Best advice. People think they need to change everything to make it better when in fact it's the opposite. Glock is already perfect from a factory and when you start moding things, it will jeopardize the integrity of the functions. The only upgrade to my glock I did was to attach a quality flashlight. Rest of my money went to ammo and range fees.
@@boomee78 it's hard to do live fire training without ammo unless you are training to use it as a club then I suggest a 1911 because it make a better club than a glock.
All of my Glocks wear Trijicon glow in the dark sights. They are excellent. I have considered replacing the triggers and the slide release, then I go shooting and everything on my Glocks work so well that I decide not to fix what ain't broke. My Glock 20 is almost 30 years old and it still works flawlessly and still looks good.
These are the type of comments that make me wanna go the glock route over all the other fancy carry guns out there right now. It’s hard when there’s stuff like the springfield hellcat, sig p365x macro etcetera. What truly matters to me is reliability and all around ruggedness, I want my guns to last aslong as I do lol.
I can see maybe replacing the sights on my Glock. I cannot see paying 600.00 for a Glock & spending another 300.00 on modifications. If o want to spend a 1000.00 on pistol & modifications I would be better off buying a 1911.
EDC carry my stock Glock 19 Gen 3 for 18 years with thousands of rounds thru it without any hickups. It's been a reliable beast straight out of the box with minimal maintenance.
I have carried a pretty much stock Glock 22 on duty for a long time. Only thing I changed was the plastic sights and added steel night sights. I also added a tac-light. Spending a ton of money upgrading your gun will only be cosmetic and not really enhance accuracy. Most defensive shooting situations will be at relatively close distances. I know that RU-vid gun “Gurus” feel that you have to put all the bells and whistles on a gun to be cool. Best thing you can do to upgrade your shooting, is spend your time, money, and effort in training, and shooting often.
I've went down the rabbit hole of chasing the best pistol from Smith and Wesson to Sig Sauer to Springfield to Kimber And now I've done a complete circle back to Glocks, because Gocks are the best and most reliable pistol on the market today I've been wasting time and money when I could have been training more with a Glock
I upgrade all my glocks with night sights, rubber grip tape, lights, and the apex trigger and whatever else i want! I like upgrading guns and working on them tho and i got a bunch of money in each one but it is worth it! It don't really matter what you do to them as long as you like what you are doing and are adequate with it!
Change the sights and put a red dot on and you’re good to go (flashlight is good too depending on what you’re using the gun for) Don’t mess with internals/trigger/slide as that can cause reliability problems.
you should always have a flashlight no matter what. half of the time, of all time, is night time. not trying to throw any dirt at you but a flashlight is always important!
I’ve never owned a Glock before , but I just ordered my first gen 3 Glock 19 . It will be here tomorrow. I’m actually kinda excited for my first Glock . Maybe my first of many , who knows
From someone who's been in the military for 10+ years and shoot many guns - if you know how to shoot and handle and maintain a gun, you'll be just fine with a factory stock gun. None of these fancy upgrades are needed (except a good holster). All of these upgrades will just take money out of your pocket. Think of it like driving an old stick shift compared to the modern stick/automatics/paddle shifters that you see in every cars these days. That good old stick will get the job done just fine. Just my two cents. But good video though.
I get what your saying but living here in Canada you can’t own any firearm for self defence so when you’re “building” a gun it’s all for enjoyment and fun, and all these extras are a wicked fun 👍
Spend $550 -700 on a Glock. Then spend another $100-150 on a trigger, $75-150 on sights, $120-180 on a new barrel, and however much it costs to mill a slide and/or do a stipple job. Or you can buy a gun that already has all those things. I get Glock is the 'standard,' and rightfully so, but you shouldn't have to do all that to make a gun as good as a gun you can get off the shelf for potentially half the price.
You are doing it wrong. Buy the parts individually and build it up, you won’t waste money. I have stock glocks and Gucci glocks/p80s that I put together. I’ll never buy a Glock and then change everything. That’s a waste of money.
The only thing you have to upgrade for a glock is iron sights. If you train, the trigger will break itself in. Facts. Lights and reddots are accessories. The barrel is fine. Love your channel
Why conceal carry a handgun with lightning cuts that open the firearm up to the elements? Any type of debris could cause major failures or dangerous operation if you have something obstructing the barrels movement in the slide.
Audrey you hit the nail on the head. Only upgrades you need on a Glock or any gun for that matter is a decent set of sights (irons or optics) and training.
