Heart will always be my favorite episode, it just hits like a damn train, it's a perfect tragedy, -> Sam falling in love again and opening up, Madison revealing as a werewolf puts him in hopeful despair, they supposedly win against all odds and are happily ever after, only to reveal that it was all for nothing, and he has to kill her and be even more traumatized and closed off then before. A complete full cycle of emotional development in just a single episode, on top of the shock value, such a masterpiece!

You should acknowledge the fact that if supernatural wasn't renewed for 6 the entire second half of s5 would have changed because ethe renewal happend earlier in s5
Omg in heart when it goes silent you hear the gunshot and Dean jumps just a little. That sound was Sam's life being over and that door slammed shut. It was like Dean felt Sam losing the last tether to humanity. Omg gets me everytime. My favorite of all time and all 15 is changing channels tho. 100% most fun episode ever put on screen 😅 No rest for the wicked is my favorite season ending. I feel like t that 1 choice made such an impact on the rest of the show. I don't think it'd be the same show -at all- you expect that they're gonna fix it in the 11th hour and when they don't and Dean gets taken. Damn. Swan song Isn't a favorite of mine, not really, but I'll be dammed if I'm not in a sobbing mess by the end of it everytime. Top tier list keep up the good work 😸✌🏻 🦇🧡🦇

I agree with almost every episode here (order would be different), aside from After School Special and Dark Side of the Moon (however I do understand your reasoning). Changing channels gotta be my all time fave, not least because of the tonal shift from TV land to the Gabriel reveal; all actors were on their A game in that episode and I love it. I love Faith and Houses of the Holy for how they explore Sam and Dean's different outlooks on faith (and function perfectly as set ups for their reactions to the later revelation of the existence of angels). But, I still do generally prefer the more ridiculous episodes, including Yellow Fever, Tall Tales, Monster Movie, Wishful Thinking, Bad Day at Black Rock, and Bedtime Stories.
I gotta be honest (even if my neck is at stake); "Swan Song" would not be in my top 10. I don't even particularly like the episode, if for no other reason then Sam reclaiming his body and basically defeating the bad guy with the power of "will," "human spirit, " or what have you from an otherwise unstoppable entity is such an unbelievable and oh so common trope in the media I tended to experience at the time, that being video games and Shonen anime. I even upon first watch was *hoping* that would not be what happens... but alas, it was. And I particularly think it's one of the worse executions of that trope I have seen, which doesn't help. As such, had the series ended there, it would have been a huge disappointment on my end. And the even bigger bombshell: not a big fan of season 5 in general. And it's not because I started with later seasons as you might expect; no, in reality I watched each season on DVD following their release, and the season just felt too slow and uneventful for one that had been hyping up Lucifer for two seasons prior.
