Hi Brian, I'm still around. Prepped and bugged out in Texas now. Have my favorite shrades, machetes, beans, bullets, and Bible. I'm prepped. Been healthy and hope you have too. God Bless. Love your channel and you a lot. God speed brother
Hi Brian, I appreciate your humility to tell your story of where you came from and those who have helped you on your journey. I was also happy to hear that you're a praying man! Great set of favorite knives. The only real Emerson I have is the Super Karambit, which is an excellent knife, but almost exclusively for self-defense. I've never used it and hope I never need to! I also love some of the big TOPS knives - my favorite big one is the chopping beast: El Chete! 😎👍
Great review of your favorites! My top #3 are #1 WINKLER belt knife Black canvas laminate #2 TOOR field 2.0 Battleship grey w/walnut dynamic fluting #3 TOOR darter in Ranger Green Have a great day !!!
Hey SOP, I enjoyed your vid. I like big knives also some of which are the Junglas, The Tops Steel Eagle, and a new pocket folder the Cold Steel 4Max Scout. The Scout provides you with a fixed blade in a folder for carrying to church.
Many thanks for an excellent video! Love your scene-stealing assistant Kuma - what a friendly and beautiful pup! I have had the Gerber for about as long as you have yours...it was a gift from my late father...it is all that you say it is...I enjoyed your reviews on the Gerber as very few people have chosen to review them...Thanks!!
I remember you telling us about your original tops Tahoma getting stolen. That's so unfortunate man. I do remember you saying Chris Tanner sent you that. But if I didn't know that, the hockey stick tape would have given it away :p
G'day Brian, cool 5 there mate, I was betting on your Gerber Gator to make the cut, pardon the pun. Although the big fellas can do so much work, its only natural to love 'em. Cheers Duke.
I've got the smaller SCHF55 Griffin Design and love it too. With a 4" 1095 3/16" thick blade its a little beast. Just need to add some grip tape to the grivory scales. Would be interested to hear why Griffin has parted ways with Schrade.
Awesome collection brother 🔪.....the TOPS Tahoma is also my fav, I used it on a camping trip in 2022 and it did everything I needed it too. I also keep a Victorinox Alox multitool in the sheath.... Thanks for your great videos ❤
I love your rambling stories accompanied by your knife reviews. Matter of fact, they go together. I like Esse's and have 3 of them and I just might have to add a Junglass.
Totally agree!! I finally got smart and got a Tahoma with the double edge. It’s flipping awesome. I also got the leather sheath from Andy’s website and it is an amazing combination. Still gotta get that Skrama though.
Best part of this video is "I've had this knife since my boy was in cub-scouts (now 34)". So cool. I have the first nice knife that I bought the day I turned 18. I am 44 now, it still sits on my night stand, and gets carried once in a while. All stainless, fully serrated, Spyderco Police model. Sent back to Spyderco twice for a full serration re-grind. :)
Brian, if my memory serves me correctly, the double edge is heat treated on all of the Tahoma Field Knives and some aren't sharpened so they can be sold in states that don't allow double edge knives. So you should be able the use something like a worksharp and put a nice even grind on the one you have. Just a suggestion.
Hey, have you ever used a TOPS Armageddon? That is my number one favorite knife of all time. I’ve always wanted to challenge it with the Junglass, but just can’t afford to get one right now. Leo ground down the finger choil on my Armageddon and that made it 200 times more comfortable to wield. 😎 As for your all time favorite ... Yep, the Tahoma Field Knife is (imho) absolutely the best all-around “survival/wilderness” tool that you can carry. I have three of them. I got Leo to put serrations on the top edge of my second one. When I asked Andy about the serrations (which I normally don’t like), he told me that if he had serrations on his Tahoma, that’s where he would put them. A fantastic knife indeed. 👍🏻👍🏻 🇺🇸
As an owner of the Esee Junglas, I strongly suggest you cover the blade in a coat of oil (Mobil-1 synthetic for me), when sheathed, on the blade after first use. A great blade that's a compromise between a machete and a combat knife...well worth the money.
my absolute fave that I have is the Esee Junglass. That is one awesome knife. It may not be a small bushcraft knife, a hatchet, or a big machete, but it hits that sweet spot in between. May not be quite as good as those items at their designated tasks, but it does them all well enough. Great one tool option. I attached a survival kit to mine and carry it horizontally on a beachin tactical baldric lite. Thanks for the video brother. I always enjoy sharp saturday. God bless
I like these “favorite knives” videos. They’re a great way to see who has similar styles and thoughts. I liked your selections. The only folder that I really really like is the CS Pocket Bushman. Pretty much the only folder that I haven’t broken.
