for Dean to again shove down his anger because he really wanted his family back together more. But it was just painful for me to watch Dean make nice. The scene you showed with Sam & John was stellar.
Great list :) i also really liked this episode a lot 😍 for me one of the absolut best episodes though is 2x20 what is and what should never be, its just amazing in every way, the idea, the acting, the conversation, everythings just so incredibly good, i always tear up only thinking and talking about it.
So interesting to see your choices. I hated Lebanon. It felt like a last ditch effort to redeem John & it didn't address the full extent of the harm he'd caused them. I also didn't believe that him coming back would actually be the thing Dean wanted most in that moment. Just meh...
Your thoughts on just my imagination has made it one of my favorites now I always thought Dean was just being a big brother and ragging on Sam for having a imaginary friend and other weird thing with Sam but Dean not being able to handle someone else caring for Sam b/c that's his job/part if his identity and shows maybe he wasn't always good at it 🤔😘👌🏿
The 300 eposide i never liked it.. John winchester wasone the worse father i have ever seen on tv.. So to see dean and sam forgave him was a punch to my face 😑