As a combat veteran, I've trained on several different weapon platforms and I still train weekly. A holster and ammo should be the first two things you get after (or when) buying your firearm. I have several G 19s and the variants (19x and G 45). I train on all of them. Put maybe 3-4 rounds in each mag (buy extra mags) and practice shooting and doing reloads and get back on target for follow up shots.
for a person new to guns and wants a defense pistol, I would feel good recommending a Glock 9mm the ammo if they could find it would be cheaper than most other calibers, I would not recommend changing the trigger, slide for a combat pistol but I do like lights and sights (night)
Glock Perfection, proceeds to change just about everything on the gun lol. Heck, I'm old enough to remember when people wrapped their Glocks with skateboard anti-skid tap which was before stippling with a hot iron. Question: When will 1911 Fudds be replaced by Glock Fudds?
I'm not a Glock fanatic but I do own 4 of them. I only replace the sights and live with the factory trigger. Even their claimed match trigger on the 34 is just okay. To me they are tools, bought for self defense, an all around decent gun that is reliable.
The best concealment holster I own us made by Triple T Holsters in Kemah,Tx. I have owned kramers, galco, safariland and many others but nothing beats a triple T Holster!
I know everyone complains about the stock trigger, sights, and trigger guard (ie "Glock Knuckle"), etc, but the first upgrade I put on my Glock was actually an extended slide stop/release (whatever you want to call it). I hated the stock one
Bro, I love the honesty. Like you said. You can have all the money put into that little guy but if you can’t hit the target. All of that add ons wont help you when you need it the most..
Sights. Take apart the trigger and polish everything to drop the pull by a pound or so. If you think you need more look into aftermarket trigger connectors. Other than that you want to keep them stock. More money you put into it the more problems you may run into.
For those with hand/arm/shoulder issues (I suffered a second degree A/C separation in a bike accident) the Slide Pull Charging Handle from the Glock Store works great. It's available on just about every Glock.
My glock 19 required a new barrel, new guide rod, new trigger, and new sights to be able to shoot as well as a Tp9sf, Sar9, M28 (Girsan,) and P120 (Tristar.) By adding the new "upgrades" it raised the total price greater than $800, double the cost of the aforementioned guns. If you like used Honda Civics, at new Accord prices, then the Glock is for you!
I currently have 6 glocks, 4 of which i built...and upgraded sights and triggers are an absolute must, im very fond of the apex and overwatch triggers. Ive just recently gotten into wml's on my pistols, and currently the olight baldr s is my favorite. Another thing i prefer to have on my glocks is a decent magwell...i really like the one from blacklist, but ima try the one from factr usa too
@@evanacey1414 you can buy the the tall front sight by itself, and you won't need to buy the tall rear sight if your red dot has a notch like the holosuns, sigs and shields.
Everyone hates. But muddy wet or rusty these damn things still work. Plus. From a SHTF standpoint there’s tons of parts all over to be salvaged and 9mm is the most abundant handgun ammo.
I have a glock 19x that I went too from a sw9ve and it's night and day in the trigger. So I don't see a need for a new trigger in something that just works better.
Glocks are fine the way they are. I’d like to see target results from all these upgrades. It’s no different than buying a new truck. Putting tires , rims , lifts , tuners etc.
A lot of it depends on how skilled you are as a shooter. It's probably not a good idea to customize or change anything on your Glock until you get somewhat proficient with the pistol. As for what these upgrades will do for someone who already is somewhat good at shooting Glocks, it'll make a world of difference adding that stuff on. They should be every bit as accurate if not, more accurate.
@@zombieslayer7759 yeah I agree. Learn to shoot your Glock first, and get good at it, and then do your own upgrades to it and see how much better you are with it.
RMR, suppressed night sights, trigger, weighted tungston guide rod, light. I found the laser on the light to be very useful for conceal carry. At night in a dark room that laser is much easier to pickup than night sights...you can shoot with one hand over your head with a laser...and yes it will be close.
I have the 19X in FDE, it comes with upgraded night sights. However if you want a RMR style optic. The top of slide will need drilled & tapped to hold your red dot down but it is nice & flat.
What happens to the rear factory night sights? If I want to have my slide milled is it generally recommended to replace the sights for suppressor height sights for the red dot or can I keep my factory 19x sights and be fine?
