Now someone just need to come up with a tent like shelter for it so it could also be used for camping on while anchored next to a sand bar or wherever else
This is a great boat for cruising with the old folks (90+), the grandkids (under 5), water trail adventures with the wife and friends, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, tubing and fishing…..
Just bought this boat and love it. For some reason people LOVE to hate it until they get on it LOL I also find it handles closer to a trihull than a pontoon
I would like to see it loaded down and how it performs until then I've been reading the comments and it sounds like a lot of us are aware of the differences in these boats once you put all your people and ice chest and gear them we want to see what it'll do?
Yes we own a Switch and we love the seat configurations! Adding the second battery this Friday with onboard battery charger and maintainer. Great video!
Was going to buy one. Then I tried to get on the boat from the dock. No side door, no rear door to get in from the water. I guess they just want you to climb over the rails. Does not work for ne
The base switch has doors in the back corner so you can enter from the side at the back. You loose the capability to have seats at the rear or need to move them to open the door though. I don't have one but saw it at the dealer.
That is a drawback. We walk on the front deck to the door and if we have old passengers (over 90) we pull up straight to the dock (and then my 92 year old father jumps over the rail just because he can…..).
@Nomad Norm They want you to keep eating there. There is a video on a guy who unbolted the rail on the starboard rear corner. It is already hinged! Uses a type of bungee to hold the door closed.
After watching your videos on this I was eagerly awaiting the release in Australia. Until I saw the price, Expected RRP is $100000 Aud!!! There are so many other options for boats in Australia for that price which would outperform the Switch. Sadly Seadoo have priced themselves out of the market here...
We love our switch, people at the launch ramp snap their necks when they see it. We cannot boat in peace with out being stopped by multiple people to talk about it!
I don't have those numbers exactly but it feels like it has ample storage with options for added storage if you buy the Linq attachments. Also JetBoatPilot is making new floor attachment panels that will enable the attachment of more storage type items. That product will be released soon.
I really like the switch but man, their pricing went too high too fast AND seadoo is charging a $1,400 commodity surcharge on top of that! I want the 18 ft sport 230 hp but after the surcharge, then dealers prep and inflated freight costs, it’s more than a Yamaha 190
I am contemplating buying a Switch Cruise 21 / 230. However, I would like to know what is the maximum people you have had on your boat while pulling a wake boarder or tubing. I am wondering how this pontoon will do when it has 7 to 8 adults on it while pulling somebody on a wakeboard or tube. Please reply with any info you have about this question. Thanks in advance.
We rented one of these and found the steering to be extremely heavy. My husband and I took turns driving and after about 90 minutes going straight up a channel and back down, our shoulders were killing us. Is this normal handling? Also the boat wasn’t quiet. We were wanting to buy one that is why we rented one.
Ours have been quiet and the handlebars are relatively easy to turn even at speed. It's not like power steering on a car but totally manageable and my arms aren't sore after use.
They are two completely different platforms. Both are really great at what they do. The Yamaha has some really strong advantages in some areas. And the SeaDoo does in a few others. What's most important to you?
I have a switch 21 ft love it just hate the issue with trailer as the original trailer was for fresh only and I live in ocean which means the trailer not even a year old is rusted out
I have a 20 22,21, 230 switch that has about 15 hours on it so I was getting roughly 42 MPH now I am getting only 35 MPH and I’m not sure why? Do you have any suggestions on why the speed would’ve been reduced??
SeaDoo created the IDF feature to address seaweed and debris. It's called intelligent debris free and essentially allows users to rotate the impeller in the opposite direction of its normal rotation in order to eject debris and weeds from the intake.
Truth be told, we're learning that the plastic hull has several benefits. Also the backbone of this boat is solid aluminum I-beam construction so it's pretty darn solid. I think it's going to take the market some time to acclimate to the idea of a PolyTech hull but in time I think the benefits I mentioned will win over many. And by the way I don't work for BRP. I simply love our Switch and want to see others discover it for themselves.
@@JetBoatPilot I wasn't referring to scratches, I was talking about splits in the seam. I understand your defending this model ,and if you have that kind of money great, however you can buy a 16ft Bass buggy pontoon with a galvanized trailer and a 50 hp 4 stroke merc for around $19,000 . True it won't do 35 mph on the water, but it gets you out there at a much lower price and 10 grand can buy alot of gas.
And there is no $1400 dollar prep fee. You can go to the local dealer and drive away with your boat ,whereas with Switch they want a deposit and then you wait a year for delivery. Atleast thats what I'm told here in Florida.
