One of my favorite author fueds was Claire Boothe Luce vs Dorothy Parker. It most came from Luce's Anti- Communist views and Parker's Anti- McCarthyist views. There is a famous story that Luce and Parker were both entering a hotel at the same time. Luce opened the door for Parker and sneered. "Age before beauty." Parker simply quipped. "Pearls before swine." Before walking through the door.