@@daebak7370 if you want to co-witness your irons through your optic then, yes you need suppressor height sights. If you only want a dot and leave your factory sights for when you take the dot off and don’t want suppressor sight heights, then that is fine too. Just remember batteries don’t last forever if you don’t routinely change them, so co-witnessing a dot with irons is generally the way to go.
I wasn’t a fan of Glock until November 2018 and took a chance buying a Gen 3 Glock 21 .45ACP I fell in love with it my first gun was a Taurus PT111 G2 that I gave my dad after I bought the Glock 21 I took him to register the Taurus PT111 G2 in his name 3 months after that I bought a Gen 3 Glock 27 then 2 months after that a Armalite AR-15 (M-15) then 4 months after I bought a Beretta APX that came with 2 17+1 mags then a month later I bought a Springfield SA-XD that came with 2 12+1 mags a OWB magazine, gun holster , and speed loader then 4 months later a Gen 5 Glock 19 and then months later I bought an American Tactical Imports 20 gauge Bulldog shotgun for $404.90 my neighbor said we’re going to the range to try out my 20 gauge Bulldog shotgun 😂
I had my G34 GEN5 MOS today, I don't think I am going to upgrade the gun much, but my own shooting skills by buying more ammo. Seriously, the best way to improving ourselves, instead of spending that much money to buy parts to each different guns, we better to improve the shooting skills so we can shoot better with any guns.
For my hd glock I swapped out sights and added a piece of skateboard tape to the top of my slide for a little more grip during press checks (press checks are free). Added a light and kept everything else stock. God forbid it gets used in a defensive shoot, but if it does, that gun is going into police custody and I may never get it back. Not going to twist the knife by having a $1000 pistol taken from me when a $600 pistol can get the job done. Besides that, the fancy guns STILL require training and ammo and lights and practice etc. Get what you want. Do what you want with it. Have a purpose.
Yall should do stress tests on OE glocks vs glocks with customizations. Would be pretty cool, ie windows vs serrations vs trigger upgrades vs optics vs combinations vs classic out of the box.
I’m a *’GlockBoy’* ...and I’m not ashamed of that.... ....I’m ashamed of my commentary above but I’m not ashamed of who I am or what I’ve chosen to be 🤣🤣🤣😎
First: take your Glock to your nearest gun buy/sell/trade store Second: Find the salesmen in the store, and make sure he's going to give you fair barter Third: Trade the Glock in for a Sig or 1911 this weapon will be upgraded to its greatest form when traded.... Back on the shelf with its cross Eye'd shooting self. Result on action, you will own a gun when aimed and shot will shoot straight, don't buy cheap on 1911's unless you want to own a really small pump action shotgun. Problem Fixed 100%
All useful information because I’m looking at upgrading my G22 the only thing that bucked me in this video is you putting down the G34 facing the camera during the video 😂
Cool video because it’s Glock. However, of all the money I’ve spent on guns, I’ve NEVER been disappointed with a Glock. Glock perfection. I’ll take it right out of the box. I’m a no nonsense type guy... Glock is a no nonsense gun. Glock 17 gen 4 all day long.
Reason I love glocks is because it seems to be only hand gun that fits my hand nice and tried lots others and they didn’t fit my hand right or comfortable to hold so Glock is my go to tbh..
Only things you need are 5 things. 1. Lots of ammo. 2. Lots of range time. 3. Mcarbo spring and guide rod. 4. Flashlight. 5. A holster for you. Not what your friends have.
I have a Gen 4 Glock 19 and a Gen 5. Accuracy seems to be much better with the Gen 5. Better trigger and barrel. I did change the sights to Ameriglo Big Dot and they are great.
i think after sights the most important thing to upgrade is the extractor with an apex extractor and i like to upgrade the ejector to the gen 5 ejector, had a lot of issues with the gen 3 ejector that came in my gen 4 glock 17
I digress about lasers being unneeded. In some instances/scenarios you may not be able to look down your sights. Hip fire with an attached laser can not be denied.
You guys are so extra lol. Glock 19 Gen 3 out of the box, no mods or gimmicks with 0 FTF's over 5,000 rounds. My advice, don't tinker with something that ain't broke, just buy ammo and maintain your magazines. Unless it's a Gen5 G26 - that stiff brick needs all kinds of mods. To each their own, great channel.
I have a fully upgraded Glock 26 I keep in my end of the world bag it has a 15 rd mag, a o light, a beaver tail, a red dot, a skeleton slide, and a aftermarket trigger