Thats ur intro music Brian... Rambling Man!!!!!!! Been one of ur first subs back when u were a Shrade Man!! I got a bunch of em cause of it and still like em a lot. Thanks for you n your channel keep em coming!!!!!
A couple of years ago, my dear Nephew gifted me a Spyderco Chaparral pocket knife, with my initials engraved on the blade. Super sharp, it is my EDC knife, and have used it thousands of times for everything. That, and my Randall are my most treasured knives...
Years ago, I came across Inner Bark Outdoors and this channel almost back to back. Andy's a great guy with a lot of knowledge to offer. I was wondering if you had to close between the Junglas and the Terava Skarama which would you pick? Anyway, great video as always.
First time viewer here, enjoyed it very much. Judging by the age of your son I'm guessing you and I are about the same age. I've been intrigued by knives since I was a kid, still am in fact. Been making hand forged knives and traditional longbows for 25 years. Still love looking at production knives, and yes, I love big knives also. I had a similar theft incident many years ago, only the backpack was hanging in my garage and had my absolute favorite folding knife in it, a big, beautiful two bladed Boker, and a field saw. Forgot to close the garage door one time and it was gone. I really hate thieves, and I felt your pain. Glad they missed the tools. Take care!
Bryan, These my favourite videos are always fun to watch. Nice choice for favourite knives. As much as I like my Buck 112, I’m getting into carrying a fixed blade. In fact I was asked about my fixed blade and told the person it’s a tool I use it for everything, I slice apples with it and make sandwiches with it. Sometimes in a restaurant I use it to cut my steak especially if the utensils look dirty.
Regarding the "Junglas", I've had the OKC "RTAK II" for at least 20 years & I owe it my allegiance because I haven't been able to break it or wear it out. I don't see the point in spending much more money just to say that I own the brand, when the specs are so close. I even like the handle scale shape. I also own 2 other similar OKC knives in the same series, a 6" blade & a 3" blade.
Very cool choices. I got Andy's Klapatche and i am in love with it. Its almost perfect. Ive got a tahoma on the way and I expect it will also be phenominal.
Awesome video. I used to have the Schade Love that Knight gave it to my nephew at least it’s still in the family. I also like the jungles but I opted for the Rtak ll because of the price point. Love that knife. Stay safe.
You have some nice knives and I also have a nice collection of knives also and don't use most of them, but keep most in my knife collection. I like the look of each knife you showed us and the companies who made them.
Hmm ... Although not being a 'knife guy', I do still have every knife I've ever purchased, with the exception of a small folder that was lost. But, I gotta say ... a "honkin' big knife" does kinda catch my eye.
Hello from Oklahoma! I couldn't watch your video with 666 likes, especially since its Halloween, so I pushed like before I even started. Loved the video! Good to see Kumo The Wonder dog! My go to one knife is the schrade SCHF3N. Thanks for all You Do! God Bless!
Nice collection of knives. I have a Bowie knife that has the double edge, definitely nice to have. PS: I think you should have brought out the Uncle Henry large Bowie knife you have.
Great to see you Bryan after the time (seems there was a gap in your channel). Thank you for the video, keep filming knives and have a great time:-) FM
Sharp Saturday starring Kuma the Wonder Dog. Guest appearance by Brian the technical advisor. Nice blade collection. Bummer about the theft. Sounds like some nice gear that they weren't entitled to.
Nice video! I'm a knife fan and like seeing others favorite knives my favorite knives are CRKT M16/ bronze handles scales (folding) and the Coldsteel Leatherneck sf(fixed blade). I make videos too but I'm small time 103 subs. Thank you for sharing your blades!
@matt ok, you somewhat expressed your opinion ... guess you can now go back to using your 10 inch China "Bubba Survival Blade" knife to open your next beer can (BTW, that's what those little pull tops are for if you are wondering"
garbage trucks?? I have to drive over 15 miles one way to throw my garbage away . That's the way it is in Fairbanks , Alaska and yes I pay tax's for this
Hey Brian, I enjoy your videos. I just came in the house to eat brunch. I get up and take care of my horses. (Feed and a bit of training on them) 10:00ish am here. I turned on your video while I eat. I was thinking, how is this guy doing a Saturday video this early? Realized you are 2 hours ahead of me. I'm in Montana. Anyhow,, keep this stuff coming. Don Allen P. S. I found a Kershaw Speed safe knife while Elk hunting yesterday. Looks like it was out there for awhile
As always a great video. Love the stories that go with the blades. I don't personally have any of those. But I have friends that do. Have been able to try out a few of them. I guess I'm just a little slow on pulling the trigger to buy them. I'm afraid that when I do get one there will be something come out that I want more. And funds are limited these days. (LETS GO BRANDON)!!! But thank you for sharing.
